I had my single mastectomy yesterday with expander and drains. They didn't keep me in, as the ward was too busy with coughing etc. Also I wasn't given any pain meds which I'm finding incredibly painful. I wasn't advised which bra to buy and this morning I work in extreme pain and sweats as I felt the bra was too tight round my chest and compressing the drains. My breast was really swollen. Ive called the breast clinic to get some advice but nobody is there all weekend and you just get told to go to emergency if a drain falls out or you get fever from infection. I wish I'd know about the different bras, the chest pillow thing. The car journey back home was painful as I felt every jolt if we had to stop suddenly. You're doing remarkably well. You're very honest, open and inspiring so thank you for sharing. I have a just turned 4 year old who is struggling to work out what's happened. New sub from UK England. Wishing you all the best xx

AMY!!! My sister💗👊🏻 You look Fab mama! Great video… good info. Wow ya know, I got the COVID too - right outta surgery- oof! It was terrible and still hvn symptoms- good grief! However, We’re Super Women & we keep pushin thru! So proud of us and the many others like us. I got the infusion and was blessed by its help. And also that I had been vax’d which I believed helped. I had my immunotherapy pushed back but will begin on this coming week! Oh I just love the hats! I rock em too & the most Fab scarfs I can get my hands on! Lol! My hair is lookn like yours … just as beautiful growing in and lovin it! So happy for us. I’m still bandaged up but the incision is beautiful. I’m grateful to our God & Lord. I’ve been taking care of myself and dng it all on my own … but I’m an independent woman w/an “S” on my chest! My surgery was 6+ hrs. And I’m wrkn on the stretching and movement exercises daily just by dng my housework lol. I cld imagine your strength and your wonderful husband and girls pulling you through everyday! It’s wonderful to see your post! And your beautiful face & new hair! And that smile… fuggetabouttit! Heehee your a champion mama! I’m cheering you on and sending you super positive vibes as well as prayers and love! 💗💗💗 God bless you & your family. I can’t wait to share more stories of our journeys as we progress well into our super survival and cure! 😘🤗💓💗💞💕

Amy you look great and are moving very well. Sorry you had to deal with Covid too. I am not a hat person either but I wore them from the time I got my head shaved until
My hair came back. Thank God the meds I am on now is not making me lose my hair even though it says it’s a side effect. Being metastatic I never know if that may happen again. So I am prepared with lots of hats. Thanks for the update and hope they get you back in track soon.

Hi Amy, I started my TBNC Stage 3 treatment with the taxol/carbo/Keytruda at about the same you were going through it. Now I am doing AC and Keytruda, so I am watching the older videos you made. I am in a location where I have no support group at all, so your videos are so helpful to me! You have a wonderful family - the girls are so sweet and beautiful! I am now asking a lot of questions about surgery, radiation and follow-up Keytruda. I will be at MD Anderson on March 17-18 - I am from out of state, so my husband and I will fly in for the testing and meet with my oncologist. Are there places within MDA or in the area that I should visit? The wig shop was closed due to COVID the last time I was there…I actually have so many questions, but I will try to talk to the Social worker before I go. Thank you again for these videos. I watch and re-watch them like crazy - they are so good and helpful!

Hi Linda. The wig store closed down in MDA so I never got to visit it. I have some recommendations that I can share in a video soon. If you want to know quicker, feel free to message me on instagram or email me!

Hopefully you are healing well now, I was diagnosed with BC ( HER2 positive) ( stage 1 ) on my left breast on 12/22/2022 and I’m going to get double mastectomy & reconstruction next Tuesday, not scared of cancer but I am scared of surgery pain 😂😂 thank you for sharing your journey, you are seem so relaxed strongly respected for your brave 💪🏼💪🏼
