You made your own luck, Aleks, by learning English on your own and making your videos. Then you trusted your sponsors and made the big leap to another continent. I hope you continue to prosper and enjoy America. You have such a super personality, I’m sure you will meet lifelong friends along the way. ❤️🇨🇦🙏

This Washington D.C trip is a very exciting experience for you, Aleks! I am very happy you went to the Lincoln Memorial! President Lincoln was one of the best American Presidents in United States History during the American Civil War during the 1860s. By the way, the first Burger place that you got your drink from is not really called 7 Burger it is called Z Burger. Do not worry. I do not think Z is the same as Z Putin Russian military Burger! Enjoy this wonderful opportunity in Washington D.C.. The United States Capital!

They have tourist buses that give you nice rides around DC which you can jump on & jump off. They sell tickets to those buses at Union Station, which is beautiful. Union Station has a subway station on the red Metro line and they have a large food court with all kinds of foods. The tourist bus tickets cost something like $45, which sounds expensive but it's really a great deal because they do such a good job of giving you an overview of the city, and they can answer all your questions. They take you through historic Georgetown and to the fabulous Washington National Cathedral, and by many historic landmarks.

I hope you enjoy your visit to DC! I got to go there with my grandparents when I was 13. My favorite place from the visit was the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. We were only there for four days so I didn’t see everything there. I have a cousin that lived there for several years so she’s seen a lot more of it because she had more time to explore, but I did see the highlights like the Lincoln Memorial, Capitol, White House, Supreme Court Building, Smithsonian American History Museum (second favorite thing to visit in DC), etc. We basically spent a whole day each at the Smithsonian museums we visited and then took a guided tour on our last day to all the other places in DC. Hope you make lots of great memories there like I did! 😊

I find it strange how free drinks are very rare in other countries. They are incredibly cheap for restaurants to purchase hence why free refills and free water are a thing in the US. Generally you could ask any restaurant for a cup if they have fountains and most of the time they will just give you one (unless they are strict about it). Though sometimes it's restricted to only free water and not soda or tea.

    • @catherinelw9365

It’s actually illegal to refuse water to anyone who asks in a restaurant - even if they’re not a customer.

@@catherinelw9365 there's a coffee place near me I stop by on my walks to ask them to refill my water jug and they always do. Couldn't imagine if I lived somewhere where they refused cause it gets hot on my walk some days

Don't walk around Van Dorn. There is nothing there. Walk around the National Mall & Smithsonian museums (they are all FREE and have AC, restaurants, great gift shops and restrooms. Also walk around Dupont Circle, the gay community, especially 17th Street (from P Street to S Street) and 14th Street (from Rhode Island Avenue to U Street).
