It's so fitting to release a retro bassin video on SATURDAY MORNING....considering how retro/sentimental Saturday morning's are for people my age :) Saturday morning fishing with pops, Saturday morning cartoons...as a kid Saturday mornings were the absolute best time of the week. Thank you!
Yeah, that ain’t no accident. I spent a lot of time researching the “best” time to upload videos on RUclips, then I decided to forget all that and just post them at the same time as my favorite fishing shows growing up: Saturday morning. Rising with the morning sun, I got no work today…
I never thought I would wake up for my favorite Saturday morning ritual with a Gerardo reference. Love it, lol. Rico..........suave. And I love that bait as well, walking the dog is 100% my favorite top water presentation. As always, a great vid. Keep them coming!
Heck I’m from Montana and I’ve been in that store at least a dozen times. Nice people who work there. I think I’ll wear my Phoenix fishing supply shirt today.
Hit up the good folks at Phoenix Fishing Supply and they'll ship anything you saw in this video...or better yet, get yourself in there! (links in description)
I just love your videos!! I watch all of them repeatedly. I’m know hook on Lures and hunting for them from when I started fishing in the 70’s. Always great content, keep them videos coming!!!!
Wow I'll have to check out Phoenix Fishing Supply next time I'm out there. Arizona has a great community fishing program too, last time I was out there I fished at Chaparral Park in Scottsdale and had a great time.
Rio Rico and the Rico and the suave are all in my arsenal. They are a staple for me on lake mead and lake Mohave. Thank you retro bassin for a great video !!
@@RetroBassin it was a bust. I checked out Shan's in around Valdosta. Nice shop, friendly service. Attempted another store in around Lake City, FL called Greens Marine but they were closed. Looked like a dump.
Thats an awesome store. I'm an Arizona native and grew up in Tucson. I've since moved to the south but this brings back memories for me of my teenage years
@@RetroBassin Arizona Custom baits makes some great baits they make awesome colors also. My favorite hard bait of all time in Arizona was the Heddon torpedo. I've caught too many to count on the torpedo.
I bought a 300.00 rod from them. I live in Az and thought that shop was pretty nice for bass supplies. They had a really cool decked out Jackson kayak as well
Westy's baits are a mainstay in AZ. Made by Dan Westphal. He started out with the Westy Worm which was a rigged worm on a leadhead. It was and still is a must have for fishing the AZ lakes. He made mostly jig worms but did other baits as you saw. He was also an amazing tournament angler and fished in the era when John Murray was growing up fishing in AZ. Lots of history there. Great video Retro!
You're like a little kid in a candy store, and I don't blame you one bit. I retired yesterday after 55 years of slog and hope to get more retro lure hunting done, my problem is in Ontario there aren't to many old thyme stores any more.
You are just like a little kid in a Candy shop, that twinkle in your eyes the whole time. And yes I bet that worm would work on Donkeyland. Hopefully you’ll find out !!!
Do you ever get annoyed by those videos where you have some clueless kid trying to fish with vintage / old school gear as part of a dumb challenge or dare or something ? It's cool that they're trying out some classic stuff, but it's just a joke and a novelty to them. You always hear " it actually worked " or " I can't believe I just caught a fish with this " and it just makes me disappointed in my generation. They won't question the centuries old hook and worm , but somehow they question the possibility of catching a fish on an old Mitchell 300 ?

I hadn't thought of that! That must be why I look forward to each new episode every Saturday morning. Brilliant observation!

@@RetroBassin It's greatly appreciated and for folks my age (early 40's), this channel & your videos just take me back to a easier, simpler time.
100%
My son and I are going fishing with Gary Senft Wednesday, this is our 4th trip in the last 7 months with him. He’s “The Best” guide around!
The Best because Gary is “Old School”, I love his old Fishing shows from the 80’s and 90’s!
I think I like your channel as much for your Enthusiasm
I love Saturday mornings with Retro
Thank ya!

@@RetroBassin this made me go back and watch the video, the early 90's videos on MTV (when they still played videos) were the best!
Mikes tackle world in Decatur Illinois is a gem
It’s a bucket list stop for me!!!
Such an amazing collection of local baits. Awesome seeing shops support local bait makers.
I would have love to have met some of those bait makers!
"Old is good!" that's correct! As always, great video and information!
Hope’d you catch that! Old IS good.
These tackle shop tours are my favorite! Thank you
Mine too! These great shops deserve a lot more exposure than they get on the Tube!
The fisherman's fishing supply shop. NICE FUN AND everything a fisherman needs. Yes you have to love it
It’s the kind of shop you’d stop on even if you didn’t need gear!
Wooo. Love from TN. Great channel
Need to get back to the great state of Tennessee!
Love the tackle shop Vids
We’ll keep ‘em coming!
Excellent excellent episode!!!
These are my favorite
Tha is, good buddy…mine too!
We don’t have “ponds” in Texas.
We have “tanks”.

Yeah buddy, me too!

Thank goodness! I have to get my hands on some of those lightwire spinnerbaits. They are calling to me.
I just love your videos!! I watch all of them repeatedly. I’m know hook on Lures and hunting for them from when I started fishing in the 70’s. Always great content, keep them videos coming!!!!
wow,tempting tackle shop
I may have to ship a Westys overseas…
Another great Tackle Tour. Keep after it. Good Job Chris
We need to hit up a few in Florida, good buddy.
@@RetroBassin will do
Check latest video from Dland
Never had a popper that spit instead of popped. They look top notch. Roland Martin uses those 7" Senkos alot in my local waters.
I hope to be fishing those same local waters in a few weeks!

Watching as we head up to Georgia. Going to check out some local tackle shops tomorrow!!!

What a great shop! Those clear blue drop shot worms look like they would slay.
Yes they do! Icy goodness right there…
Love seeing all the different lures especially the ones I've never hear of
So many lures, so little time.
love going there
And I can’t wait to go back!
No way! That's my shop. :D The local baits are so good I rarely buy online. And, Rico Suave wasn't THAT bad.... (ok, maybe it was).
Started fishing again being retired in Tucson. Will have to stop by and support this tackle shop. Thanks!!
The poppers are Rico's and Rio Rico's and the long walking bait is the Suave a play on Rico Suave. :-). They've been around since the mid 90s.
Thats an awesome store. I'm an Arizona native and grew up in Tucson. I've since moved to the south but this brings back memories for me of my teenage years
I just love the Arizona flair of all those lures!

I might have to give them a call and order some of the Arizona customs. They are fairly difficult to find a good selection outside of Arizona
You should have went to liars corner while you were in Phoenix. I'm born and raised in Arizona it's an old school bait shop from the 70s or 80s.
It’s now on the list!
Check out liars korner in Mesa Arizona. Its been around since the early 1980s, mostly sell the new stuff but they might have some old tackle
Added to the list and thank you, Toni!

Congrats on retiring, David! Seek and you’ll find a few.
I freaking live in this state and have never been there. Now it's a priority to go.
Get it done, son!
Lets go!
Yeah buddy!
Hey Retro, check out the man's rattle spin. It was a spinnerbait with a hollow rattling Colorado plastic blade. I've always loved that lure!
I may have a few…
Saturday morning time traveling
I’m gonna steal that line!

The bigger 6 inch is the florida standard for the senco I heard from mikeyballz!🤙👊

I wish I could find the rattle snake grub caught a ton of walleyes on it had a snake like tail Robert …….
