In anything that includes an Endless Swarm you should always add a Hive Mind to set up the Great Snake Mistake. It won't happen often, but forcing everyone at the table to spawn snakes forever is possibly one of the funniest things you can do in a game of Commander and if you have Kaseto out when you pull it off it's Good Game.
I hope this doesn't get buried, but there are several cards listed in the video that do not appear in the decklist: Mystic Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Wasteland Viper, Death-Hood Cobra, and River Boa just to name a few (there are more). Am I missing something Professor?
I personally really enjoyed this video because when I first started Magic, I purchased a few tournament packs from the Kamigawa block and was excited to get (what I felt) a super synergistic and powerful assortment of snakes. I assembled myself a deck, and was completely let down with how weak it was without the powerhouse legendary cards. This video gave me new hope for my snake nostalgia!
I have taken your advice when asked to watch older videos. Little moments like revealing the theme of the deck at 2:30 reminds the audience of the brilliance that made this RUclips channel so popular. Keep rocking Prof, THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS for the VIDEOSSSSSSSSSSS (Kassssseto sssssnake flavor aCCCCCCCCCent)
I was building a snake tribal deck before I knew about Kaseto being a potential commander. Now that I have Kaseto, I wanted to make a Kaseto commander deck, but I did not want to waste the blue for just a couple of snakes. This video helps me with building my Kaseto deck, thanks.
I actually built and purchased a deck yesterday around Kaseto. What a coincidence that a video comes out today about him. My list ended up being very similar to yours, although now I think I need more ramp. A few cards that I put into mine are Molting Skin for another source of regeneration that you don't have to pay for to activate, Reality Shift for more removal, and Outland Colossus just as a huge finisher.
Hi Professor, I love that you posted this video today, because it paralleled me culling down my 11 decks to 7 ... and Ezuri, both the new one and my Elf Tribal, bit the dust. The Simic Ezuri lost more than any other deck, with a 1 and 6 record. This certainly gives me some ideas. Alright ... I'm going to the binder to find the commanders I always wanted to build but never have and see what you think. - Hokori, Dust Drinker - Jaya Ballard, Task Mage - Arjun, the Shifting Flame - Bladewing the Risen - Grenzo, Dungeon Keeper - Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer - Ob Nixilis, Unshackled - Asmira, Holy Avenger - Tibor and Lumia (this was actually the first deck I ever tried to build, but it was not great)
+bdablader95 Nah Kalia by experience is one of the most played generals and also most hated if the deck is built out, fun for you until your play group just groans and refuses to play with you. I find she`s a trap for newer EDH players as she seems awesome with all the dragon/demon/angel mumbo jumbo and she rightfully is, but I see far too many newer EDH players play a weak version of her only to get immediately hated on, kind of like Zur or the original kozilek
+Dave Zom She's actually ridiculously powerful once built out and hardly loses on 1v1 non-french rules, the only way I shut my Khalia friend down was with my Oloro hard control and I always made sure to keep 2 counters in my hand just for her. Once Khalia can't get onto the battlefield its pretty much gamer over for the Khalia player, but if they can squeeze her in its almost pretty much game over for Khalia's opponent. It's a primary reason she gets alot of community hate. Also Khalia isnt Boros shes B/W/R not just W/R
Well, she's really easy, you just cram in your best Angels (Avacyn), Dragons (Bogardon Hellkite) and Demons (um, Griselbanned?) and start swinging with Kaalia! Easy and effective!
Yessss I love that you did Kaseto. I always had a love for snake tribal ever since it was orginial ly a 60 green white build. Since I saw that commander came out I was in love. For my build I went close to the same route with some more tribal touch. A few of the other synergistic snakes in Kamigawa do provide protection like Kashi-Tribe Elite. Thank you.
I'm a big fan of the Kamigawa Snakes. I really love the flavor and I'm really happy to see that someone with so much experience recommended many cards I planned for the deck. I recommend Stolen Identity, Sakashima the Impostor, Skullwinder and Druids' Repository. Stolen Identity works well with Kasetos Ability and you can copy any Snake (except Legends) or copy Snake Baskets Swiftboots and other Keycards fro your or the opponent deck. And the Skullwinder has one downside but if your opponent has no cards in his or her graveyard you could just return an awesome Manaramp card and play it again. Sakashima is quite awesome to double Legends like Seshiro or the Patron. I got the idea from my atemp to build a 60 card-Dnake Deck in blue green. But I still wait for the green blue tango-land for the Patron. Druids' Repository make use of the Tokens produced by Snake Basket and Orochi Hatchery meaning one can attack with all creatures producing the mana to activate Kasetos Ability for half of them.
