great video. a hard pill a lot of people should learn to swallow is that therapy is not for everyone. not every systemic treatment is going to work for everyone. i’ve tried therapy for years, and it never worked out in the end, it just was not for me especially with what i was going through. the same thing for medicine, didn’t do jack for me. it was until i realized the only person that can help me is myself and my support systems who helped me along the way. now i have a healthier mindset especially when the world has finally caught up to my beliefs, so now i’m able to live a fulfilling life. we all live in our own timelines in the first place so see what works best for you
It’s me, the guy from the other video. depression is seriously no joke and people need to take it seriously. I can’t tell you the amount of times that I’ve been told “ oh, you’re faking it. Listening to this as someone with an extremely complex list of diagnosis' is really interesting and I thought I would provide some personal insight. I have been officially diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, personality disorder not otherwise specified (because I filled the criteria for too many for them to be diagnosed separately, but my primary symptoms are those of BPD and NPD), OCD, complex PTSD, generalised anxiety disorder, depression with psychotic features and Tourettes. I'm also acknowledged to most likely be autistic and possibly having bipolar. Hell of a list, right? It's hell to live with too, I'm essentially as non-functioning as I can be without constant observation and help. But the point of my comment isn't to cry about how hard my life is, it's that I wanted to point out that it's not generally thought about how much trauma TRULY affects a person. People are often shocked and in disbelief when they hear how many diagnosis" I have and I have been told I'm faking it way too many times to count, but if you really think about it, it makes sense for someone with a severe trauma history to develop multiple disorders in different "fields", so to say. Like in my case, DID is a very collective response to all of the trauma I went through, while PDNOS is a response towards more the emotional repercussions, OCD is more based on my fear of punishment and it's highly likely that my Tourettes is caused by physical trauma, etc. A lot of people also don't understand just how bad trauma can be. I won't go into any details but I went through a decade of extreme sexual and physical abuse, as well as severe conditioning and brainwashing, verbal abuse and fearmongering. I often say that most "normal" people would not be able to guess the things I have been through even if they tried to imagine the worst thing that could happen to a child and I'm not kidding when I say that. Thank you for spreading awareness on mental health in such a broad manner. I know the explanations are very short here so I won't be an annoying nitpick, but I would've loved to see you mention that people with both ASPD and NPD are often able to learn to control their symptoms and even learn cognitive empathy and sympathy. I have met multiple people with either or disorder who were genuinely amazing people who had found ways around their symptoms. Empathy doesn't equal ability to be kind.

(speaking from experience) but not everyone with bulimia binge eats before they purge for me it was just everyday meals or if i felt full because to me that was one of the worst feelings ever at the time even now when i feel full i still struggle to not just get rid of the feeling because it becomes the only think you can think about and feel and you begin to almost enjoy doing it every chance you get which is horrible sorry i feel very passionate abt this topic bc i feel its not taken that seriously sorry this kinda turned into a little vent but i really just wanted to say that It's important to understand that not everyone dealing with bulimia also engages in binge eating please know that.
don't really have exploding head syndrome but I think I had experienced it once in my life. It felt like someone had set off a stick of dynamite in my back yard. I felt the house shake and a loud explosion that made me jump from bed. But upon asking my family if they had heard or felt the explosion they all told me there wasn't any. Most odd experience of my life ngl-
@miladyghost it feels the way the Truman show looks. Like absolutely nothing is real. Like people are all fake and made up and there's no way out so I have to deal with it. The exploding head thing is a near deafening shot just in my head randomly. It's terrifying.
Thank you for not explaining what an ice berg is xD I seriously cant hear it anymore. "For those of you who dont know what an ice berg is-" This format is literally years old by now xD
I think i may be bi-polar but ive never checked. I recognize that i can go through major acute peaks and valleys. These can happen on the scale of just an hour or and thats what worries me.
my dad was bipolar and it was incredibly scary...he would stay in bed for a couple weeks then be up and working so hard at his best. please, if you think you are bipolar, please make sure to check. it's actually terrifying how bad it can get and I don't wish that on anyone. good luck, mate.
If its changing in an hour it won't meet the bipolar criteria. I'm diagnosed with Bipolar and one of the criteria is being manic/hypomanic for at least 4 days.
Many will not understand this or atleast will not know what advice to give cause my problem is complex today I have a day off of work and nothing special or exiting went for me today and that exhaustes me and makes me sick in my head maybe that’s like mental illness I just don’t really know how to spend my free time and that’s where you struggle to give advice
Nah cus literally every single person on ever US college campus has at least 5 of these conditions so these percentages must be off😂 People are legitimately claiming PTSD because their card got declined or “some creep” asked for their number😂
never say out loud that youre mentally disabled that will raise even more questions some of them you cant answer and from there youre not taken seriously
hard to get a diagnosis cause i deny drug testing as your life will get fucked the more you inform about it in my country. psychiatrist called me a child maybe because of that but psychologists say its obvious ptsd + the basic shit :D
@Octopusgivesyouahundo actually the rizz is in the negatives. it would work on me but literally anything would work on me that doesn't give them a pass
Im sure you get plenty of comments like this, though its not common to hear ARFID in a video such as these. I was diagnosed about 4 years, ago and have even been hospitalized due to how low of a weight I got, and how poorly at damaged my heart. Even a year ago, there wasn't even a serious result on google, so I really do appreciate this spread of awareness. Keep it up!!
