Heidi, you don't know what you do for me. I live in the southern U.S. Ever since I was a little kid, I have longed to go to the UK. My grandparents used to travel around Europe every single year. Wherever they traveled, they always made sure that the UK was on their list. I grew up in the boating community of charleston, South carolina. We moved from there, and in 1985, when I graduated, my grandparents asked me what I wanted for my graduation gift. I said I want to go on your trip with you this summer. They looked at each other and said... we are just going to Wisconsin and Michigan this Summer LOL. It was a great trip, but I was really disappointed that it wasn't the UK. You now give me the best of both worlds. Boating, and the UK. I may never get to come there, but you let me live vicariously. I enjoy a lot of other narrowboat channels, but there is something about yours that really brings light to my heart. My husband teases me and says that I" look forward to Thursdays because that is when my girl Heidi puts out" LOL don't be rude! Thank you so much, Heidi! Love and light and happiness😊

I put it together over a couple of days cruising up the Llangollen then sent it by WhatsApp. There was an opening stanza that Heidi edited (for length) as she often does. Back in the 70s my Dad had a cabin cruiser on that canal, he knew every pub along the way. He served in the Navy in World War 2. Best young years of my life cruising the canals with my Dad.

I know Midnight Oil very well..."Beds are Burning" and grew up with them...very political and very powerful messages in their songs. Love seeing your Mum talk about her days of visiting the Castle and all I can say is that England is so beautiful. I was born in New Zealand and can see some similar scenery as we have in parts of NZ...but Ieft NZ as a kid and ended up on an Island called Norfolk Island...while I might not be a pirate...my descendant took a ship and found Pitcairn Island and hid away from England until found some year's later by Whalers. Yes the famous Mutiny on the Bounty... These boating stories seem to be a big attraction and your commentary and clips are just so enjoyable...not quite the open seas but a beautiful journey up the different streams and locks that take you and us into a new adventure. Extending your tiller - there are a number of woodturners who 'cruise the cut'. The handle-end of your tiller is a turned wooden piece, so with luck you'll be able to charm someone into turning you a slightly longer one, maybe even incorporating some Pirate-themed art. It was really difficult writing this without the fairly obvious smutty innuendos! Good luck, and thanks as always Heidi.
