@Littlelinden86 - write down what you want to ask/say and have it in front of you. Have a pen ready to write down what the other person says. I was taught this to help with my own inability to make phone calls as a kid
I’ve gotten so used to my coffee going cold, I just drink it that way. Can’t be bothered to reheat. The first 2-3 sips I get while it’s nice, comfy and hot, the rest is just stale, cold but necessary caffeine water. 😬🤷🏼♀️👍🏻
I've got an old Thermos mug, not that old maybe 5 years. So I make my coffee and let it sit a bit to cool and then out the lid on and it stays pretty warm the rest of the day.
Same, but with tea. I like it cold anyway. One cup lasts me hours. I think it makes life easier. When I see my mum she can't really comprehend it and keeps trying to throw my tea away so she can wash the cup up. I think "why are you making more work than it needs to be?" I'll just want to make another cup, which will also go cold!
I especially relate to the sidequests, lol. I will be for example, doing laundry, while I suddenly decide that I need to clean my cupboards. That then leads me to think that "hey, I haven't actually finished the game on Playstation yet". While playing, I suddenly pause the game and start a monologue about some topic that came to mind while playing the game (I will talk out loud, even those monologues) ,which then leads me to searching online of the said topic. This then leads me back to the "hey, did I finish doing the laundry?". Because of this I have learned to say out loud "okay, I will first do this task and after that I will do the second task" I have to say them out loud, multiple times otherwise it won't work. Because of this method I nowadays go on sidequests lot less than before, but I still do sometimes, sadly it's not 100 percent solid method 😅
I try to trick myself into useful sidequests. While at the loo I will frequently clean a bit here and there and then it saves me doing a big clean. Or while in the shower I clean a bit while my conditioner is working.
i was literally having a crisis and crying yesterday bc my dad was all like “i give up” on trying to make us “do things right” when in reality he just doesn’t understand how it is to deal with adhd…
I spent two weeks using my spare keys because I couldn't figure out what I did with my actual keys other than the vague sense of "Here is a safe place to put them - right here. I will remember this later." Found them in my miscellaneous small item doom box while completely overhauling my room.
Have a place for each important item, close to where its most commonly needed. So glasses are always left on the table by your sofa spot, keys are in a bowl near the mainly used exit. Have a pretty box for feminine hygiene in the bathroom - nicely hidden but handy when needed. Then routines and habits help. Always put your keys where they live before taking your coat off. Sunglasses live well next to the keys.
I am currently juggling at least 5 pairs of glasses. They all have different prescriptions as I don't seem to be able to throw away the outdated ones. 50% of them the frames are broken. They are lying all over the house and I pick them up randomly and hope I'll be able to see something through them. As I have one long sighted and one short sighted eye the prescriptions are interesting and some help me see close up others long distance. I have tried tethers and that can help, but often find that I have two pairs hanging around my neck and they get all tangled up. Last night I was trying to watch the footy (long distance for telly) and of course because I can't concentrate on it, was also trying to play a game on my phone (short distance) - Total effing nightmare. 🤣
This is sooooo relatable! When you asked him why he was on time again hahaha that really got me!! I used to watch my ex husband move through life with such ease and I was always struck by his ability to just be a person with such little effort hahaha. 😂😂😂 especially time management!
Lost a set of keys for an entire year. House, car and work all bundled together for convenience. Never remembered to let my work know. Mainly because I was never the first one there so I never had to unlock and my co workers learned long ago to make sure I left when they did or I'd still be there the next day. Kept forgetting to call a locksmith to change the locks at home so I didn't lock the house when I went out. And used all of the different hide a keys I had for my car because I lose those keys most often. For an entire year... One day I put my hand in my jacket pocket, a jacket that while I don't wear ever day I do wear often, and there they were. I obviously also didn't wash that jacket for a year.
This was so funny! It highlighted the way I, and I'm sure many other ADHD individuals, view neurotypicals. They're a bit odd, but mostly harmless after all.(Edited to fix awful typos.)
I think this video dissolves all of my last doubts whether I could be neurotypical 🙈 Who the hell can pour into a bottle that near to the cliff WITHOUT SPILLING? 😂 Also loved the "Why are you on time? You are alway doing that!"
