  • I go over some strategies to learning matchups. Sorry if some of this seems obvious or self explanatory, I'm just trying to do service to a request on the topic.

That bit about looking at what the OTHER player is doing during the matchup is so obvious in hindsight, but for some reason I never thought to do it! Thanks

Great concept for a vid mate. Writing stuff down is the way. Then dropping into training and repeating those combos

Got done watching (some) videos and I see bigbird and itazan use od/h dima into charged b.Hp and h.gladius, and right after they put the opponent into a set up. Could you maybe make a video about this?

As the lab maestro, a training mode guide/drills would be good for Marisa players

Hopefully your family is doing alright! And for anyone doing a bit bad, sometimes watching matches of Marisa players winning a lot and talking about what they're doing mostly helps you feel like you can understand it. I watched like 2 hours of Marisa gameplay and I started up SF6 and I was doing good. Not saying you *should* but I say it's at least worth trying one time.

There’s a 3 hour long video for platinum to diamond by SavageSF6, MacSama if there’s videos, some BigBird, and Itazan.

Love your guides. Think you'll do one on beating runaway zoning/poke? I'm getting bopped by Chun/Ryu/Rashid/Dhalsims that are hard dedicated to running away and poking me out of my armor.

It’s a possibility. I made a video that was about dealing with Rashid’s fireball, but he’s definitely one of our more annoying matchups.

Excuse me, in SF6 they’re called OD howdies.

@Zach Henke thanks man, as a brand new 2D fighting game player with my first ever being SF6 as Marisa, I must say this is great as I keep getting my ass handed to me in battle hub against great players who hand me my ass on a silver platter and I don’t know how to improve so, this should definitely help out big time.

One of my goals in starting this channel was to create the resources that I wished I had when I started fighting games.
If you haven’t seen them I would suggest my video on neutral (I have one for Marisa and a more general guide) and my Knockdowns and Oki video. I also have an entire playlist titled “How to Play Marisa”.

Just got back from training mode, if you hate Jamie's c.Hk. Then this is definitely for you. I was playing around in training with Jamie and Marisa and found some stuff, if Jamie does c.Hk without the follow-up, you can do b.Hp (if timed very precisely) or s.Mp. If the Jamie decides to do the follow-up, Then they better pray that they have more than 80% health because charging b.Hp will hit on *Punish Counter*. I don't know if drive rush -> charged s.Hp works but if it does it just does a bit more damage. I hope this helped some people.
Forgot to add, I think if the Jamie does the follow-up then you have to drive rush into b.Hp but idk that's for you to find out. Also I found a oki with od.planax (forgor what it's called, just the closest I remember). If you do od.planax into a charged overhead (df. charged Hp), it keeps them in the air for a second and is almost a safe jump (only 1 off from being a safe jump). If you drive rush instantly, if I remember correctly. You can charge b.Hp and it'll hit oki. It's not really that good but if you accidentally used od.planax in a combo, feel free to go into the oki.
