An example is Apple... only people that don't know better are willing to pay an extra 300 to 400$ (or more) than the real-life product cost. And so Capitalism became what most Americans fear the most: a class and sub-class dividing system, that doesn't drive economy and the overall society (buying power, knowledge, real technological advancements) forward based on a meritocracy and practical method, but instead became kind of a backwards subverted version of Communism itself where the status of owning that product became more important than the real-life production cost and innovation of that same product... and i gotta say, i do love my 60-70$ Nike and Adidas sneakers outside the US XD
