@@Hunnidband_nazzzy And honestly, Kansas could realistically have about 3 or 4 more national championships under Self as well. Consider 2010 (overall No. 1), 2011, 2013, 2016 (Overall No. 1), and 2020….when Kansas was the Final AP Poll No. 1 and Final Coaches’ Poll No. 1 team….almost unanimously. 😱

@@MickeyMouse-lm6zjI have a theory. Right before Rose's two free throw attempts KU calls a timeout. From what I've heard, in that timeout coach Cal talked about what to do depending on what happened with those free throws. Rose who is probably focusing on the fact that he has to take free throws in a very high-pressure situation may not have paid too much attention.
There are three potential scenarios and only one of those situations is one where you'd foul. 1) Rose makes both free throws. This would put Memphis up four. You don't want to foul in that situation because you stop the clock and give Kansas a chance to go to the line and score without the clock going forward.
      2) Rose misses both free throws and Kansas gets the rebound. You for sure don't want to foul there, because you give them a chance to tie the game at the line because you're only up two.
      3) Rose makes one and misses one. This is the only scenario where you foul. They don't get a three-point attempt to tie the game.
It just so happened it was scenario three and Rose just forgot.

Memphis missed some FTs, but most people don't realize that the bulk of KU's comeback occured while Memphis was making their FTs. KU cut the deficit from seven to two and had possession with about 30 seconds left. During that stretch, Memphis had hit 4 of 5 at the free throw line.

Memphis played in a weak Conf USA.
Was use winning gms by +20pts.
They never had to deal with "pressure offensive possessions," or more IMPORTANTLY pressure Free Throws ALL SEASON..
    Kansas Jayhawks played in BigXII.
They were tested bout every night fr Jan1st-Selection Sunday 2008.
*Let me be ABSOLUTELY CLEAR though......
2007-08 Memphis Tigers? Easily one of the tp10 teams of the 21stCentury.

Like many here, I've been reviewing past Final Fours and National Championships as much as I could.
    Then it dawned on me.
Should Memphis won this game, or Michigan Wolverines back in 1992 and 1993, would NCAA committee eventually vacate the title and give it to the losing team instead?
It is not about winning, but more of winning "the right way" (per Larry Brown).
Otherwise, falsified wins can be nullified and voided should exposed and proven.

The NCAA would vacate the title but would not award it to the runner up. There would just be a vacant title for 2008. Like what happened in 2013 with Louisville. As far as the NCAA is concerned, there was no champion in 2013.

Prime example why coaches have you shoot lots of free throws if they made one of the ones they missed at the end of the game they would have won
