Michael - Terrific tutorial - I’ve read so much conflicting info that I was terrified and about putting down premergent incorrectly! Your explanation has given me renewed hope I can do this properly - keep up the fantastic work (from Lawrenceville GA)
Thank you for being detailed. some youtubers do not show the results after it has been sprayed or how to use. Update - I sprayed the Image purple bottle WOW it killed alot of the weeds. I was terrified to use it, but happy I did 😊
Thank you so much! I'm thinking ahead to November weeds. Would love to see a video of you and your wife showing how to squeeze and put up orange juice. Your drawl makes me smile!
Apply 007 and water 💦 in asap. Then read the image label to see how long to wait before image needs to watered in. note 📝 image should be applied to a dry lawn.
Great video keep up the good work I will definitely try this Looks like The temperature will be in the 80s in Mississippi for the holidays wow crazy weather GO Patriots
Thanks for your videos, I appreciate the knowledge. I live in PA and never did a winter pre-emergent before on my tall fescue lawn. In November I put down the 0.68 Lesco 007 and will then do my typical application with the same product in late March or early April, depending on soil temps. Looking forward to seeing how it works. Had a big Poa problem for the first time ever this past summer and hoping the two applications make a difference.
@@robertlevy4613 too early to tell. Soil temps are still in the 40s so theoretically weeds are still dormant. One unrelated issue that I seem to be having is grubs, which I never had over winter before. Several areas of my backyard are chewed up so I just put some sone grub control. Not sure if it's too late or not
Hi Michael. Thanks for all the videos. They're very helpful. I live in the West End, in Southwest Atlanta, and the weather looks like it's starting to transition. Is it too late to spray Image Kills Nutsedge on my Bermuda lawn that I had installed last May? I've got a lot of Nutsedge and Poa Annua growing in it. I didn't apply a pre-emergent on it before winter because I thought I was supposed to wait at least a year. Thanks for any insights you can share.
If it’s your first application you may have missed a few weed that have already germinated but there are some you can still control or prevent. Apply ASAP.
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral thanks for the reply back. I will do it right away! So I'll start with 0-0-7 Lesco stonewall then after six weeks i'll do 30-0-5 Lesco dimension? That sound ok? BTW Subscribed!
I dislike using the hose is there a way I can add the hose spray solution to my backpack. What would be the water to solution ratio if I'm using a backpack?
Thanks for the video BYD! I used this in the fall and really saw a lot less Poa than I had last year this time. My one question is...with a 50 pound bag I only have 3,200 sq ft. At the high end I would use 15 pounds I believe (5 pounds per 1k sq ft) Do you usually measure it out on a scale or something like that?
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral I have the Scott's Mini Edge guard. So if I put it on the setting they recommend and use the full bag it would come out to the correct amount per sq ft?
Hey Glenna! I too have a centipede yard, and found that the red label Image ( used by BYD today) is much more effective than the Purple Label Image for Centipede/ St. Aug. They both work kinda slow, especially when it’s cooler. Hope you find this helpful! Best of luck!
Lesco 007 is not available in Houston area. Can I use scotts Crabgrass and Grassy weed preventor instead? Or is there any other substitute you recommend?
First year applying a pre emergent on a fairly small yard. I have a Scotts Whirl handheld and will be using the Yard Mastery pre emergent in the purple and white bag. Any suggestions on what my setting should be
Although there’s no true settings I always set mine on 3. Note they say it can hold 1, 800 wizz up to 2,500 square ft. So know your sq feet 🦶 of your lawn. Over applying a little bit on your BermudaGrass won’t hurt. Just make sure it’s uniformly covered and you are good 👍🏾
BYD, my bermuda grass is dormant of course. I put down the lesco crabgrass control and some areas have dark stripes in the yard after applied. Is this normal. I live in NC.
Hi BYD, Its March 1st today and wondering if I should purchase the Lesco 0-0-7 with prodiamine or should I get the sunnyland weed and feed for St. Augustine lawns 20-0-6 Weed Feed Weed Control Fertilizer? I have St. Augustine with lots of winter weeds. I already have Image and MSM to use as a liquid mixture. What are your thoughts, suggestions in this scenario?
I personally wouldn’t use the Weed and Feed unless it’s actively growing. Remember 007 is not a weed killer it’s a weed preventer. But 007 with Prodiamine and weed killer for your type of lawn if it is not greening
@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral correct on the 007. I put that down today as a pre-emergent for the warm season weeds. Then I’m considering throwing down Anderson’s balanced 10-10-10. I already have small areas that appear to be coming out of dormancy.
How often can I apply the Image winter weed killer? The bottle says weeds will be killed after 4-5 weeks. If I still have weeds or I have new weeds can I reapply after a month? Also how late in the year can I reapply to Bermuda grass in Ga?
Last Fall, my Bermuda turned yellow before any of my neighbors did. I used a spray, like Image for Bermuda and 007. Neighbors used nothing. Did I use too much weed preventer or do something wrong?
Not sure 🤔, possibly your property is shaded. Maybe to hot and dry on your lawn. But that’s shouldn’t affect long term health of the lawn. You could’ve possibly apply to much image , example you sprayed a whole bottle that covers 8k on 3k square ft. That could stress the lawn also.

If it’s California I have no idea, you guys have prop 69 so chemicals are limited.
Can I use image red label on fescue grass?
No. It will either kill the fescue or damage it. Red Label image is for Warm Season Grasses.
That new Imagine bottle did give me problem by not spraying the chemicals even though it was on.
I dislike using the hose is there a way I can add the hose spray solution to my backpack. What would be the water to solution ratio if I'm using a backpack?
2.5 oz per gallon

You can but in my experience is was a messy event. To much water 💦 out put. Works better in a backpack sprayer or tank sprayer.

What can be used for insects during pre emergent?
You can use a granular formula
How does image work on cheatgrass that's already grown
I keep my grass long to crowd out and hide. Can I still put the pre emergence down or does it need to be short.
