  • My front porch area is finally done! I love how it all turned out and can't wait to see how everything fills in. Summer is just about here, now if only we could have a little more sunshine and not quite as much rain (I know I will be wishing for the rain again during the heat of the summer!).

    Everything turned out so sweet & cute! When repotting into containers, I try to layer a coffee filter or two over the drainage holes before adding soil. It keeps the dirt from washing out of the holes. I love your grouping choices for your containers!

      Thank you! That’s a great idea that I always forget about! It’s so funny because I always put saucers down but realized I didn’t in this video! I guess I was too busy trying to film and work at the same time haha!

    Your front yard and porch look beautiful! That little table was worth all the work. After having had a long nursing career, my knees are shot, and I can no longer kneel down to put annuals into the ground. So...I now put all my annuals into pots to put on my front porch, back deck and scatter throughout my gardens! Where there is a will, there is a way! 🥀💗🥀

      Thank you Debbie! Oh man I'm so sorry you have to deal with aching knees. Congratulations on the nice long nursing career! You have a great outlook and planting annuals in containers is a great solution! Whatever you need to do to still do what you love! I was an occupational therapist for awhile so I say adapt your garden activities as much as you need to in order to still do what you enjoy haha!

    Beautiful home and garden. Be watchful with the Ajuga. They are very aggressive spreaders..I still have them popping up in areas I did not plant them. Happy Gardening.

    I use Brick clamps to hang everything on the outside of my brick house. I get them at Lowe’s. I’m sure other hardware stores would have them. They are really easy to find around Christmas time. If you can’t find them I would mail you one.

    • @onegardenatathyme
      @onegardenatathyme  4 месяца назад

      Thank you so much for that offer! I actually ordered brick clamps but our mortar is risen so they don't have enough to grab onto. I may try using a command hook up at the ceiling and hanging it with some clear fishing line. Thank you so much for watching!

    My favorite is the eugenia in the terracotta pot near the front door. It all look fresh and ready for the season. I have always thought of sunflowers as a fall flower, but it looks great in your door basket.

      I do love the eugenia too especially when it fills out! I know I used to only use them in the fall, but I think they are a summer flower too, especially since I grow them in the summer! Thank you so much for watching!

    I just found your channel, and loved what you've done with your flower garden, and front porch! For your front porch's little house with a flower in it, it would look nice with a smaller clay pot to match your other flower pots there. To hang your star, you could put a nail above the brick in the wood, and hang it down the wall with a wire. I live in SE Pennsylvania, not too far from Maryland. I subscribed and will enjoy watching you plant and dream flowers! I've been a flower gardener since I was a child. It's my passion.
