I got one of these as my first bike and love it. What a lot of reviewers forget is that bikes in the 650 class are faster than most sports cars, so for a new rider they are really exciting. I have got a 2023 Street Triple on order to replace it, but ever time I ride my Trident I do wonder if I'm wasting my money upgrading.
Hi, great video. I had tested the street and speed triple and like you, was expecting to be underwhelmed by the Trident. But I wasn't and ordered one! I would disagree that it's necessarily a first bike. I've had dozens of bikes but am looking for something to have fun on with the ridiculously low speed limits and congestion of the Paris area. As it is, I'll probably be able to use 30% of it's power legally. At present I have a little Fantic 500 which is a hoot to ride. Hope I won't be disappointed by the Trident in comparison.
Yeah I would agree, power is more than enough and you definitely get to use more of it than you would on say a speed triple. Perfect city bike :) what are speed limits in Paris? A lot of London has dropped to 20mph which isn't good
@@TommyBarnezTV it is officially an insane 30kmh or 18mph. Undoable in the real world. Parking is also no longer going to be free as of this September for bikes 🤬 the ring road is 45mph and twisties the same but they take forever to get to. I'm not sure that I won't regret trading in my little Fantic 500, which is great fun!
@@tonydare7614 ah man that sucks. Yeah a good portion of london is 20mph now with cameras however the cameras are quite visible so you can just slow down for them and cops are still driving around at 30ish. Parking still luckily free most places or maybe £1 for the day which I'm fine with. I work in London but live outside so get to enjoy lots of different roads.
@@TommyBarnezTV I'm originally from London and used to dispatch ride in the 1980s! Been in Paris for 25 years. London is much less stressful to ride in than Paris, where they are doing everything to prevent bikes from coming in. 130 euro fine for overtaking in a bus lane! Soon only electric bikes will be allowed in 😩
I think you'll find the service intervals are 10k miles or every year which ever is sooner. So Triumph plugging 10k intervals as a selling point is a bit misleading!

Ah good to know, I didnt realise that
🙂👍🏾
Bit sad that you cant even get to 60 mph during run in (if those flashing rev meters are anything to go by). Reminder its not a big bike i guess
