Any suggestions from current houstonians on where to live for suburbs? Moving with a 4 year old and 2 month old. Looking for a beautiful clean scenic place with a lot of things to do for kids, beautiful parks, a lot of shopping centers, luxury apartments etc.? I was thinking Katy but are there other areas I should consider?
Katy is already a very strong choice for what you’ve described. The only downside is that it’s not really apart of Houston like other suburban areas like Sugarland, Clear Lake, Pearland, or The Woodlands. Still though, Katy is wonderful. The closest to it would be the Memorial City (where my wife and I currently live) part of Houston, located on the west side, just inside of the Energy Corridor.

I’m planning to move from CA to TX. I don’t know anybody there either. I don’t even know which area I would like ti live... I took a trip there in May for a week in the Woodlands area which is the area I had seen on the internet and I really liked it, but when I stayed there, I couldn’t see myself living there. It’s beautiful, but coming from L.A. to a small area like that, was a shock for me. I then visited Spring and I liked it, but again, I could not picture myself there. I did. It visit any other area because they’re all communities and it is very hard to know was good or not. But anyway, any advice on different places? I have no small kids, will be retired by when I move.
Hey Yall. Im a 22 year old music producer from detroit and im looking for a new place to be. I considered houston because the vibe is amazing. I lived in atlanta & it was cool but just over saturated. I want to move to Houston but I have a huge fear... Hurricanes. Starting off I planned on moving to Houston and staying at a band rehearsal room so I have a secure place to be as loud as I want and then grind my way so I can afford to keep my studio & get an apartment. But the fear off hurricanes keeps attacking me. I'll be moving here alone with no family and I just keep thinking about me bringing 10k worth of music equipment I worked so hard for to get damaged. Thats all I have.. I know theres apartments thats designed to not be flooded but I wouldnt be able to make music or mix songs loud there.. any thoughts and opinions ?? Good luck & hope you achieve everything you want. Stay safe everyone!!
Perfect Cell Im a native Texas so understand the fear. Try n move somewhere elevated and/or inland. The further from the coast you are the better. Houston made a lot of improvements since Harvey but it's an old city and some streets are prone to flooding. Dont let fear stop you from making a life for yourself, when those storms come Texas comes together. Good luck.
Atlanta and Memphis have a black population of 60%+, so are better places for blacks to live. This is about culture. Hurricanes scare me, too -- mostly the mold from flooding and forced evacuations.
@@lechsiz1642 for me ATL was cool good vibe its just too many people trying to do the same thing down there. I want to try something new. If you listen to hip hop I make like Travis Scott, Don Toliver, synthesized production & alot of don toliver producers/sound designers either working in Houston or LA. I figured the "living in Band Rehearsal studio idea to save money" is what made my fear of hurricanes even more.. Im thinking of getting a better paying job & create more income and lease a nice 2nd level/floor apartment. I dont think the water will flood a 2nd floor.. if it does then Houston we have a problem...pun intended

We appreciate you watching and offering your assistance. Would love to hear your thoughts on your favorite places to go, things to do, and even recommendations for a non-denominational bible-based church?
@@HanginWithTheYoungs Wow, there are plenty of places to visit...can't wait to get back out and visit them in a place of normalcy, whatever that will look like. I'm not too familiar with the non-denominational churches, but I can give you a recommendation....The Lighthouse Church, Keion Henderson, pastor. He's good. Two others are Baptist Churches that aren't that traditional... Wheeler Ave Baptist Church, Rev Marcus Cosby, pastor. He's from the Southside of Chicago. Another, The Church Without Walls, Rev. Ralph West, pastor. Each one of these churches are on different sides of town, but for now, you can tune in on line and catch them. One more, Fallbrook Church on Walters Rd. Popular places to eat... Let me ask, what type of food do you like? That would help in narrowing down the favorite list. At the top of everyone's list is Pappadeaux and we can go from there... Mardi Gras weekend in Galveston or the Houston Rodeo would be perfect places to go right now and enjoy as a family, however, both were cancelled this year due to Covid. I'll be glad when things start to open up. There will be more events, especially in the summer, that will be fun...I'll have to think of those.
I hope y'all don't have allergies /sinus issues because if you too don't you can be desensitized on my goodness and anywhere anyone has covid issues ,etc fill in the blanks and compare where y'all left

