  • This is a casual ride through the suburbs. There are some lines that I am stoked on in here.

    That tire tap 3 on that enclosure was so sweet. Your riding is inspiring. Maybe time to throw a front brake on my Eastern .

    Hi James, Was wondering what PSI you run in your pike for your weight, I have ridden a dirt jumper for years and wanna get into the trialsy side of life and you have convinced me I can make due with my DJ and not buy a trials bike. Love your videos, they are the right kind of vlog, no BS about stuff not in the video, and a more personal documentation of going on solo rides.

      Thanks! I can't wait to get back out on this bike when winter is no more. When I got the fork I pumped it up to 175psi. I weigh 160ish pounds. I haven't topped it up since haha!

    Superb! Have you ever tried to do wall tyre slide from top to bottom on that angled thingy amongst grass, where you did up to front?

    Dose the bigger rear sprocket help or can you do the same with the smaller jump bike sprocket

      Trials requires a light gear. It helps a lot.

    Awesome as always!
    Why don't you use a tensioner which has a single cog that can be adjusted in/outward with only an 5mm allen key? That way you wouldn't need to move the hub every time you swich gears!

    • @np8443
      @np8443 5 лет назад

      your heel would hit it. the chainstays are very short. i tried with the surly tensioner.

    • @jamesbtrials
      @jamesbtrials  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks! I wanted to have no tensioner for trials to help avoid snapping the der hanger on side hops.

    Is a stock DJ bike good for practicing trials moves ? Just make sure it has 2 brakes ? Is standard gear ratio good on a DJ bike ?

    • @dieterplaetinck4431
      @dieterplaetinck4431 4 года назад

      This “old school street trials bike” looks a lot like a DJ bike right ?

    • @jamesbtrials
      @jamesbtrials  4 года назад

      @@dieterplaetinck4431 It is a DJ bike. The Trek Ticket. Only changes to a regular DJ is the gear ratio and strong brakes. A standard DJ is great for learning trials. Just change those two things.

    Dear sir thank you very much for your videos !
    I love the idea of a « do it all » bike
    Do you think that a trek ticket S can make the same job ?

    • @jamesbtrials
      @jamesbtrials  4 года назад

      tripotteetmascagne the rear suspension makes trials and skateparks/pump tracks more difficult. That bike is really made for huge slope jumps. I could ride it, but for now I prefer a hard tail for this type of riding.

      Thank you very much for your answerThat’s what I was thinking but the higher BB the longer wheelbase and the possibility to lock the shock makes me hesitating.....congratulations or your videos I love watching them