How ironic is this for me .. struggling to watch this video here at work (trucker) and the very very first disorder in this video is ADHD (inattentive type) - which is exactly what I have 🤷🏻♂️
I am begging you to please look up how to say words if you're not sure, it took me too long to work out you were trying to say rigidity! I have auditory processing issues and couldn't hear anything but rigger diddy 😅 also it's worth mentioning that many of these aren't real diagnoses or are highly contentious. I like these videos though, this is the stuff I subscribed for not another reddit reader.
What’s the term for people who have the insane belief that they have the ability to diagnose people on the internet, despite having no psychological training whatsoever?
i love your content, but ADHD is not a mental illness. i understand where you might be coming from, but its a neurological disorder, not a mental health disorder, although it is often associated with depression and anxiety due to the stigma surrounding it.
I mean technically a neurological issue would explain most mental illnesses (like schizophrenia being caused by mutations to specific genes or bi-polar being due to a set of 21 gene mutations that cause your body to not produce or produce too little noradrenaline which is crucial to mood regulation). Clinical depression is often caused by certain mutations that causes the body to produce too little serotonin naturally.
11:09 i'm surprised I don't see anyone in the comment section talking about this; but both ABA and the puzzle piece symbol are disliked among the autistic community. ABA can be not only harsh on children, but in my opinion is similar to training a kid like a dog. Its a bit dehumanizing. Just like ABA the puzzle piece implies that autism is a problem that needs fixing, or that autistic people are missing a piece that others have. Its often used by autism speaks, who overall demonizes autism and is hated by the autism community. I don't want to sound like a snowflake or bossy, but i genuinely wanted to just let you know maybe not to use them in the future when talking about autism. unless you're covering the problems we face of course, and i don't speak for everyone else. this is just my understanding as part of the community. 😅
@ then what exactly is the bubble of space on the internet where autistic people gather to talk about their experiences and relate to each other? or are you just being snooty and calling me out on grammar? because if thats it, you seem to be missing the point.

(speaking from experience) but not everyone with bulimia binge eats before they purge for me it was just everyday meals or if i felt full because to me that was one of the worst feelings ever at the time even now when i feel full i still struggle to not just get rid of the feeling because it becomes the only think you can think about and feel and you begin to almost enjoy doing it every chance you get which is horrible sorry i feel very passionate abt this topic bc i feel its not taken that seriously sorry this kinda turned into a little vent but i really just wanted to say that It's important to understand that not everyone dealing with bulimia also engages in binge eating please know that.
it's the most common, and it often starts out that way. it's not like that for everybody (saying this so you can't say anything) but MOST cases. MOST.
don't really have exploding head syndrome but I think I had experienced it once in my life. It felt like someone had set off a stick of dynamite in my back yard. I felt the house shake and a loud explosion that made me jump from bed. But upon asking my family if they had heard or felt the explosion they all told me there wasn't any. Most odd experience of my life ngl-
good video. thanks for sharing it.
as someone with Autism and dysgraphia i can i agree with everything you said about it
I’m a borderline! It sucks and i hate life!
can't wait for this to be updated 40 years later when the cyberpsychosis update releases.
Nah they don’t know nun bout cyberpsychosis🤞
I have schizophrenia, exploding head syndrome, ADHD, and facial blindness.
What does this feel like?
@miladyghost it feels the way the Truman show looks. Like absolutely nothing is real. Like people are all fake and made up and there's no way out so I have to deal with it.
The exploding head thing is a near deafening shot just in my head randomly. It's terrifying.

Thank you for not explaining what an ice berg is xD I seriously cant hear it anymore.
"For those of you who dont know what an ice berg is-"
This format is literally years old by now xD
How early am i 2 min 😲😮 thats weird im always atleast 3 or 2 hours late
I enjoyed all the video that came with my ads
I'm old school so manic-depressive, if you please. And ease up on yourselves, we're all human.
Who are those 3/4 people who just walk through life with no mental illness ever??
Me (might have mild autism)
I think i may be bi-polar but ive never checked. I recognize that i can go through major acute peaks and valleys. These can happen on the scale of just an hour or and thats what worries me.
my dad was bipolar and it was incredibly scary...he would stay in bed for a couple weeks then be up and working so hard at his best. please, if you think you are bipolar, please make sure to check. it's actually terrifying how bad it can get and I don't wish that on anyone. good luck, mate.