I've learned to enjoy my lukewarm coffee XD Also floordrobes are great for remember what you've worn already; if it's hung up or put away how do you remember to sniff check it first? I also have a key bowl, and most of the time I use it. I've had to train it into my muscle memory so I don't need brain power to do the thing. But every now and then I forget to take them out of my door 😅 Thankfully I both live in a safe(ish) neighborhood and have trained another muscle memory reflex to always lock my storm door, so it's not like they're just in the open, but someone actually trying to break it could probably bust that lock pretty quickly 😅
Ha - yes, I often leave my key in the door by accident! Especially when I have to get toddler, baby, and then shopping indoors. Luckily we also live in a relatively safe neighbourhood!
Wait, my inability to pour liquids without spilling them is a neurodiverse thing!? I thought other people just had some secret technique I couldn't work out 😆
I have ADHD but my personal hygiene is good, I do all the laundry, and I make phone calls. My keys always go back in the same place. It's NOT effortless, but it happens. FWIW proper telephone training made the world of difference.
This is one of those videos that makes me go "Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh" - cause I would have most/all of those questions. And the "most" is because I've never encountered anyone taking laundry out the first time, so I don't know how I'd respond.
Everything you enact in your videos screams of ME yet despots having family members on both my maternal and paternal side of the family as well immediate, I never thought myself as having ADD. Well, until now that life hit me with a break and all my ADD traits I have kept down, bandaged, hid or tried to find logical excuses for fell out on the floor in a mess about a thousand times more intense than ever before that I am completely overwhelmed by it all.
It’s great! Make coffee at night, leave by the bed, wake up to cold coffee. Transfer it to a glass with some ice, great for a hot summer breakfast drink, courtesy of ADHD. You’re welcome!
This is all accurate except I have master the on time now cause I have a extreme fear of losing my job or having to pay for being late to a doctor appointment. Apparently now my doctors office will add a late fee for not being there on time for an appointment.
at what cost ?? I do side quests until it's time to leave and I arrive early planning some more distraction while it's time. On some occasions the second distraction is not necessary :p
Oh no, the spilling thing is ND, too? I work for an hour in a nursery eith toddlers every Sunday at church, and I let the kids help pour the water, because I feel like they don't spill much more than I do. 😂
Pure gold! I am 61 and I was only recently diagnosed as ADHD. It’s been wild discovering all these things I do are actually ADHD. Thanks for the Brilliant videos! ❤
My husband has ADHD and I have ADHD and Discalulia, he very frequently forgets his drinks and will often reheat them too hot, waits for them to cool and forgets them again. I always guzzle mine straight away, I need it to be the perfect temperature (and milk never tastes right once reheated). 😂
🤣😂OMG! THIS has got to be the best vid yet!!! 🎯The ‘laundry do-over’ 😂 and the, ‘not finishing a drink’ thingy! I didn’t know that my sister did the same as me, leaving coffee & tea cups to get cold all around the house until she & her husband came for a visit. Both our husbands pointed this out about how annoying it is to them.😂 Everyday, I hear my husband shout out, “ Oh! Surprise! Surprise! 😡Look! Your coffee cup in the microwave from this morning!!!” (I totally forget about it every single day😬 I even annoy myself😆)
The best washing machine I ever had allowed you to pause the rinse cycle at the start of the programme...then when my adhd brain remembered i was washing my clothes....i poured the fabric conditioner in and unpaused the cycle 😁👍 the clothes never crease and it only takes five hours to do one wash!!!
You two have helped me so very much! I have sent some of your short videos to family members and friends, saying see this is why I do these things. my mother still just thinks I am weird but the rest of my family and friends are pretty receptive and some of them say “oh that explains a lot”. 😂
Wow Im 42 years old and have always wondered where tidy people put their different piles of worn clothes. Ive always kind of looked around for a special shelf or rack they must have at their place. Even my dog understands I'm easy to distract, when I head to the washing machine to get it out of the machine she gets her ball😂.
