Nice man exactly what I’m looking to do to my trd got the Trd pro grill with red letter and I’m changing the 4x4 decals to red as well thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Right now I have about 5 coats on each rim, and I'm going to order the Hyperdip Piano black and apply 2 more coats. It will hold against normal driving and washing. I don't think it will hold offroad though. Thanks for the comment.
@@kylecoiner7337 I did this before the Piano Black was on sale. I just ordered a couple of cans of Piano Black to spray over this satin black to give them more shine. I'll post it after it's done to compare.
When you take the caps off you will see that the Toyota emblem is held on by a couple of clips. What I did was tap the clips gently with a rubber mallet to release the emblems.
No. I didn't see the piano black when I bought it. It looks shinier than the shadow black. I think the piano black is nicer. I might have to give my wheels a coating of piano black if I don't sell them. You can also leave the logo silver, it will probably look nice too.
Did not remove the tires or masked them. The stuff peels off the tires. However after doing it that way I recommend masking the tires. It was a pain in the butt removing it from the tires since it wasn't that thick.
Most of it will peel off the tires. On the lettering I used a brush to peel it off. But after doing it this way I think it is better to cover them with painters tape and paper.
I believe I used the shadow black. But after it dried it looked a little dull so I sprayed it with Piano black which is shinier. Also the shadow black is a little rough and so I recommend the piano black, it is a lot smoother and easier to clean.
They were holding up very well. But I decided to buy other wheels so had to sell them. But before selling them I had to remove the the hyper dip and it was really hard to peel off in the areas that it wasn't thick. So I used Goo Gone and it came off real easy. Thanks for the comment.
If you spray it thick enough it you can peel it off. For areas that are thin, just use Goo Gone automotive and let it sit until it is soft and just wipe it off.
I've had my tire and trim on for over 2 years still looks great

That looks awesome!
Wow that looks really good!
This is so dope looking!!! Great job!! Thinking the same for mines!! I have the same color Tacoma so that is a good color combo
Looks sharp 😎
Looks great
You should use a clear coat after your done painting them. It’ll look glossy and it protects them also
From what I have seen on youtube from Hyperdip, they say that clear coat and other paints can not be painted over on their paint.
Did u sand them down 1st before hyper dipping them? Or just clean and paint? Looks really Good!
Good job man. Wondering if some kind of clear coat would help it stay strong. Looks great 👍

Is the piano black more of a gloss or a satin finish? You did a good job.
@@kylecoiner7337 its glossy

Looks super good man! How does this stuff handle wheel cleaner/chemical?
All I use is car wash soap and water, so no problem.
I’m planning on doing the same with my center caps. How did you remove the Toyota emblem off them or should I just plastidip the whole cap together?

Is that the piano black. Waiting for mines thanks I like what you did with the red logo it makes it POP.

Did you have to change the needle bearing in the CV joints with that lift?
No.
Did you dismount the tire from the rims. Or masking
Tape

How did you spray them without removing the tires?
Most of it will peel off the tires. On the lettering I used a brush to peel it off. But after doing it this way I think it is better to cover them with painters tape and paper.
What color black did you use? Matte or semi gloss. Looks great!!

Did it come off the lug nuts when you put them back on?
No. If you are careful it does not come off. I decided I wanted them chrome so I removed it.
I watched another video and that person just put wheel shine on the tires. When he was done he just peeled the over spray off.
Looks nice. How are they holding up

Does your truck have a lift, or is this the standard lift? Thanks!
Yes I did 2" front 1" back. Pretty soon I'll be getting the 285 70 16 tires. Hopefully they won't rub.
How about some black lugs
Nope. They were black and I took the paint off to give the wheels a little contrast. Like them this way better.
Can you remove if you change your mind?
