    How about the whole issue with 2007 Daytona 500- and the 'foreign substance' in MW's carb? That was the start of their troubles- suspending crew chief and GM- and $100k fine- 100 owner and driver points- the 55 car had negative points (only time in history) for about 4 months. • @ihazdashcam
    @ihazdashcam 5 лет назад +18

    What I found ridiculous was that they fined them for Vickers' pitting, there was ABSOLUTELY no rule against it at the time. They fined them anyway. This is why NASCAR has gone down the shitter. They make rules whenever they feel like it to help the drivers they want to help. They were pissed their pretty boy Jeffy wasn't in the Chase, and this was a way to put him back in without opening up another spot. It's BS! Like MWR or not, they did nothing wrong with Vickers pitting to help a team-mate. Other teams had done it a hundred times before. They NEVER got penalized. Just proves they did it to get Jeffy into the Chase.

    • @davidschmude
      @davidschmude 4 года назад +1

      NASCAR constantly manipulates rules in an effort to get their golden boys wins and championships. That's the reason I don't watch NASCAR any more. They tried everything in their power to get Dale Jr. into the Chase. Trouble is - no amount of rule changing can get a shitty driver a championship.

    Michael Waltrip Racing was an awesome underdog team that fought their way to the top. If you were to tell me that in 5 years in 2007 that the team that was failing to make races nearly every race and could only make races with Dale Jarrett’s past champions provisional I’d of laughed. Crazy to think that ended up being the case.

    Dale would spin people out to prevent from going a lap down and nascar is concerned about clint? . . their was no rule saying vickers could not pit . . so seems their was no cheating until nascar created a rule from thin air after the fact

    MWR was a joke from the beginning, when they stooped to adding aviation fuel into the 55 car to help Michael win the pole or even qualify for the Dayton 500 then be docked 1000 driver and owner points the joke was on Toyota for joining with MWR. If it wasn't for Rob Kaufman paying the bills it would have shut down sooner than it did.