Discovery green, Cynthia woods Pavillion, so many places have constant events never a dull moment. I can't wait for this COVID-19 to calm down so we can have some normalcy again.
I relocated to Iowa almost 10 years ago but as I get older I never thought I would want to be back in Illinois my family never moved from Illinois I did and I do sometimes I wish I stayed because I had more stability in Illinois and my same life as a child the same thing church, child hood home, everything is still the same and I'mover 40.
Thanks for watching!
just dont forget where you at when u visit Hustletown,TX.. pop pop pop pop pop ..

We had two warnings but nothing that hit Houston. We got our hurricane preparation kit stored and ready tho.
@@HanginWithTheYoungs thanks when i move this year maybe my family could meet yours haha stay safe
Next time explore downtown, sugarland, richmond, stafford areas.
Harvey was a once in a lifetime hurricane. The media made it worse than it really was
How old are y’all? Just curious I’m 32 single no kids... would Houston be a good fit for me?
I’m 32 and yes, Houston would definitely be a good fit for you. When we moved here the one thing we noticed right away was so many young people ages 18-35 everywhere. - Dione
@@HanginWithTheYoungs appreciate it fam!! I’m looking to move down there in September! Or December. I will keep you posted my brotha!!
Is Houston open up completely, or limited?
It’s open everything pretty much has been open no one follows protocol out here I go everywhere
@@melmatrix2k12Thanks, our Gyms in LA are closed and we dont know when they'll reopen.
@@tishreni5183 I been going back to the gym since June there all open All restaurants concerts it. Feels normal I forgot it was still a lockdown until I went to ny
Good luck trying to find steady employment with the oil gas industry being a bust and layoffs every 2 to 3 years yikes !!!, I moved out of there in 2015 to Tennessee...best move I made ...to each is own ..
now gainfully employed going on 6 years with the same company, Houston is a hit or miss, it's tough to survive down with unstable job market .. good luck !!
Thanks for sharing Samuel. Thankfully we’ve been able to build a couple streams of income. We also own a business and have found Houston has a good entrepreneurship community. Best wishes to you in Tennessee! We know a few people who moved there.
Moved to Houston from NY in 2014. Best of luck on your journey. Houston is a great city with much growth and opportunities.

My husband and I are planning to move to Houston this year from Michigan, do you recommend a area in Houston that’s good to raise a family in ? We are looking to buy a home
We are still learning the areas too but I think Sugar Land and Katy is good.
Katy, Humble, Spring, Sugarland, Cinco Ranch, Richmond, Rosenberg
@@HanginWithTheYoungs FACTS I live in sugar Land...
We are Houstonians and we just built our home in Humble/Atascocita area this is considered northeast great place to raise a family with lots and lots of young professional couples its beautiful...Katy is nice but it's is packed out there I 10 west area...sugarland you are going to have a massive amounts of east Indians and isian. Communities...you can build homes from the mid 250's and up some are lower...With that being said WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME to Houston🥰
@@Just-Joyce4009 Summerwood & Balmoral is beautiful. Everything, at your fingertips! Humble Area.

I'm the friend I can ask for myself 😂
I hear you guys 🎼🎵

Hey, you two. Just happened to see this video tonight. Welcome to Houston. It seems as though you're slowly, but surely getting acclimated to the city, I'm glad about that. Not sure if I can offer any assistance. If I can, don't hesitate to hit me up. Hope to hear from you soon. Be safe. Take care.
Houston born awesomenessss
Dope! Thanks for watching
Please dont Chicago my Texas!
Not sure what that means.
Too late.
Maybe keep TX red. Keep out the woke.
I don't think it was a mistake!

I hope y'all don't have allergies /sinus issues because if you too don't you can be desensitized on my goodness and anywhere anyone has covid issues ,etc fill in the blanks and compare where y'all left
