    Dale Jr: I think we have a chance at the title in 2005
    Teresa Earnhardt: no

    • @PYLrulz1984
      @PYLrulz1984 3 года назад +30

      I'm still convinced Teresa was the reason Dale Jr. was how he was for the longest time. Maybe she may have had some points, but ultimately, when your dad created the team with the dream that his kids would run it some day, and Teresa says "yeah, no, it's mine!", you'd have to figure that affected Jr. mentally pretty badly. Even when he ended up at Hendrick, the thought of watching his stepmother wreck what his dad helped create had to have been heartbreaking. You can tell his Xfinity team is his pride and joy. Even if it's getting Hendrick help, it's still on the track to this day, while DEI is now nothing more than a marketing operation to keep the memory of Dale Sr. alive.

      Not defending her in any way, but Dale Junior admitted to his part in what happened as well. In his podcast he conceded that he was dumb to be allowed to make the decision to asked for a team swap.

    • @victoryrush9584
      @victoryrush9584 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@PYLrulz1984 The problem was JR wasn't mature enough to be the head of the company. He admitted that all he cared about during that time was partying with his buddies. Teresa gets a lot of shit for how that all went down, and yes she could have done things better, but he was not in a good place mentally to be given that responsibility at that time. If anyone deserves blame for that, It should be Dale Sr. He is the one who decided to leave the team to Teresa.

      @AISUYU COLD of course, you could spin it the other way, that if Jr. and Tony try to work things out, and it blows up again, it could sink things pretty quickly.
      Hindsight is 20-20, and even if I had some success, and trusted my organization at the time, if my crew chief and I aren't getting along, maybe freshening things up may be something that helps. At the end it didn't, and eventually, there were much bigger problems at DEI that eventually came to a head.

They'd have a bad pit stop or something and he would come flying through the field. Remember him trying to work Steve Park at Indy, (I think Park was in Childress's 30 car then.) Michael jacked him up in the short chute, loosing Park up and he got on by him.

What’d be different, is DEI equipment and the careers of Waltrip, Earnhardt Jr, Park and Truex Jr (not much different for Truex, but still). I would love to see you cover the career of Steve Grissom. I was actually given a bumper that I believe was his and have a cool diecast of his Kodiak car and would love to learn more about his career past seeing his name in old races.

    What is the name of the song? I remember it from an old NASCAR game. Was it NASCAR 06? Which covered the 2005 season ironically lolz

    While I'm not denying that in many races he was probably just running bad, most of of the incidents here don't seem like his fault at all. I woulda been interesting to see the results had he had better luck. Wouldn't have been terrific but not nearly as bad as it ended up.
