- On February 9th, 2023, officers responded to a disorderly conduct incident. The victim advised that they had left their car unlocked and went to McDonald's when someone stole their iPhone from the passenger seat. The officers checked the CCTV footage, where they found a suspicious couple stealing the phone from the car, and followed them. The officers proceeded to arrest the male because they had proof of the burglary. The female continued to argue and verbally abuse the police officers. The suspect persisted in his defense and argument with the officer. The woman displayed no indication of stopping her aggressive behavior. Soon, both of them were transported to jail for processing. The officer explained the situation to the male. The male was charged with child endangerment while the female was charged with child endangerment, resisting arrest and theft.

I completely agree, the only problem is that it creates a situation where it might intimidate actual victims into being afraid to files an accusation out of a possibility of getting jail time just for reporting. Yup. Not only do they cost a lot of money, but phones are a lot of peoples way of keeping a roof over their head and a job secure. If someone's phone is stolen and they have no money to buy another immediately, they could really lose everything. I've realized since being an adult that a phone and a car are the two most important possessions to always have.

I never understand people like this. They commit a crime and they're pissed at the cops for...doing their job and holding them accountable...? Like ya'll weren't thinking about the baby when you were stealing something as inconsequential as a PHONE. Not even FOOD or CLOTHES

@Tomakia8 If they had been caught in the act and the person they were stealing from decided to take matters into their own hands the baby could have been injured so they did put the child in danger. They shouldn't be stealing in the first place but definitely shouldn't be doing it with a baby.
I haven’t finished the video, but my early guess would be that they left the baby alone in the hotel room while they were out stealing…

I meant what i said as in... They probably had some random p.o.s watch their sweet baby, when they should've been home with their kiddo instead! They never care abou their child until they're caught!! God only knows who was watching their baby. It's completely cool to them, and not thinking or worrying about their own flesh and blood till they're caught and CPS gets involved. THEN that's when they "care".
This the first time i have ever seen cops who arrested someone actually do the right thing and try to help these ppl out and get them back to their baby

$100 bail per person is ABSURD. I'd be pissed if someone stole my stuff and then just got right out
The phone was returned, and burglary of a vehicle is usually a misdemeanor (excluding potentially aggravating factors). Like, what, you want them flogged and held without bail for taking a phone?
And on top of that, the person whose phone was stolen, left their phone in the car and unlocked… Not saying the crime is dismissible, but you’re asking for it at that point.
What do you want, life in prison for a $1000 phone?
And the cops already were familiar with the guy, so it ain’t his first rodeo
Although in the end he was the more reasonable of the two (which isn’t saying much)
