3 Indie Games That Defined Roguelikes For 2023 (for me)

- I've been waiting for each of these games to leave early access for years. I've spent way too much time refreshing Steam pages for updates haha, but I'm so happy to say that now that they're all in 1.0 they're definitely must try's for roguelike fans.
With literally too many roguelikes to play them all it’s clearer than ever that indie games are the kings of the genre and three of the best in the industry just dropped out of early access. These new indie games are the kind that will hook you in and leave you craving just one more run constantly as they’re masterclasses in the kind of gameplay experience that fans of the genre are always on the hunt for.
Roboquest, Astral Ascent, and Voidigo are likely to go down as some of 2023’s best, but what do you think about the mystery game? Is it as exciting as I think or am I just getting too blinded by how accurate the characters are haha?
If you’d like to see more Roboquest in particular, I recommend checking out That Trav Guy’s review for more details as their video does a great job covering more ground than I do: • RoboQuest - A Mastercl...

So surprised this video didn't have 100k views you're super talented keep it up
I didn't notice that until I read the comment! This is such a well put together video.
Voidigo and Roboquest are fantastic. I haven't picked up Astral Ascent yet, but it will probably be my Christmas present to myself.
I had written off the Blazblue rogue-like, but now I'm starting to think I jumped the gun.
Whoever made that third game probably really enjoyed Black Ops 2 multiplayer 😆
Great video and even better taste in games
Thank you. Looking for something to enjoy while waiting for Silksong (hopefully during my lifetime and Persona 3 in Febuary
Knock on wood we'll get Silksong sooner than either of us think haha
Cool video! Saving the recommendations.
I have recently tried Ravenswatch and I'm loving the concept and potential for an early access title.
Ravenswatch has so much potential! I really liked the devs last game (Curse of the Dead Gods iirc) and the things they're doing with combat in Ravenswatch feel like a strong evolution
Ngl Entropy Effect was surprisingly good, nice video.
Ayy thanks I love your rearrangements. And right? I wouldn't have thought Blazblue would translate so well to this kind of spin off
You deserve more views!
Ok I really enjoyed the EVO trivia :o
Ayyy I'm glad you did I was debating whether or not to include any of that
@@whyitsfun it was an excellent inclusion that kept my attention
Awesome vid. Awesome games!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
Hey dude nice video. İ wanted to ask what is the game at 4:15 i couldnt understand it and it looks awesome🎉
Thanks! Thats Griftlands! It's a really fun deckbuilder where each run is a series of days in the lives of one of the main characters. Conversations matter as there's a pretty fun relationship system and decks for both fighting and negotiating. Can't recommend it enough and I'll probably make a video talking about it at some point haha.
i dont think its a good idea to shoutout more than one of ur other videos at the end of ur current one, but dont take my word for it lol
I appreciate the shout lol. I've seen more people than I expected interested in clicking on other videos when I've mentioned them at the end but I'm still working to find the best balance
@@whyitsfun i never saw any big youtuber mention more than a single one of his other videos at the end so i assumed its some sort of best practice but ofc you'd know better, great vid btw
Thanks! Glad you liked it@@Homophonic
