- Details of after market $220 TRD skid plate and how to install TRD letters. For half the price of an OEM it has the same quality protection and looks as the OEM. Plate made by LOSTAR. Purchased on Amazon.

I got the same setup. I’m doing a bumper winch and a cat cover too
Followed your lead! Thanks. But just be warned people this plate or the OEM version will need a longer spacer in the middle if you are running a diff drop kit.
Nice job 👍🏽
Have same problem got front on tried getting the middle… bolts too short. And rear holes not lining up. Real pain
Since you had to swap the front and middle bolts, do the spacers come off pretty easily?
They are not glued on, they are held in place by the plastic washers, so it's very easy to move them.
@@juliodavid49 good to know. I thought I read it was some kind of star nut bolt. Thanks
Hi can you please tell me where you got the TRD letters and the demon bracket/hooks?
I got the demon brackets at Extreme Terrain and the TRD letters on eBay from bdtrim.
@@juliodavid49 thank you sir!
Glad to help.
Can you post the link on where you got the trd sticker
got them from bdtrims on eBay.
will it fit a 2022 tacoma SR5 with a 2 inch leveling kit?
Don't know. I guess you can look up the OEM plate and see what yers it will, then you will know if they are the same.
How messy is it going to be changing oil with this skid plate?
Don't know. Haven't done it yet. Let you know after I do it.
Supposedly easier because it has a hole for the drain and an access panel for the filter (rather than having to remove the whole thing)
Currently Unavailable! I watched this vid too late, looks good like a pro skid plate.
I just saw it for $220 before tax on eBay. Probably a bit more with tax depending on which State you live in.
Is all the 3 gen skid plate are the same??
You have to check with the manufacturer to see if it fits your year, make and model.
The directions on this skid plate are TERRIBLE! They do not tell you where to put the spacers and although I put them on correctly with small spacers up front and taller ones in the middle, the spacers did not fit snugly. (The taller spacers for the middle were at least 3/8" too short!)
Overall, I wish I had spent the extra $150 and bought the TRD OEM plate.
I plan on adding some washers and perfecting the fit when the weather is better.
On the bright side...the knockoff skid plate holes do align, it is heavy duty, it will definitely help protect the underside, and it looks good on the truck. The Chinese aftermarket plate just took a lot more time than it would have if there were good directions and the spacers were the right size which led to some confusion on where they belonged. Better than no plate at all for sure!
Sorry to hear that. My spacers were the right length. My plate is made in USA, but I don't know if that has something to do with it. But it sounds like an easy fix anyway. For something that is under the truck that is barely visible I would rather save the 150 bucks, you can buy something else for the truck with the money.
It's just a little off but who's gonna know
in what way is it off?
@@juliodavid49 It's off just a hair, I'm a perfectionist. I thought you might be also.
In what way? Too big too small? Left to right? Too forward too far back? Are you talking about the mounted plate? Or are you talking about the lettering?@@1718HULK
@@juliodavid49 I'm not trying to get you upset. I'm just talking about the lettering. I think it looks very nice.
@@juliodavid49 My personal preferences. I'm gonna do the same thing you did. But i'm gonna spray paint it black
I got mine for $275... Now I know how it's going to look with my Supreme Suspension mounts and red Smittybilt D Rings.. woohooo
