  • In the first of three exclusive video interviews with Dezeen for Virtual Design Festival, fashion designer Iris van Herpen explains how her training as a ballet dancer led her to pioneer the use of new technologies and materials in haute couture.
    The Dutch fashion designer has built her career on taking an experimental approach to fashion, using materials as diverse as silicone, metal lace, iron filings and glass.
    Her elaborate haute couture collections combine traditional craft with digital techniques such as laser cutting, digital fabrication and 3D printing.

    She is a phenomenal designer. There really is no one like her. Her creations are outerworldy. Absolutely outstanding.

    Everytime i see her works i almost cry my eyes out because how beautiful they are, the passion she put into her works, it's not just that "pretty" fashion but it's much deeper, it's the feeling, the creativity, the hardwork, all together combined. Bow to the Queen 🙇‍♂️🙇🏼‍♀️

    Lemme just say something as a straight man, Your design the specific “Netting” design this is intriguing Godbless you there is so much wack fashion out there they just throw watever out there its a waste of money but you have inspired me Ms. Iris incredible work…now im gonna go watch this video.
