Amazing sound
I heard this song on a random Spotify playlist a while back, loved it, but forgot to save it and never could find it again. Then I was catching up on videos from you that I had missed over the last couple months and as soon as it came on I was so god damn happy to figure out this was the song. Immediately added it to the playlist and will continue checking in on their page to see if they released anything new. Absolutely love these guys.

Josh, absolutely love your content and so glad you reacted to this. Time, The Valuator have released one of my favorite tracks of all time in the song Starseeker. It’s absolutely mesmerizing. And I’m so happy with the direction Phil and Marv (the guitarist of Floya, he is also in Alazka) are going with this new project as they are releasing such amazing music and I could not be happier and psyched for their new music when it comes!

I'm pretty sure the initial plan for Time the Valuator was to sound like this, I know the singer didn't want them to be too heavy. But when they got together to write their first single Elusive Reasons, the guitarist came up with that dope riff and they built the whole song around that. Which undoubtedly shaped how the band was going to sound from thereout. Which lines up with the fact the singer left TTV for creative differences.

You're right. 100% the tape on the cymbals is to mute them a little bit, will stop them ringing out so long. Same thing as applying moon gel to your drum skins really.

Tape deadening on the cymbals does help band members ears but also makes it easier for videographer/editor to piece the video together with the music during the editing process I believe
If you like the guitar sounds, check out the band ALAZKA, they broke up and the drummer and the guitarist plays in this band.
ALAZKA has similar vibes but in a bit heavier way

Can you have a look at a band call The Warning. Is a Mexican rock band with 3 sisters.
Bands specifically want to deaden their cymbals for the sake of the other band members and crew while they're filming music videos.
