Steve, our tastes are lining up so nicely as of late! I would love to see you do more of Time the Valuator when you have a chance, as well as Tesseract since you mention them. Also, given several bands that I know you like...I wonder if you've ever reacted to Rendezvous Point (has the drummer from Leprous, who you know is a beast!), or Revaira (has a lot of what you were complimenting in T-the-V...strong melodies too!), or a band called Disperse? I think you would immensely enjoy all of these.
I love that I’ve got you subconsciously thinking about The Dear Hunter and Aviations 😆 Great commentary. I have been a casual TTV listener for a few years now, but these two songs were new to me and they were absolute bangers. I found them back when they released Starseeker (ruclips.net/video/O99ZmbqufVw/видео.html) which became my go-to song for testing out new speakers and headphones for a while. Absolutely adore that song and you’d love it too. The ONLY thing this band doesn’t have going for them is consistency in vocalists. This is their third vocalist in about 5 years, if I’m not mistaken. I have no idea if it’s just bad luck or if there’s some issues with creative chemistry, but I really dig this new singer’s tone. I would love for them to find their stride and focus entirely on creating compelling music like this instead of spending their energy on recruiting new members. Here’s hoping he sticks around because this was special. Also, “a mosquito’s mustache” got a real good lol out of me.