I would love to see a Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest sacrifice matters build, or an Athreos deck! Thanks for all the hard work and dedication you put into these videos, Professor. :)
I would love to see a Tasigur deck tech, he is an amazing commander, in many ways, he is also very open-ended, from a power-delve or dredge build, to reanimator or combo, even control, he is a lovely choice of commander, also you get the added benefit of him being a tri-colored commander in what is probably the most powerful color combination.
Sachi, Daughter of Seshiro does not allow all snakes to tap for green. She allows all shamans to tap for green. She is still worth having in this build, but overall not the best choice if you end up going full snake tribal.
I would really like to see another tri-color commander. Good ones would be Animar, Kresh, Rafiq, and The Mimeoplasm. Another fun one would be Phelddagrif, my personal favorite. I love these commander videos and I hope to see more! Keep up the good work!
Dear professor, I would love to see a similar video on the Commander Mizzix of the Izmagnus featured in the 2015 izzet deck. I love your channel and especially your critical analysis on MTG products. Thank you so much for all your hard work and the time dedicated to make us not only better players but also customers with more awareness on our, often costly, MTG purchases. Best regards and take care.
Ayli! She's a surprisingly great play. My primary colors I enjoy are Temur, so I built her more as an experiment, but she has been working fantastically!
I would enjoy seeing an EDH deck on Lovisa, Coldeyes from the Coldsnap Set. She is an under appreciated Commander who's mono red base gives the deck a solid foundation to work with. She is also cheap, making her an excellent budget option for those seeking to get into Commander without breaking the bank. Plus she's unexpected, making her a great psychological tool to use against your opponent(s).
I always hear people talking about how Boros is one of the weaker combinations to play in EDH, so I'd love to see your take on a RW deck (any commander). Or, in honor of the new Wastes from OGW, a colorless deck tech would be cool, either an Eldrazi build with one of the titans or artifacts headed by Karn.
I love this deck! I run Cephalid Constable, Hydra Omnivore and Sigil of Sleep in mine. Mistform Warchief is also a decent, more budget version of the incubator.
a good consideration could be dense canopy if someone is focused too much on flying above you with smaller things dense canopy turns it into a two way street allowing for you to attack unaffected by flyers and even nicer means kaseto may not even need to be used for his unblockable, it's also always nice to change up the rules on your opponents and force them to play on your terms
Great deck tech! I've mostly built this deck, but I think I'll make some of the changes you suggested. I would love to see a Kaalia deck tech and a Rhys the Exiled deck tech as the former I have built and the later I'm trying to build, and would enjoy getting your take on these. Thanks Prof and keep up the excellent work.
It would be interesting to see a Bant color-combining commander, such as Jenara, Asura of War or perhaps a group hug type of deck such as Phelddagrif...This was a great Commander guide video, as always, Professor!
Professor! Could you do a series on strategies/how-to-plays for specific cards such as shocklands, fetchlands, Blood Moon. In that series perhaps you could guide on why they are good, when is the best time to play them and how to play them. I think this will be of great help to players new to magic!
I'm sure this comes as no surprise given my icon, and you may hear it a lot, but I would love to see some viable options for Izzet-flavor or U/R Tempo EDH. Every time I see a page talk about improving a U/R Commander deck, it always involves sticking Black in the mix and going the Grixis route. Big spells and displaying mastery of all the magic on the board!
I'd love to see you do a Green/Black or Sultai Fungus/Thallid deck. I'm currently toying with one with Tasigur as the commander mainly for his colors alone, adding blue to a more traditional Golgari fungi deck.
I think Green-white is under-appreciated. I've run a badass Trostani deck that went nuts when comboed with Archangel of Thune and other such lifegain abusers. I would make hundreds of Grove of the Guardian tokens, and with Asceticism, that army became ultra resilient. Even when important pieces die, they can be resurrected easily with white recurring spells. And of course, removal is no problem with Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares. With enough card draw and mana engines, this deck can be both really good and really fun.
Hey professor, I have my own Kaseto deck in the works now, but also just finished another one. I recommend a classic legendary creature, pre-modern. That may have had cards printed years later, even decades later that work wonders with them now. I just had a blast building Zirilan of the claw as my commander. Yeah mono red may not allow me some of the overpowered commander dragons (Kukosho, Skithrix) But I do have 20 years of red dragons printed since his appearance in Mirage. As well as ways to copy effects, and ETB effects that are so exploitable. All the while avoiding the exile at the end of turn with something as simple as the pawnshop to just tutor it back out again.