Oh, the side quests... Even when I'm not looking to dig into the rabbit hole that is any random topic I don't fully understand at a glance. New window with just YT open? Auto 60 tabs open, that "I'll watch later" or go into the bookmarks memory hole. I also always finish my hot drinks. Most of the time by stone cold o' clock after I either forgot them or didn't think of them. Spilling has been ages, though.
Floordrobe 😂. I'm never sure if I should laugh or cry when I watch these. I relate to way too many of her 'quirks'. "Why don't you let it go cold like a normal person?!" 🥴 People always ask me why it takes 3 hours to drink one mug of coffee. 🤷🏻♀️ Just does.
While watching this video I went on a side quest to Google what a side quest is in ADHD instead of finishing the video itself first 😭 the worst part is I already knew what a side quest was, I just had to make sure I was remembering right for some reason
Dopamin items!!😮❤ Now I finally have a name for that.😂 Side quests are actually fun. I often start to search for something, and come across something that I wanted to order or tidy up a while ago. So that becoming my side quest until I find what I was looking for. And sometimes there are then 3 side quests in a row.😂 But not simultaneously! I hope it's not too frustrating with us "functioning" people. Damn, it's not like you are not functioning. Opposite actually, you do so much more than we do, just the timelines don't match. If we had to go through all those things with 5 different people talking to us all the time... we would soooooo loose every test. Watching this just made me feel kinda sorry for what you might feel when you see others doing stuff "easily".
My worst sidequest was running a bath and then for some reason feeling like it was a good idea to also make myself some eggs. The idea was that when I was done making them, I would turn off the bath and eat them really quick before getting in.... but instead I completely forgot the water was running and ate said eggs while watching a show. I was almost done with the episode before I remembered the water was still running. >w>
I got all of them The not Spiling and reheat drink got me so hard. For me is either , pouring so slowly looking so intense at the Jet the liquid and the thermos or glass or pour the water quickly without control and splashing everything. With hot drinks it drink it quickly in seconds or slip one time or two , hiperfocus and forget totally geting it cold and having to get up 3 or 4 times to heat it XD
Suspected Neurospicy here!Lol I always speedrun drink my hot drinks... I have a thing where I like my hot drinks ridiculous hot and my cold drinks ridiculous cold and there is no in-between 🤣 I drank my coffee once and asked my daughter to put the cup in the sink for me and she yelped when I handed her the cup because it was still that hot 🔥😬😅 and I don't usually spill when pouring due to years as a waitress, and I leave my keys in the same spot cuz I know I'll lose them otherwise.... I had to train pretty hard to appear typical 😭🤣🤷🏼♀️
This video reminded me to put the wet sheets in the dryer. Only problem is I forgot to turn the dryer on the last time I remembered to put the wet clothes in the dryer and now all the clothes are wet and in the dryer, so, thanks.
A couple of days ago I put the washing machine on a timer (for some reason I find it easier to put it on late at night, but that's not an acceptable time to wash clothes). When I remembered that the machine should have run and went to check it, the clothes were dry and the machine was off - I'd managed to put it on the right setting and set the timer, but I hadn't actually pressed start...
And one of the point that is missing is: they do all of that EFFORTLESSLY. Because those of us who are able to do some of those items spend SO MUCH ENERGY AND DO IT SO MUCH SLOWER just to meet the same requirements.
I wish I could like this comment 10x
Is this actually true though or are we just nuts for caring too much that it takes effort? These are the questions that keep me up at night.
Seriously, it's basically a formula of "take a normal human amount of time, double it, and add half."
That’s why it’s hard being paid by the hour.

@@jennygoodhand7843 Exactly! 🤷🏼♀️🙂👍🏻
@@AKcess_Dnied Great example of accepting your ways and finding new ways around it. I like it. 🙂👍🏻
I like to say my internal monologue isn't always so internal. Somehow, by speaking things out loud, they can become more solidified in my brain.
Same.
I try to trick myself into useful sidequests. While at the loo I will frequently clean a bit here and there and then it saves me doing a big clean. Or while in the shower I clean a bit while my conditioner is working.
Same here too 😊
I swear you guys are the cutest couple on RUclips.
Yes!!, 😊😊❤ its that " seek to understand " to each other. I / we see the care.
