@@alswearengen6427 It matters because in 2016 the media smeared Bernie as having only support from young white man (that is where the "Bernie Bro" trope came from). More importantly it matters because it shows that he has a platform for ALL people and brings the real unity (you know, the establishment abuses the term 'unity' whenever they want to silence progressives. Pelosi does that often for example.)
Not so fun fact: now CNN has pundits on saying his support is 'too urban'. We all know what that means. And not only was that obviously meant to be racist, it's also not true when looked at as a regional thing: Bernie's support is coming from rural and from urban areas. The only people who dislike him are billionaires and people who fell for billionaire propaganda.

@@popcultureworld1096 I'm sorry? Both are being ignored, firstly, there's a reason why people refer to his lack of coverage as a 'Bernie Blackout'. Secondly, while I'm not bashing Yang, he certainly brings some ideas to the table that were sorely needed, like UBI, Bernie is in no way a 'mindless politician', and isn't a 'fossil fuel' just because he's old. He's been campaigning for progressive ideas we sorely need since his debut in the political world. He's been arrested for supporting the civil rights act. He stood up for LGBTQ+ rights in the _90s._ He's been constantly campaigning for common sense reform, like medicare for all, since the very beginning. Back in 2016, if you'll recall, people used to scoff at M4A and call it 'pie in the sky', but now it's actually a serious proposal that 70% of Americans support, in polls where it's framed objectively and doesn't intentionally use buzz words to get reactionary responses. That's all because of _his_ efforts to shift the overton window. Even if you disagree with his policies, you have to admit Bernie is one of the most influential candidates of all time. Yang certainly contributed to shifting the window so that we may focus on better policies, don't get me wrong, I'm not excluding his efforts, but he's a newcomer compared to Bernie and hasn't had time to influence. Just because Bernie's old doesn't mean he's establishment. Go ahead, compare Bernie with an actual fossil, like Biden; one is clearly a million times more progressive than the other.
@Raymond Flores lol when did he? My country was never invaded. Nor do USA intend to. Pakistan was an ally of USA. And still we have moderate relationship with US.
Plans to bankrupt the Country? We're 30 Trillion in debt as a Country. Even if we froze every government program for 10 years, we'd still be in debt. Bernie wants to INCREASE this lunacy, until we're all living in a Great Depression. Until we're ALL poor in Food Lines trying to feed our family. Yes, there are rich and poor in America. There's also a Middle Class, and easy mobility between the classes. Most people in the top 1% today won't die in the 1% they'll fall out of it. Same for many of the Poorest Americans, by the time they die one of their Kids may be a Doctor and they're no longer poor. We have mobility, in Sanders America we'll all be poor with no chance of upward mobility.
I like Bernie but I have a huge problem with his wealth tax- I just don't think that it's going to work or that it is the right approach for America. Which of his plans do you think makes him stand out particularly from the competition?
I love Bernie’s laugh; it’s genuine and everything about him is authentic. He’s a good man, not a brand. Have you noticed how Trump never enjoys a good laugh? No sense of humor.

The problem is he hasn't thought any of his policies through. Some even to the point on how he'll pay for them. I'm voting Andrew Yang. Because even if you are a Bernie fan, Yang will do what Bernie only talks about doing. Give the middle and lower classes more power.

@@GiancarloP93 Okay, well I have looked at the failures of capitalism throughout history and it is scary. Furthermore the USA is a already a socialistic and capitalistic hybrid. There is an intelligent way in what should and should not be a public good. For example, military, fire, police, public schools, national power grid, roads, etc are all public goods, aka socialism. I am sure you love driving your private car on public roads. Public schools used to be private. We had a huge illiteracy rate which also brought up crime. Also the fire department was private. they would literally let you family die while your house was on fire and refuse to put the fire out and rescue the people inside if you did not pay the private fire department. So it is ludicrous that we allow 43,000 people to die every year in the USA from curable medical conditions simply because they can not pay for medical treatment. Unless you are okay with that, then you need some serious help and empathy classes. I also would rather pay $6,000 in taxes per year than $12,736 to private insurance companies and tens to hundreds of thousands going bankrupt if I need something major done. That to me is crazy stupid since we all need medical insurance. So, history shows that 100% pure capitalism failures as well if you actually look. Also socialism does not equal communism. That is all.

