This is one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard, impeccably written and passionately given. I’m hoping for that the WGA and SAG Aftra get what they’re fighting so hard for
Very proud member of the WGA very grateful for the solidarity and persistence of my brothers and sisters on the various picket lines. There is strength in union.
Thank you! The American workforce needs to stand up together. EVERY working class person’s livelihoods have been affected by these monolithic corporations being allowed to become what they are. Our government has done nothing about it. Now they can’t control it. It’s long past time to fight back.
Thank you for these amazing words. This is where kicking the can down the road gets you. Now more than EVER we need American Labor-ALL working people-to stand up and say a resounding, “Enough!”. This has been building and building, especially for the last 20 years. It’s time for everyone to get on board. #solidarity #unionstrong
"We are fighting for our home: writing is where we live, and we will defend that home with a bravery and stamina and ferocity that you will come to understand someday, which is why you cannot break us." incredibly well said
it's a wake up call for young or wannabe writers. Like many others, this career is dying in front of our eyes. Writers are desperate. If that's your passion, then do as a freelance gig.
COMING STORM WGA MUST PREPARE FOR: Sadly and outrageously, the studios and streamers aren't intimidated by the strike. Why? I believe, and I may be wrong, what's PROBABLY not inluded in the WGA SAG proposals is a a clause addressing the huge existential threat of studios/streamers offshore agenda, as shows can be done cheaper, eliminating American jobs - which happened in other industries. I believe when the strike is settled on their own insidious timetable, UNFORTUNATELY the studios and streamers MULTIMILLIONARE CEOs will reduce the number of the much more expensive domestically produced TV & streaming original shows to cut costs and maximize investor profits per the Wall Street Private Equity demands, cunningly aware all along that by producing their shows offshore, they will not be obligated to abide by whatever Union agreement is reached (unless there is a clause inluded to protect the WGA writers, and SAG actors from such offshore labor tsunami catastrophe). offshoring isn't new, only it will now be skyrocketed to never before destructive levels.
"We've seen the writing on the wall, and it's plagiarized." absolutely incredible.
Hear, hear. I'm a member of SAG-AFTRA, and I support and hope to join your union as well. We have to fight. #UnionStrong #WGAStrong #SAGAFTRAStrong

Such a sensible and thoughtful presentation. Thank you so much for this….
This made me weep, and I'm not a member of either union. Incredibly well stated. 👏

I'm not a member, not an American, but a screenwriter and yes, I cried.

If other people sucked at their jobs as bad as you they’d be canned.
