After 16 years of deathlike slumber, Hate Forest is back with a new album called "Hour Of the Centaur" created and recorded in few days of April 2020. You will not find anything trendy or new here - band's same unpenetrable dark wall of sound and bottomless maelstrom exclusively.
This is laconic and honest black metal crafted on Old Europe's eastern frontier, full of disgust to modern pseudo-intellectual, selfie/ Instagram "black metal".

@@laveyan4353 Exactly how BM and metal, in general, should be. I always found it out of place when a band is super overproduced and lacks any kind of fire or heaviness. That's not metal for me personally.

So good. By far the most well produced HF album and with some of the best composition.
Sidenote: curiously, the riff at 8:49 gives me strong Vothana vibes
Lots of that triumphant high register melodic riffing that vothana uses I hear it too especially in the second track

@@ChodeMaster Nokt Mort seem a lot less apologetic than Drudkh at least have in the past tbf. Drudkh may still support Ukrainian Sovereignty etc and would thus be quite conservative by an American Standard (a hard thing to blame them for contextually if all is honest) but I wouldn't be surprised if Roman nuked that himself.
@@ChodeMaster I assume that the choice tp bring the hate forest brand (and band) back nonetheless is an attempt to revitalize Drudkh using side projects. Possibly an attempt to rile up controversy in order to regain critical acclaim.
