Man, if Tetras ever get a good kit they'll be an absolute monster, even with Autobomb and the worst special in the game Orion makes it look broken.
Honestly, Tetras would be a top tier meta weapon if it simply had a better special. Auto-bombs aren't all bad, they are very cheap cost wise and can be spammed. Much better then angle shooter, sprinkler, or toxic mist.
@@silxer3154 Yeah, all the other low-ink options are worse for Tetras than autobomb, other than Burst Bomb, but the idea of Tetras with Burst Bomb terrifies me even as someone who's learning Tetras atm.
Otherwise, the only other option is Fizzy Bomb (just 5% more expensive than Autobomb), which is fine, but Tetras typically don't want to be spending time charging up their sub weapon so it wouldn't be the best fit imo.

If there is one thing I love is diversity, we need so much of this in Splatoon 3.

@@vicid1415 weapon diversity, not just vsplash team #47. Id love to see blasters in comp more, and especially brellas. If they ever get the buffs they need to thrive, it will be way more fun to watch.

I hope in the near future, when more kits/ weapons come out, the meta looks more diverse and hopefully balance changes can help to make a shift to having a diverse weapon pool
Unfortunately, what needs to happen more than anything is expansion of the maps and/or the remaining maps being a lot more open than the ones released thus far. Crab wouldn't be as good as it is if 1) it couldn't control the only route to the objective on many maps and 2) people could flank it reliably enough to splat the rider. It would solve other problems too like special spamming being the only reliable way to push in many situations with how few flanking options there are. I hope they address this, but this far into the game's lifespan, I'm not sure they will.
@@torrent5018 sadly true, map design is just so stiff. You'd think 3 games of mechanics and stage objects they'd get experimental and embrace the chaos theming but they keep making standard straightaway style maps.

Seeing a team running no crabs and winning against a team running two crabs brings me immense joy, and Chara's amazing commentary makes it even better!
if nintendo wanted there to be more counters to crab but not actually nerf crab then they have succeeded more than they may have expected
The crab counters definitely work, but I think we can all agree Splash could use a special point nerf of SOME KIND.
@@starmoral5456 Even just going 210 P could work, but reducing the weapon's paint output by a small amount would help too.
How to nerf crab?
1:Decrease its range duration and damage
2: make the rider more vulnerable with start up end lag and make there spot to hit bigger
Nah nerf the offense, but if you run weapons that can kill the rider it’s as easy to do as it should be
Don’t forget Ascension who can run tri Slosher, gal, machine, and heavy. Probably my favorite team out there rn.

There is nothing more meta than the chemistry between Chara and Gem commenting
It feels like some sort of magical crossover episode until I realize, oh yeah, they're both extremely prominent RUclips creators that focus almost exclusively on Splatoon Competitive play, of course that'd happen.

I love this new meta because there are meta weapons that counter meta weapons. For example, Neo Splash, TTek, VShot, and Wiper all counter Crab but also get countered by Crab because of its range and kill time.
So they dont counter crab?
@@havoctastic_ They do it. Think of it as if light is weak to dark and viceversa, just like in an rpg. All the mentioned weapons are good against crab, and also crab is good against them.

The spectator thingy doesn't help with my brain trying to focus on a team to cheer for, but these matches are fun, especially to listen to the both of you two's commentary.

I feel like there should be more variety of specials in these tournaments. The recent Tournemnt I ever seen was basically Crabs and booyahs. I though I was going to see the kraken.

There are only 2 weapons each with those weapons and only 1 viable weapon in each category competitive wise. Need more weapons for those specials to pop up in competitive, 89 is at least super popular in anarchy

I respect any team that has the courage to run things that aren't just top tier picks, it shows they're confident in their skill and their ability to coordinate with each other to get the most synergy out of their weapons

Chara is one of the best commentators I’ve ever listened to
While they still used a Splash weapon, Seafoam not having a single crab is like seeing no Steve in a Smash major; very interesting SF used Slosher instead of Ttek in the third game. Just thinking but can any other Sloshing Machine kit be as good as the current one with Fizzy and Booyah Bomb?

Absolute proof splatoon is easily one of the most balanced series of games I have ever seen.. Even if something is "Meta" it can be easily surpassed with the right use of your team's skill and player options. This was nothing short of a true example of that

Seeing players actually branch off from Crab is nice. Goes to show that there are actually other really good specials now that can counter a Crab. Crab Meta was a thing but now it's fading into dust and diversity is finally showing. At the end of the day, it's not completely about the meta. It's also about how good the team is.

I honestly don't think this doggage on splash is necessary. At no point in any of splatoons history has there NOT been a dominant weapon that just felt stupid to play against. U get rid of splash as the best option another weapon will takes its place and the reason why in the past weapons like range and dynamo saw nerfs quickly is because those weapons seriously could pose problems if they're the weapon dominating the meta. They already have insane hitboxes. The way Nintendo balances this game is that either they make a weapon all around good at everything like shooters or they give a weapon this insane quality whilst also giving them a very noticeable flaw
