Pulling for a Shark, that's for sure. They are stubborn as heck. I spent two hours pulling in a 6' 3" Bull Shark and i never seen him until he was 100 years from the pier. I walked that Joker all over that pier. My Dad asked me, you want me to reel some, you don't ask anyone who's already reeled for hour's if you want My help. Hello. Get em in.

I caught a 120-pound (realistic estimate) spinner shark off that pier and caught hell for "shark" fishing. Even with the butt chewing it was one hell of a good experience. I got it to the pier before it straightened the hook and headed south!

Wow! That is nice fight. Always nice when you can at least see what was on the line.

Probably a shark as they swarm that pier but could have been a nice King. Fun fight regardless

@feeshyfeeshy I'm a season pass holder and have pictures of sharks and dog fish I've caught in March. I'm there so often I caught the last fish of 2021 and the first of 2022

@feeshyfeeshy I fish on that pier nearly everytime I go to the beach. I am 45 now, but when I was 14/15, me and my dad were fishing there and I hooked something big. We were at the halfway point, and whatever I had was moving toward the end of the pier. I started noting a couple of guys moving at the same time as me, with a huge bend too. Suddenly it came up and it was some sort of ray, but it was bigger than any ray I have ever seen. Best guess, it had a wingspan of 3-4 feet, and frankly I think that's a low-end estimate. It turned out that me and the other 3 guys were all hooked on it. It never struggled, it never slowed down, it just kept swimming calmly and straight and it snapped our line like sewing thread. So if it was a ray that the guy in the video had, it was an extremely active ray, with the head shakes and all. My best guess would be a shark. I don't know when this was filmed, but the last 2-3 years that we have been going up there (me and my daughters), there has been a shark that cruises the west side of the pier. He just goes along the length, swings out and circles around. I would estimate at least 4 ft long. So, that's my guess...a shark