If its changing in an hour it won't meet the bipolar criteria. I'm diagnosed with Bipolar and one of the criteria is being manic/hypomanic for at least 4 days.
yo thanks i eat this type of shit up lol. mental illness are extremely interesting to me
Many will not understand this or atleast will not know what advice to give cause my problem is complex today I have a day off of work and nothing special or exiting went for me today and that exhaustes me and makes me sick in my head maybe that’s like mental illness I just don’t really know how to spend my free time and that’s where you struggle to give advice
Under 10 min lets gooo
Nah cus literally every single person on ever US college campus has at least 5 of these conditions so these percentages must be off😂
People are legitimately claiming PTSD because their card got declined or “some creep” asked for their number😂
i can agree with the card part but... that last part.... i was about to explain but on second thought there's no hope for you
@@oops14314yeah seriously.. i’m guessing this is a man because.. this is the type of guy to believe that only war veterans can have PTSD
So, this is literally just a remaster of that other Mental Illness Iceberg?
never say out loud that youre mentally disabled that will raise even more questions some of them you cant answer and from there youre not taken seriously
ayy im finnaly early
Bipolar type 1 & PTSD checking in
Tag yourself
add, depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria (suspect I also have autism, but not diagnosed yet.)
Same other than gender dysphoria
ADHD, autism, anxiety, persistent depressive disorder, gender dysphoria, dissociative disorder NOS, hair pulling disorder, face blindness✌️
hard to get a diagnosis cause i deny drug testing as your life will get fucked the more you inform about it in my country. psychiatrist called me a child maybe because of that but psychologists say its obvious ptsd + the basic shit :D
autism, ADHD, gender dysphoria, pica in my younger days, maybe ??? depression ???
why even live lmao@@Tardu00
The only thing i got is Mental CHILL- ness 😏😏😏
The rizz is immeasurable
@Octopusgivesyouahundo actually the rizz is in the negatives. it would work on me but literally anything would work on me that doesn't give them a pass
Im sure you get plenty of comments like this, though its not common to hear ARFID in a video such as these. I was diagnosed about 4 years, ago and have even been hospitalized due to how low of a weight I got, and how poorly at damaged my heart. Even a year ago, there wasn't even a serious result on google, so I really do appreciate this spread of awareness. Keep it up!!
If anyone else has it and needs someone to talk to please feel free!! I can try and help from someone with experience
Let’s go we got tier one 1️⃣
Hmmm.... Sir, i have an OCD and a PTSD too, sometimes they hurting me😔🥺
32:52 this ain’t narcolepsy
literally is
Dude I feel like I'm playing bingo wtf 😭
How ironic is this for me .. struggling to watch this video here at work (trucker) and the very very first disorder in this video is ADHD (inattentive type) - which is exactly what I have 🤷🏻♂️
10 mins in and how many times is this guy gonna talk about social anxiety
Not at all to be "that guy" but damn ive experienced or have had to deal with most of the first like 10
I wish there were more information about paraphrenia
Do you have a way for us to submit stories to you?
Send me an email! I think my email is in my channel about section, so send it over!
omg yeah i have a needle phobia and the only thing that helps me is taking klonopin so i’m knocked tf out at the doctors 💀
I am not antisocial I am just antistupid!!!!
real.
Just tell me im cooked doc😫
Man having seen the first 3 disorders and that i have them all 3 was kinda wierd lol
I don't just relate to this iceberg, I AM this iceberg
What’s the term for people who have the insane belief that they have the ability to diagnose people on the internet, despite having no psychological training whatsoever?
Idiots, I believe
I need me some CBT.
What.
Oh
🐓&🏀 torture??
i love your content, but ADHD is not a mental illness. i understand where you might be coming from, but its a neurological disorder, not a mental health disorder, although it is often associated with depression and anxiety due to the stigma surrounding it.
i agree with you, but it's understandable why it's here. it's "the mental illness AND DISORDER iceberg". adhd is a disorder.
ADHD and Autism are mental illnesses. That or they are hocuss pocuss. Didn't hear much about these disorders back in the 80s and 90s.
@ oh i cant do this tonight bro 😂 autism has existed since the dawn of time bro. the first person was diagnosed in 1964 bro. bffr 💀
@@phoenixrising4995you’re very dvmb
I mean technically a neurological issue would explain most mental illnesses (like schizophrenia being caused by mutations to specific genes or bi-polar being due to a set of 21 gene mutations that cause your body to not produce or produce too little noradrenaline which is crucial to mood regulation). Clinical depression is often caused by certain mutations that causes the body to produce too little serotonin naturally.
Just found out I don't have Huntingtons disease so life is good!

Earlyy
56:49 So every red pill dude suffers from this
11:09 i'm surprised I don't see anyone in the comment section talking about this; but both ABA and the puzzle piece symbol are disliked among the autistic community. 😅
There isn't "the" autistic community.
@ then what exactly is the bubble of space on the internet where autistic people gather to talk about their experiences and relate to each other? or are you just being snooty and calling me out on grammar? because if thats it, you seem to be missing the point.
No Xwitter link?