I'm from Norway and we have leaders like him. He's emulating well. He could save the American people, at the cost of America's stronghold on the world economy and military power.
Yeah, he has to battle for votes because most people are too lazy to really dig and research the candidates, and they end up supporting someone that doesn't even represent them as well as another candidate could.
@FLAG BANDIT if you are a millionaire it won't. But if you are like most of us then things would get easier. More money in your neighbor's pocket means you live in a better neighborhood.
Kimmel's boss is Bob Iger (Disney owns ABC), Bob Iger hates Bernie Sanders because Bernie called him out and demanded better workers rights for the people that have to work at Disneyland. You can see a brief exchange that kind of sums it up: "To Bernie Sanders: We created 11,000 new jobs at Disneyland in the past decade, and our company has created 18,000 in the U.S. in the last five years. How many jobs have you created? What have you contributed to the U.S. economy?" Iger wrote. Sanders had railed against Disney during a campaign event in Anaheim on Tuesday. "Anybody make a living wage working for Disney?" Sanders asked the crowd. "It's an example of what we're talking about when we talk about a rigged economy." Kimmel probably wants to keep his late show and get paid, can't be upsetting the boss. They have him on there because they can't just blindly ignore him and it makes sense for the Brooklyn episode. All mainstream media wants to tear Bernie down, all these people that you watch get their paychecks from them. That's what we're up against. @@oneeyedking7465 There are no pure socialist or pure capitalist states. America has lots of socialist programs. From the standing military that is supported by taxpayer funds which has generated the most powerful military in the world, you just can't have a capitalist military, those are called mercenaries. We have Medicare for seniors, public libraries, public educational institutions which despite faults due to lack of proper funding and external economic issues in many communities has been perhaps arguably the most profound educational undertaking in human history that tripled literacy rates in the country since 1940. If capitalism was the primary force in education, likely either the wealthy elite or religious institutions would run education, which would denigrate any form of secular learning. Those are the pluses of socialism. The faults of socialism is when collectively the people seize the means of production and remove private enterprise. That is where capitalism is good. Its good for private enterprise to remain in labor, service, and banking markets. Competition between businesses with low startup capital keeps prices down in industry. That means competitive loans from various banking institutions, competitive pricing and development in infrastructure, and competition in service markets to make sure customers get good quality goods. Socialism prioritizes the worker, capitalism prioritizes the consumer. Both have great vices and great virtues. The best solution is a quasi socialist-capitalist state just like the U.S.A was right after World War II until financial deregulation during the 80's.