These are so relatable. Especially floordrobe xD
"It was the only thing on the list." 😂😂😂
Never happened. Not ever 😂
i was literally having a crisis and crying yesterday bc my dad was all like “i give up” on trying to make us “do things right” when in reality he just doesn’t understand how it is to deal with adhd…
I’ve learned to just give myself grace for all the times I’ve spilled drinks or shoke something while forgetting I opened it already 😂
Shook
Or shaken the can of nitro coffee 🤦♀️
I love the reverse perspective! Brilliant!
I’m currently searching everywhere for my far seeing eyeglasses. Of course I set them down 2 weeks ago that made sense at the time. Panic mode.
I spent two weeks using my spare keys because I couldn't figure out what I did with my actual keys other than the vague sense of "Here is a safe place to put them - right here. I will remember this later." Found them in my miscellaneous small item doom box while completely overhauling my room.
I love the idea of far seeing eyeglasses. They sound like a magical item from a fairy story, to go with Seven League Boots.
@@ronbee8525Found mine in the fridge once.
This is sooooo relatable! When you asked him why he was on time again hahaha that really got me!! I used to watch my ex husband move through life with such ease and I was always struck by his ability to just be a person with such little effort hahaha. 😂😂😂 especially time management!
That key bowl is really cool 🤌
Love his constant confusion.😄
Mostly harmless ❤
I think this video dissolves all of my last doubts whether I could be neurotypical 🙈 Who the hell can pour into a bottle that near to the cliff WITHOUT SPILLING? 😂
Also loved the "Why are you on time? You are alway doing that!"
Nah I'd rather reheat it 4x and put it in my side quest list 😂
@@LifetimeinWelding for water, yeah, but noodles for example?😅
Lmao wow thank you for being you and helping me to accept me more through you :)xox ❤😂
I thought other people just had some secret technique I couldn't work out 😆
I just gave up!
Love the skull key pot💕💀💕
I have ADHD but my personal hygiene is good, I do all the laundry, and I make phone calls. My keys always go back in the same place. It's NOT effortless, but it happens.
FWIW proper telephone training made the world of difference.
Agree, a lot of telephone practice does take the edge off!
I'm proud of you
This is one of those videos that makes me go "Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh" - cause I would have most/all of those questions.
And the "most" is because I've never encountered anyone taking laundry out the first time, so I don't know how I'd respond.
I'm a weird one I'm not late I'm usually really early cuz if I'm not I'm a big ball of nerves. I love your videos
Haha I always spilled. It took me 30 years to stop spilling while eating 😂😂😂
I’m not diagnosed ADHD (yet?), but man, always letting my hot drinks go cold is a thing I didn’t realize other people struggled with too.
It’s great! Make coffee at night, leave by the bed, wake up to cold coffee. Transfer it to a glass with some ice, great for a hot summer breakfast drink, courtesy of ADHD. You’re welcome!
I didn't even know it was a thing!
ADHDer not diagnosed yet here too, you're not alone.✨️
I dint know others did it too! Undiagnosed but this channel's content is such a hard relate!!
Got called out on that one too lol, not diagnosed with anything either
It’s usually due to hyper focus.
I love the floordrobe so much!
Can you please get out of my head, Rox? It’s eerie how you know what I’m feeling and thinking all the time!! 😉♥️
FINISHES HOT DRINKS I'm dying LOL! 😂FACT
I'm about to reheat my tea for the third time...... Yea, that's weird.
Pure gold! I am 61 and I was only recently diagnosed as ADHD. It’s been wild discovering all these things I do are actually ADHD. Thanks for the Brilliant videos! ❤
You are SO funny! I love you two! You are a big part of my dopamine intake!
I’m in love with both of these wonderful people 😂❤
I find myself with everything I do the voice in my head has this accent 😂 Thank You ❤
My husband has ADHD and I have ADHD and Discalulia, he very frequently forgets his drinks and will often reheat them too hot, waits for them to cool and forgets them again. I always guzzle mine straight away, I need it to be the perfect temperature (and milk never tastes right once reheated). 😂
Yeah I microwave the same mug of coffee till it's probably radioactive. Shit I might have ADHD.
