Hey guys, I want to give a big Thank You to all my viewers, subscribers, and to all who has supported this channel. Thanks to you guys, we just hit the 1000 Subscriber goal! And to show my appreciation, I will be doing a giveaway somewhere within the next few videos, so stay tuned in. ✊😄 🎉
Be sure to show us the wet sand and polish process and the finished job. Thanks for putting out these videos. I've done many paint jobs, never with Rustoleum, but I understand doing things on the cheap! Looking forward to the next video.
The first new vehicle I ever purchased was a 93 Chevy S10 in Dove Grey aka Nardo Grey. Back then it was a very unique and very rare color and got compliments everywhere I went. People couldnt believe it was factory paint, and asked where I got the paintwork done. The Rustoleum smoke grey looks just as good. Thanks for this video, I now plan to paint my 07 Grand Marquis the same way with all of the chrome and trim in gloss black.
at 50/50 it is thin, but dries really quick for the next coat. 5 coats (a good thing) later and a beautiful result appears. Don't use a brush, use high density foam rollers, or a sprayer.
Probably one of the better youtube videos ive seen on how to Rusto spray paint....the car looks Great! I roller brush painted my foxbody in Battleship gray Rustoleum Topside Marine paint mixed 3:1 with Flood brand Penetrol. The paint still shines after sitting on my driveway for 6 months now.
That's wassup! 👌 although it's a cheap paint, I'm expecting it to last a while. I'm still treating it as any other car paint. Buffing and waxing from time to time.
I just subscribed to your channel ... I just wanna say that you have really given me some good tips on painting I'm getting ready for my first paint job so hopefully with the things you have shared in your videos I'll be able to do a fairly decent job..thanks so much keep up the good work
GT's Performance, You may have already answered, but what was the paint to thinner ratio used this time? It never fails that with each and every Rustoleum video that comes out, there's some dickhead that's got to chime in wanting to tell us what he knows about painting a car. The truth is that we don't care what he knows we want to see you doing a Rustoleum paint job. Thanks for taking the time to produce these vids., I'm enjoying watching.
@@GTsPerformance I came back to this video as reference to the mix ratio. No new project, videos, everything good? You might drop short, or video. Price went up on more of Autobaun products, bet your to blame for some of that.... Ha ha. Good Advertiser for their products.

New upcoming videos will start here at the GT's Performance version 3.0 😅 I'll make an update pretty soon. I still need a few more things before I can start on another project
I’ve been watching your videos for a while , before you started spraying what did you mix your base coat with ? Mineral spirits and what’s paint ration did you go with , thank you !
Looks good. I have painted cars with same paint. It's all in prep. I was a professional painter and all the haters are idiots. It's all in prep. And sometimes cheap is all you can afford. Sand and buff that thing and keep it waxed you should be good to go

@@jasonenz4238 this is an old reply I know. Majic makes a specific reducer for their alkyd enamel, and a hardener as well. Majic paint itself is inferior to Rustoleum but their reducer/ hardener is compatible with Rustoleum and makes a very good combination
@GTsPerformance did you use a hardener? I live in Florida I’ve seen you and a few other people just use acetone, wanted to know how is the drying process as I want to put a clear over y rus o leum when I paint it next month
I've only primed a 95 Honda accord with six cans but its a lot easier to spray it with a gun as I see. Good stuff keep up them videos bro , I'm learning

I'm thinking about this sort of paint job for my S10. Is there a reason you don't use hardener? I've noticed the rattle can job on my Suburban has remained soft almost a year later. Others here on RUclips swear by adding a hardener. I've never had a spray gun, always used spay cans with mixed results.
What primer you would use on bright silver metallic I put light gray primer and painted it with the paint code but I should of painted the whole vehicle because where I painted at looks darker than what the factory color looks after I painted it and put clearcoat. I used 2k primer and activator but the activator ran out so I used regular light gray primer over my truck. Maybe I didn't put enough coats of clearcoat on. I didn't paint the top part of my truck. I should of just painted the whole vehicle with the paint so so all the truck looks the same color it would of turned out better. Think am gonna just go and paint the top and other doors on the right side to match up.
Cant seem to find this info anywhere ... How long did you wait to re-coat? I'm gonna use the Majic Catalyst Hardener. This paint says to wait 24 hours to re-coat but, I'm sure that's specifically if you're brushing or rolling it on. Did you just wait for the paint to flash and re-coat?
Rustoleoum paint I good stuff if you do your prep correctly, sanding priming etc and at least 2 coats of paint if you want it to last longer throw a clear coat on it. Good job

You did a great job man how did you mix the paint? I seen the other video of the wet sand and buff my question is do you have to clear it or just buff?
Every cup I mixed was 12oz of paint, plus 6oz of acetone. And, you don't necessarily have to add clear coat. It has a good gloss straight from the can. As long as you take care of it, it'll last years! If it's not a budget thing and you decide you want to add clear, then sure, your paint will definitely last even longer (as long as you take care of it of course)!

From harbor freight also. It's been very good to me! I've had it for several years and painted many vehicles and small projects, and it's still going hard. It turns on about 3 or 4 times to do a full pass around an entire car so, I wouldnt use anything under 20 gallons.
