Great work. Beautiful result. Question, can you make a guide for the router that follow the acrylic template? This would remove the expert touch of tracing and hand doing it.
While watching the custom cutting for the inlay i started to wonder why you guys don't use something like a portable CNC router like the shaper origin. This is amazing work regardless, I'm just curious if there's limits to the tool or some other reason an option like that wasn't explored.
I feel like you guys should try one of those “cnc” routers. Those handheld ones where you put down some tape with a weird pattern first and it moves the spindle to follow a pattern you programmed into it.
I'd love to be part of this one day or do this myself. Such an awesome thing to make. How does one build his career into this currently only a Level 2 Caprterner/ Woodworking & Joinary
Fantastic work to everyone involved; I love that I was able to see it all come together! This desk is going to be my workhorse for many years to come!

Is it called a spindle? I’m not a woodworker.

Nice work. You guys really need to invest in a Shaper handheld CNC.
I dont get why you put a rail behind the desk... whats the use case?
