Hi Renee, I bet your Valentine’s was perfect. You work so hard and do so much, I am glad you took a break and bought convenience. They are little for such a short time. You are so awesome and I enjoy my visits here so much. Your family and neighbors are blessed to have you.
I have arthritis in my thumbs too. I agree with you. We need our thumbs and the struggle is real. Especially trying to open things, even ziplocks can be challenging. Thank you for your videos ❤

Good morning neighbor……hope you are well. Had a streak of 60* to 70* weather then came the rain storm yesterday and knocked out our internet almost the whole day…WHATTTT 😼no coffee with you, no listening to cooking videos…..at least I had the Cooking channel on tv. I was canning chicken soup and cooked sausage in quarts and it’s nice to listen while I work.
That meatloaf recipe was sooo good, I couldn’t stop taking a meatball here and there….I made into meatballs then made meatball sub in Italian bread for dinner and sandwiches for hubbies lunch…..definitely will make more for the freezer.
I didn’t have the mix to put in mine but used Italian bread crumbs. The moistest meatloaf ever…..I made jalapeño ketchup for his.
Getting my two grand kiddos for the weekend..my 12 yr old grandson helps hubby with chores and my 10 yr old granddaughter helps me in my art studio and greenhouse….both are great helpers and such a blessing since both of us are just getting over the C……
One is gluten sensitive so I have to bake a gluten free bread for him…it’s $6.50 for a small loaf….Mac and cheese is $3.79 for small box….I’m making protein bars instead of cookies…simple and fast.
My daughter said she spent $750 at ALDIs and another $100 at Meijer’s last week…..her husband and her both work two jobs to keep four kiddos fed….can’t imagine how even larger families do it.
They don’t make a lot of pasta dishes because of my grandsons gluten intolerance and my daughters achy joints…

The easiest thing to do to open bottles that are sealed if you take your kitchen scissors and if they’ve got like a metal clip from the middle of them where the handles are, if you take that and put that there and then twist it and opens up your bottle for you.

I am excited to try these recipes. Everything looks so good! You cook food the way my grandmothers and my mom did. They're all gone now, and often your recipes are the closest I can get to the way the way they did it. I love that you give good hints along the way, and it always feels like something I can do. I just can't tell you enough what that means to me. As a cancer patient, some days nothing sounds or tastes good, but comfort food like yours always works. And on the days I don't feel well enough to cook, your freezer meals mean I can still have really good food that's more manageable for me for that day. I can't wait to see what's next! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Way to go Renae. Beautiful spread for the grandkids. Great meals you put together. My son and I did chicken strips with bottles ranch dressing .tsp., of cayenne, good pinch of red pepper flakes. Then 1 n half cups Pankeo Crumbs. tsp.,of ginger salt and pepper to taste and half cup of shaker Parmesan cheese. dip strips in the dressing dredge in the pankeo put on no stick foil. Bake 350 for22-25 min. You can flash freeze this then just thaw over night in fridge and bake the same. Soo good and just a hint of hot. leftovers little more heat but so yummy.

I've been wondering why you switched out your table? What is the purpose of the tea ball hanging on your faucet? How is the dishwasher connected, I rent. Thanks:)

I got a bigger island. I hung it there because It is easy access and when I clen it after I use it I just hang it. The dishwasher is connected to the water line under the sink and the drain hose lays in the sink when in use. It would be ok for rented place with no damage left behind.

@@LittleVillageHomestead I like the new island a lot, thinking about getting one, I will add a wire shelving unit with legs (on the shelf under it) so that I will be able to hang my cast iron and lids under there and it would add a shelf at the bottom to put my sheet pans on and under.
Cool, I thought it looks really cute and I thought maybe you had put some aromatics in it for "happy smells." lol
Thanks:) I'll look more seriously into getting one. What soap do you use for it?

Do the Amish stores up by you have bulk canning lids? I'm thinking of ordering from Lehmans, but it just popped into my head that a a "local" store in Michigan might have them.

My Amish store is not advertised but Yes she sells the big sleeves of lids and they work beautiful. Are you in Michigan? I may be able to arrange for you to get them.

I was wondering about the Lemon-Pepper chicken when you bake the chicken, do you pour off the lemon juice and olive oil or do you bake it with the liquids?
