I know, old comment but still i have to answer. "Karate is more giving as many light slaps as possible." SO NARROW MINDED IF YOU MAY. Kumite, especially sports karate kumite is only a fragment of Karate. I hate people who judge karate only by what the sport has to offer. Bullshit. There's so much more to it. The hundreds of variations of karate, hundreds of styles, ways to compete, train, evolve etc... let the sport be like it is, sports karate can be really fun, without having to hurt anyone...

Something similar happened to beautiful Tae Kwon Do. Now you can hardly look at it. Why you have to do this to Karate? Worst part is the guy running away from the fight at the end without respect for his opponent. Karate is more than giving as many light slaps as possible. Sad.
