Good podcast @52 minutes. Give the people what they want predator hunting talk. All I’m saying is if we started breaking out the props on set…..showing people what they are and how to use them…maybe even some history or hunting stories, now that would be great! Sterling is an awesome guest for hand calling, Wade just needs to let him talk a bit lol. Glad the dude offset was quiet. Thumbs up could be a hint better

I try buying us made. It's very difficult because they desguise it under a us company.
Hunting reticle 2nd focal plain. The vast majority do not shoot long range. BDC tick marks.
“BDC tick marks” are useless. Scope manufacturers make all these claims like “BDC reticle made for .223” or “Made for .308”…etc
It is insane to even advertise that way for several reasons. Even if you are using it on the advertised caliber…
- What grain weight bullet?
- What barrel length?
- What ammo manufacturer?
- What barrel twist?
- Elevation?
- Temperature?
- Humidity?
Not all ammo is created equal. Not all rifles are created equal. Not every scenario is the same. Etc etc etc…
They key to any scope and rifle combo is this:
- Use the same ammo all the time
- Shoot a lot and practice
- Keep notes on your DOPE
- Understand ballistics and how wind, temperature, humidity, elevation, etc all play into shooting.
Some “BDC” reticle is not going to make you a better shot.
@bwillis1978 If you are hunting all over the country with different weight bullets, you're correct.
95% of hunters are hunting one or two animals in the same spot year after year. I can write down and get familiar with the distance my favorite deer bullet intersects each BDC line and place a better shot!
@@waynemensen4252i understand your point when put that way. For me, it wouldn’t be a great option and I guess that’s why I replied as I did.
I’m hunting in West Texas this week, Colorado next week and North Dakota the week after. Same rifle, same ammo. Totally different ballistic performance in each location.
