  • The 49 Chevy truck with the 54 235 engine has been sitting a couple weeks or three so it's time to start it up, run it some & make sure it reaches oil pressure & temp, charges correctly and idles down to normal warmed up idle speed.

Nice hearing the old girl purring, way too much rain here in PA also, was planning on taking Gracie to her 1st cruise of the season yesterday, it was cancelled 🙄, I'm getting fidgety waiting! God bless!

Hey Paul, it finally looks liek the sun is breaking through this morning, I feel a cruise coming on, LOL.
As an aside we took a couple day trip up to Hersey and checked out the area up there. Beautiful area up there which is excellent for cruising.

Hey Mike, she's wanting to run but if I start cruising her I'll never get "round-to-it", LOL.
      Have a good 'un.
Also wanted to say I saw your PCV vid, it's definitely a win/win type of mod.

@@Volfandt oh thanks Dave, I really like my electric fuel pump for bypassing the mechanical pump for cold starts

What is the name of the company you got your glass from? I'm building a 47 3100 currently and I'm replacing all the glass in my 5 window. Thanks

I used these folks for all the glass & associated gaskets/seals on both my 49 Chevy & the 49 GMC truck I've since traded.

There are several aftermarket providers for our old Stovebolts and I've used most all of them with good luck. Good luck in your repair(s) & thanks for watching.

Gotta love the sound of a 235 Stovebolt, it has great throttle response with the dual carburetors, did you put a higher performance cam in the 235.? 💯🆒

Hey Steve, yes it has a higher performance cam. It's refered to as a 3/4 race cam or a 264 cam. Some others called it a Bulldog cam. I got it through Patricks who has since gone out of business. Basically it has more duration and lift than the 261/Blue Flame 6 Corvette cam and way more than the stock 235 cam. I idle it around 650 rpm to smooth it out, otherwise it has a pretty good lope to it (that I've been known to lower the idle rpm at car shows for effect, LOL ).

Awesome, when you reved it I was watching the tach and thought there was more performance parts in the 235 . 🫵🏼💯🆒👍