Edit: And just in case you are one of these people employing the classic Hayek / "Road to Serfdom" argument, all of those authoritarian communist countries made the crucial mistake of not reforming the state apparatus. Russia had a brutal oppressive security infrastructure well before the revolution and as I've already stated state ownership of production is the last thing modern day socialists want (and there always was a huge split within the socialist movement regarding this question). Contemporary socialist thinking centers on establishing both democraticly organised workplaces and directly worker owned bussinesses. Let me clear up some of the common misunderstandings of contemporary socialist policies. There will still be competition (but propably a little bit less severe which will lead to better health outcomes and happiness among the population). There will still be some kind of economic inequality (hence there is still reward for working hard, and both sociology and psychology shows us that above a certain amount payment has no positive effect on being productive - some studies even show the opposite, comparative economic analysis between countries even shows us that CEO pay has nothing to do with actual performance but is influenced by other factors, even among mainstream economists it is widely understood that CEO pay structures tied to "performace" have a negative impact on long term viability of an enterprise) Underconsumption crises will be dealt with or at least will be less severe in a system were money doesn't unstoppably flow towards the top percentile. Believe it or not, but at the core of the 2008 crisis was the attempt of the capitalits dealing with underconsumption with extensive credit. There were less and less productive ways to actually invest the money that had previously been given to the workers. Too much capital within the system caused the stock markets and housing markets to soar. And when the average worker didn't have enough money to sustain the profits the capitalists expected the market crashed (it doesn't follow that this is the exclusive reason, there certainly are others).
@@GiancarloP93 Sooo, since you took the liberty to write "SPECIFICALLY" in tall letters i won't even bother because every example I'd bring up will not be SPECIFICALLY enough for you. And just for the record, I didn't talk about failing, that's subjective, I talked about countries were people fled from. You discard any outside influence in socialist countries. Let's just be honest, there are always a multitude of reasons why a country is failing (there are better implementations of socialism just like there are better implementations of capitalism). But there is one thing that always fails, a system that doesn't limit the power of a certain group of people, there were implementations of socialism where this happens, there are implementations of capitalism where it happens, ironically the limitation of power is usually called socialism in the US anyway. Because it's outright heretic to say that money equals power and therefore undermines democracy, at least in elite circles.
@@GiancarloP93 There are literally Millions fleeing their respective African countries to a large extent because land is privatised and used to grow Plants that are more profitable on the international markets or because of money that is extracted out of their economies and transfered to tax havens. One has to be an idiot to think one couldn't come up with an example. But I am sure that doesn't count because it isn't the sole factor contributing to it... that's usually the argument people bring up. And you will never find a single example that is only pure economics. I could make lengthy arguments about anything you might bring up about socialist countries people fled. So I guess there is no merrit in debating it further. I had literally 20 discussions about the same topic and that's time I will never get back...
@@GiancarloP93 I would gladly talk about the benefits of certain economic structures versus their deficiencies. What I am not interested in is the age old discussion with people who do not understand contemporary socialism one bit. I hate the soviet union and I have no interest to discuss their system for the 167st time. And actually their economic system was quite succesfull at least until the 1960s. There are very few countries who accomplished to sustain the growth the soviet Union had before WWII.
@The You Tuba That's just not true. Kimmel (this one) has always been fair. He was fair towards Clinton too but compare him for example to Fallon. Fallon never had a positive thing to day about Bernie. Colbert and Kimmel are corporate media for sure and need to kowtow the line but are more left wing in heart than other late night hosts.
Colbert also is more of a centrist. He shitted hard on Bernie in 2016 and was way nicer to Clinton. I think Kimmel is another kind of guy. Somewhere between Colbert and Seth Meyers who challenges his guests in the correct way like Meghan McCain. Also look at the recaps of the debates. The ones from Seth Meyers were the best by far. Colbert did not even Mention how Kamala Harris got grilled by Tulsi Gabbard in the second or third debate.

The crowd at Queens Bridge Park was diverse on all accounts. And above all, they were all very kind. Was a great day :))
Why does it matter how diverse the crowd was?

@Raymond Flores Very obvious trolling, dude. Try not to suck so much.
hahahaahahahahaha
Chris Lane no, ANDREW YANG is being ignored. Bernie is just another mindless politician fossil fuel. Jimmy kimmel is a rude, horrible host.

Kimmel's boss is Bob Iger (Disney owns ABC), Bob Iger hates Bernie Sanders because Bernie called him out and demanded better workers rights for the people that have to work at Disneyland. You can see a brief exchange that kind of sums it up:
"To Bernie Sanders: We created 11,000 new jobs at Disneyland in the past decade, and our company has created 18,000 in the U.S. in the last five years. How many jobs have you created? What have you contributed to the U.S. economy?" Iger wrote.
Sanders had railed against Disney during a campaign event in Anaheim on Tuesday.
"Anybody make a living wage working for Disney?" Sanders asked the crowd. "It's an example of what we're talking about when we talk about a rigged economy."
Kimmel probably wants to keep his late show and get paid, can't be upsetting the boss. They have him on there because they can't just blindly ignore him and it makes sense for the Brooklyn episode. All mainstream media wants to tear Bernie down, all these people that you watch get their paychecks from them. That's what we're up against. It's all about getting rid of these oligarchs and big industries and bring power back to the people. Just something to keep in mind for anyone that took time to read this. Follow the money.
I disagree. Socialism and freedom do not mix

