Eartha Kitt has the most incredible raspy voice. She holds no boundaries when performing this tune is tame. I grew up listening to her #1
I was fortunate to see Ms. Kitt live. She was in her seventies at the time. She came on stage wearing a silver lame gown, and you could hear the crowd gasp.....it was breathtaking, she looked so beautiful.....and she then proceeded to do one and a half hours of pure entertainment. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Body and legs built to amaze an audience with its light brown glow (and developed through dance lessons and her time with the Katherine Dunham Dance Troupe). Brains that engineered defiance against racism and an unpopular war (Vietnam). Love that raised an only child into womanhood (Kitt Shapiro). All this in a life that lasted 81 years. May Queen Eartha rest in peace, power, and beauty. I love you.