I personally built out Daxos the Returned, however I would love to see a deck tech for something Red/White!! I feel like far too many people automatically assume they're the worst in EDH and would love to see a cool deck tech for this unappreciated color combo.
Please make an Omnath locus of rage deck! It can be done better than what most decktechs provide. A true glass cannon. The best glass cannon! Sacrificing all your little elementals to deal WAY too much noncombat damage! It would be truly great of you.
How about your take on a Xenagos, God of the Revels Commander deck? I am in the middle of building this with dragons in mind. Would LOVE to hear your take on him as a commander. Keep up the great work! Love this channel!
Great video! Kaseto is my only commmander at the moment! Hope you read this Professor! And give some thought about these cards! xD I have got a very similar deck but i use cards like: Nissa's Renewal ( I dk if this is good enough) Zendikar Resurgent (i think this one is really good) Sensei's diving top Trinket Mage Natural Order Craterhoof Behemoth Ohran Viper Whispersilk Cloak Loxodon Warhammer Fireshrieker
Hey Prof, I would love to see a silly commander for a chaos deck or a fun tribal such as a squirrel deck or one that has at least one chair on its picture :) There are so many EDH channels and podcasts out there but none of them shows a crazy deck.
Hey professor, whats up? Great video. I really thought Kaseto was quite boring as a Commander, but i really liked the list presented. Do a Kumano, Master Yamabushi deck! My pet deck and favorite legend from my favorite block (:
Hey Professor. You've done a Teysa EDH guide and mentioned in a commander podcast that she's one of your favorite commanders. I think it's time her grandfather got some attention, Karlov of the ghost council himself.
Phelddagrif, gwafa, Niv mizzet the firemind, Derevi, Zedruu, narest enlightened master, heartless hidetsugu, daretti, nahiri the lithomancer, Mina and denn
Starcity has this deck on sale for $20 right now, and I'm so tempted to buy it and do the snake tribal thing. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I wasn't going to GPDC this weekend...
No ill will, Professor, but is this eating your words about commander precons on the Commanderin podcast? My first edh deck was Seshiro, and I can remember pouring over the binder pages at my lgs (especially of the Kamigawa sets) for every snake-related thing I could find. You have done a proper rendition of "Snakes on a Plane" here and I look forward to more of your deck "lectures" to come! :)
I would love to see a list for a five-color Ally deck running General Tazri as the Commander. With all the new Ally cards, plus all the old Zendikar Ally cards, I'm sure something generally broken could be created, and Tazri allows for all 5 colors to be run.
Professor, I woud really like to see an Elesh Norn deck. I love her so much and I'm sure you'll have great ideas regarding how to build an EDH around her!
when this deck droped the first card that came to mind was Blight mamba infect is bonkers good here and some of the old kamagawa snakes add poison counters in interesting ways i would not run kiora master of depths instead id run the first kiora for the possibility of some threat you cant deal with. The main issue with snakes is they are quite small so a titanlike creature is hard for them to deal with without throwing 40 snakes in its wake so bubbleing it just seems better not to mention kiora give you a free explore if you wish ramping you mana and giving cards
If you think Ezuri, Claw of Progress is a more weaker commander than Kaseto, you haven't had seen how scary a Cold Eyed selkie with 14 Plus one Plus one counters on it against opponents who are running blue. :-D It was amazing
I'd like to see Sisters of Stone Death. It was my first ever EDH commander and the deck I built around it was mostly based on whatever black and green cards I had rather than any kind of synergy.
You should do a Shu-Yun the Silent Tempest deck. Im building one and would be intrigued to see how you would build it. It has a lot of ways it could be built and can be quiet explosive extremely quickly.
Great video professor! Id love to see an Omnath Locus of Rage decktech since I feel he could be pretty interesting. Alternatively Ive wanted some sort of mono-red budget artifact idea for a while so if thats possible id love to see your take
Great video professor! My only concern about your card choice is plasm capture... Its so difficult to cast it because of mana requirement and even late game, its gonna mess up your plan with your flash spells. Otherwise its pretty good and budget
I love intros in your EDH guides. Would be awesome to hear Rakdos collors intro one day ;)
I'd love to see more Commander guides. Perhaps focused around the 2015 Commander decks as this one was based. Thanks, Professor.