The truth is that the dems helped Trump get elected by cheating Bernie in 2016, and they will gladly do it again. @@GiancarloP93 Yeah, and a big part of the reason is US interference (covertly or openly)! There is a reason why most people around the world see the US as the biggest threat to peace. And I could make a pretty huge list of capitalist countries people fled from in the past 50 years, but that apparently doesn't invalidate capitalism for those who think it's great. Did you know that not a single major country in the world has managed to become an economic power by being purely - or even mostly - free enterprise oriented? Every single economicly leading country that promotes free trade and free enterprise today, had taken a very different path to becoming wealthy. Maybe you should read books regarding the history of economics. Most people trashing socialism (what that means is always quite dubious) have no idea how modern day "socialists" actually envision an economy. Extensive state planing is thoroughly discreditet in most circles for at least 30 years, but propably much more.
Secondly, Sanders will not implement everything he might view favourably personally. He has to work with congress. But for some people every little development that might help struggling families will inevitably lead to an authoritarian communist regime. Have fun fighting your strawmen while the serious people actually try to change things for the better.
There will still be some kind of economic inequality (hence there is still reward for working hard, and both sociology and psychology shows us that above a certain amount payment has no positive effect on being productive - some studies even show the opposite, comparative economic analysis between countries even shows us that CEO pay has nothing to do with actual performance but is influenced by other factors, even among mainstream economists it is widely understood that CEO pay structures tied to "performace" have a negative impact on long term viability of an enterprise)
Underconsumption crises will be dealt with or at least will be less severe in a system were money doesn't unstoppably flow towards the top percentile.
PLEASE MAKE THIS MAN PRESIDENT, AMERICA, WE ARE BEGGING YOU
Signed,
The Rest of the World
Absolutely
Hear here -- the world for Bernie!
From Portugal. I confirm.
Begging to share in the shortages that socialism creates...how crazy
@@sherilynvincent4278 Socialism can create abundance, so why think necessarily shortages. Pray you tell us and plz give examples, or even 1 e.g.
I really like Jimmy Kimmel, he seems to not Care about the corporate media pressure
@@iamdanyboy1 Fallon honestly helped deliver us Trump. That's what we get for him stealing Conan's rightful job.
Maybe this interview will help him see what we can do if we unite firmly.
RobertDoosh research Clinton trump pied piper strategy. It's all clintons fault.
What a beautiful man, I absolutely love him and would be so proud to have him as our President.
This man has inspired me so much that I’m considering running for Congress and that’s on the real! 👑
Hearing Bernie talk warms my heart. This man is a saint
"I'm Willing to Fight for Someone I Don't Know" - Bernie Sanders
✊ Damn it! That speech was soooo inspiring. 🤩
As any human should.
Paul Woo Bernie is a good man but Andrew Yang for President
Norberto Morales I like Andrew Yang but half of the country still has never heard of him. So 2020 isn’t for Yang!
shurednichso I know, right? The corporate media has been forcing the centrist dems to our throats, it was Kamala and Beto, then Pete and Joe. Pete is making a come back now unfortunately.
My President 💜💜💜💜🇺🇸
He's the best! Love Jimmy and Bernie!
Mine too!!!!
Diana Cabrera me too girl!!!
never going to happen pick someone who can win and is not trump.
Imagine AOC as Bernie's VP.
Ever noticed how Trump never _actually_ laughs but Bernie just looks happy to be there? 😏🙏🖖
Because he can't believe you're all falling for his Santa Clause routine.
@@gdobservation Trump as Santa? Lol well maybe
Doll, a lot of it is an age thing and a coming of age thing. I laugh more than I ever have; I don't take minutia seriously and I understand most things are irrelevant. Oh, I am 66. We don't necessarily have to grow "old". Some of us grow into life and allow whatever happens to happen - I also see the end nearing and I don't really care