Shared to four people. .. and countibg!
There wasn’t one of these that I didn’t relate to 😂🤩🥰 thanks for making me laugh and feel seen!!
“Why aren’t you spilling that?”🤣 and its close cousin: “why aren’t you dropping & breaking the glass?”😖😅
💯 facts , on point as usual guys hahaha
You two have helped me so very much! I have sent some of your short videos to family members and friends, saying see this is why I do these things. my mother still just thinks I am weird but the rest of my family and friends are pretty receptive and some of them say “oh that explains a lot”. 😂
Wow Im 42 years old and have always wondered where tidy people put their different piles of worn clothes. Ive always kind of looked around for a special shelf or rack they must have at their place. Even my dog understands I'm easy to distract, when I head to the washing machine to get it out of the machine she gets her ball😂.
Adorable, dog with a job :)
You guys make being AuDHD … fun!!! I smile and laugh everytime 😂🎉❤
I love these type videos yall do. They make me smile and go "yup" at both sides of each item. Much love ❤️
I need this person😂🤣 But, I don't think they'd tolerate me😅😅
This is so wholesommmmmme!
Every question you asked him, I get it all. I do it all. How can people do these things differently to me?????
I just love you both, you are absolutely wonderful
🌹🌹
The spilling. Oh my gosh the never ending spilling!!!!!!
The whole video was great and the ending was chosen perfectly. ❤ Thanks for producing it!
I had to look up body doubling. I didn't know there was a term for that!
That last one topped it off in hysterics! 😂
"dopamine items" was the thing that sent me lol, imma steal that
My floordrobe is my laundry that’s wearable hamper is definitely not straight to the wash while playing music
Never occurred to me that my crippling fear of making phone calls could be ADHD as well.
I leave always a bit Coffee in my mug, I never ever finish hot drinks...now I understand my father always complained about it😅
Lmao... the effortless way the work gets done 😢😅
I do most of these things though, just with great effort and so much pent up anxiety that it nearly killed me.
Hilarious, thank you.
Love this angle you're taking! :-)
I don't even drink hot drinks except hot chocolate in the winter anymore. Saves the trouble lol
The worst is when I forget where I’ve put my glasses, and can’t see to find them 😂
THE KEYS I RELATE SOOO HARD OMG
Love this opposite POv video! 😂🩵
Just diagnosed with ADHD at 31😅🎉 and now all this suddenly makes sense to me!! I feel so called out with the drink going cool lol 😂
I'm back and forth on this one. Side quests yes. Talking on the phone ewwwe. But keys have a place. They must be in their place.
“Why aren’t you working all weekend to keep up with the expectations of your neurotypical coworkers?!”
That was actually so relatable😂😂😂.
Or I'm doing most of these things as an autistic with adhd...lol XD it's all different for everyone, though! Love your videos!
AHAHHAHA the finishing warm drinks took mf out
Thank you for my reminder to take the washing out.
Leaving the hot drink (or parts) till it is cold is perfect accurate
Number 7 blew my mind.
Exactly how I see NTs through my ADHD eyes 😂
While watching this video I went on a side quest to Google what a side quest is in ADHD instead of finishing the video itself first 😭 the worst part is I already knew what a side quest was, I just had to make sure I was remembering right for some reason
And here I thought I was the only who didn’t finish hot drinks 😂
I cried after watching this. I don't wanna be like this anymore, I refuse it. I know there's no cure but I'm gonna find a way.
My worst sidequest was running a bath and then for some reason feeling like it was a good idea to also make myself some eggs. The idea was that when I was done making them, I would turn off the bath and eat them really quick before getting in.... but instead I completely forgot the water was running and ate said eggs while watching a show. I was almost done with the episode before I remembered the water was still running. >w>
I didn’t watch all of yalls shorts and now about to watch all of yalls videos, while it’s 2AM I should be sleeping right now 😅
Does anyone else think that he kind of looks like Gale on BG3? 🤔
BTW, I love the videos that you and your husband do! ❤
🤣🤣🤣You're my favorite!
I think the only thing that I don’t do I don’t spill things. I’m overly careful.
Realisation hits... 😅