Anyone else figure out what they were replaced with???
Prof, I'm also curious about this. Are the extra cards mentioned in the video just suggestions?
that would be your sideboard i assume.... options to add if build he gave you doesn't quite work for you
Ok, Ishkanah just got spoiled, and since you make the best EDH videos on RUclips, I would beg that you do a Spider Commander deck.

Alright ... I'm going to the binder to find the commanders I always wanted to build but never have and see what you think.
- Hokori, Dust Drinker
- Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
- Arjun, the Shifting Flame
- Bladewing the Risen
- Grenzo, Dungeon Keeper
- Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer
- Ob Nixilis, Unshackled
- Asmira, Holy Avenger
- Tibor and Lumia (this was actually the first deck I ever tried to build, but it was not great)
To be honest professor, I'd love to see a Kalia of the vast deck tech^
YAAAAAASSSSS
+bdablader95 Nah Kalia by experience is one of the most played generals and also most hated if the deck is built out, fun for you until your play group just groans and refuses to play with you.

Top notch vid! Inspired me to modify my Swell the Host pre-bought Commander deck with majority of cards that you've listed.
Ayli! She's a surprisingly great play. My primary colors I enjoy are Temur, so I built her more as an experiment, but she has been working fantastically!
+Inaquian Allforce Ayli is a sweet gift to orzhov commander players. She is an absolute BOSS in my Athreos, God of Cleric Tribal deck.
I'd love to see a build around Athreos, God of Passage, or even of Zur, The Enchanter. Great video as always!
im surprised you didnt mention mystic snake, its a good control card and it fits with tribal
+Mashed Potato Love Kamigawa.

Daxos the returned, the black/white pre-constructed commander would be a terrific one to see you formulate a fun and synergistic deck!
I would love to see a Ghave, Guru of Spores edh ...
I'd like to see B/W with Karlov as a commander!
It would be interesting to see a Bant color-combining commander, such as Jenara, Asura of War or perhaps a group hug type of deck such as Phelddagrif...This was a great Commander guide video, as always, Professor!
awesome!
you should do deck techs more prof. your detailed analysis is what makes you stand out. cheers from the Philippines!
Professor!
Could you do a series on strategies/how-to-plays for specific cards such as shocklands, fetchlands, Blood Moon.
In that series perhaps you could guide on why they are good, when is the best time to play them and how to play them.

Another fantastic video, Professor. I might suggest coiling oracle for card draw (or) ramp.
I feel this deck MUST always include dismiss into dream. Such an awesome interaction with Kaseto!
I would love to see more commander videos that are based on the preconstructed products!
You might want to add Ohran Viper. Looks like a fun deck, keep them coming Professor.
Just my suggestion, but I'd love to see a Mizzix deck. Others may hate it, but Izzet all spells just makes me happy.
Great recommendation on Nature's Will professor. Looking forward to more EDH guides. :)
Man, this intro narration gives me the craziest ASMR.
NEver even thought about Kaseto as Voltron. Awesome.
Thx professor. Your videos are always informative, funny, and just overall awesome. We appreciate the hard work!
I liked kamigawa. Love it when new cards representing this plane are made.
I would love to see a high cmc commander, most people shy away from them, but i would love to see what you come up with.
I personally built out Daxos the Returned, however I would love to see a deck tech for something Red/White!! I feel like far too many people automatically assume they're the worst in EDH and would love to see a cool deck tech for this unappreciated color combo.
I can't help but feel Prophet of Kruphix is a must for this deck (frankly, any EDH deck that has blue green. Nice video
+Greg Eamer it has been banned
Oh. Thanks I did not know that.
+Greg Eamer Yeah, Prophet used to be a BOMB in this deck...and every other deck it was in...and now its gooone. hehehe
kaseto is my favorite! she pairs soOo well with Cipher cards too!
Please make an Omnath locus of rage deck! It can be done better than what most decktechs provide. A true glass cannon. The best glass cannon! Sacrificing all your little elementals to deal WAY too much noncombat damage! It would be truly great of you.
I'd love to see a similar video for the Seize Control deck! Mizzix of the Izmagnus is one of my favorite cards currently.
Do Alesha, Who Smiles At Death!!!
I would love to see a Phelddagrif group hug list done up! It's always a good time for everyone when you win doing something stupidly silly.
And give some thought about these cards! xD
I have got a very similar deck but i use cards like:
Nissa's Renewal ( I dk if this is good enough)
Zendikar Resurgent (i think this one is really good)
Sensei's diving top
Trinket Mage
Natural Order
Craterhoof Behemoth
Ohran Viper
Whispersilk Cloak
Loxodon Warhammer
Fireshrieker
Hey Prof, I would love to see a silly commander for a chaos deck or a fun tribal such as a squirrel deck or one that has at least one chair on its picture :) There are so many EDH channels and podcasts out there but none of them shows a crazy deck.
A guy at my lgs built this exact deck. I want you to know that everybody in the store audibly groans when he pulls it out. You did this.
+terrabite87 My Work here is done.
Tolarian Community College I love your videos Prof. Keep up the good work!
Hey professor, whats up? Great video. I really thought Kaseto was quite boring as a Commander, but i really liked the list presented.
Do a Kumano, Master Yamabushi deck! My pet deck and favorite legend from my favorite block (:
I'm a sucker for anything Jeskai. The flavor is nice because monks are cool, and Jeskai colors provide a pretty sweet type of aggro.
I was thinking about buying the pre built oloro deck and slowly building up from that. I'd love to see a video about that commander.
I would love to see a feature on The Gitrog Monster! He just screams commander fun.
Hey Professor. You've done a Teysa EDH guide and mentioned in a commander podcast that she's one of your favorite commanders. I think it's time her grandfather got some attention, Karlov of the ghost council himself.
Sticking to the Kamigawa theme, do Toshiro! I think his play style is so cool and want to see what you come up with in terms of deck building!
I would love to see videos on Iroas and Blue Braids. Two of the most underrated commanders.
Blue Braids is love, blue Braids is life
+Namenloses Grauen More like "Eldrazi is love, Eldrazi is life"
Animar, Soul of Elements. Protection from white and black can go a long way, especially when trying to zerg your opponents down with creatures.
professor i absolutely love your deck techs.i would love to see more :)
loved your snaky snake tongue at the beginning
Please do one for a Wade Into Battle upgrade! Either Giants or angel tribal??? Love your videos. I made this deck and it is soooo badass
A casual and fun pauper commander deck will be cool too
i would like to see you take on Boros-colors next, just to see how you would deal with the shortcomings of the "worst" colors of EDH
Star City has the Commanders on sale till the 14th. You can get Swell the Host for 19.99.
Elbrus, the binding blade is great in an unblockable strategy. It basically a free 13/13 flyer.
This is in my top tree favorite commanders(Kaalia, Marchesa the Black Rose, and Kaseto)
I would love to see your take on Marchesa as a commander!
I run a black green blue zombie deck in casual and I'd like to what commander would work good for zombie tribal
I made a snake tribal deck with Kaseto. Love to revisit Kamigawa plane again
I want to see Flip Avacyn as a commander honestly that is gonna be so cool
I would love to see a list for a five-color Ally deck running General Tazri as the Commander. With all the new Ally cards, plus all the old Zendikar Ally cards, I'm sure something generally broken could be created, and Tazri allows for all 5 colors to be run.
Ephara God of the polis sounds like an interesting commander. I would love to see a guide on this.
Ezuri is amazing..... Blue has tons of can't be blocked effects.
Professor, I woud really like to see an Elesh Norn deck. I love her so much and I'm sure you'll have great ideas regarding how to build an EDH around her!
Yes please amazing
when this deck droped the first card that came to mind was Blight mamba
infect is bonkers good here and some of the old kamagawa snakes add poison counters in interesting ways
i would not run kiora master of depths
instead id run the first kiora for the possibility of some threat you cant deal with. The main issue with snakes is they are quite small
so a titanlike creature is hard for them to deal with without throwing 40 snakes in its wake so bubbleing it just seems better
not to mention kiora give you a free explore if you wish ramping you mana and giving cards
I would love to see a video on Daxos, the Returned. Enchantment decks are very fun.
When shadows is released, can you do an updated version of the vampire tribal deck?
Great video. What I would like to see is a good Reaper King deck.
I'd love to see a Darien, King of Kjeldor EDH. Love the channel just subscribed
Great video professor! Id love to see an Omnath Locus of Rage decktech since I feel he could be pretty interesting. Alternatively Ive wanted some sort of mono-red budget artifact idea for a while so if thats possible id love to see your take
I'm thinking why not run some creatures that are already unblockable?
Great video professor! My only concern about your card choice is plasm capture... Its so difficult to cast it because of mana requirement and even late game, its gonna mess up your plan with your flash spells. Otherwise its pretty good and budget
