  • This is a video about building a Four Seasons Sunroom. This featured glass kick-plates, electrical raceways, dimmers, ceiling lights, 4-inch roof system, rebar, concrete, and a skim coat finish. My wife Leticia worked on this sunroom with me throughout the project, including doing some of the electrical.

      You can add a larger footing for soil that doesn't have good compaction. In California, we don't have many sinking slabs, unless the property has really bad drainage

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  Год назад

      Hey Catlas, you can have engineering specify requirement for high wind zones. The greatest requirements we deal with in California are 130 MPH by me. I assume a Cat 5 is 150 mph plus? So the room would be a slightly different layout. More supprt mullions, larger footing, potentially different framing components.
      Great question, hope you have a great New Year,

    Thought for a 4 season sunroom you need to add an ac unit ?

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for your comment Gustavo, a Four Season Room refers to the product and R-Value of the room. AC Unit would be an add-on. The R-Value, shows how well your room is retaining or losing heat. Often the R-Value of a new patio room is higher than that of your house, depending on when it was build and if it has dual pane windows with Argon gas.

      Hello there Shaun, thank you for your comment. Normally the screens have a clips that hold them in. It's actually very simple.

    Awesome video! I’m also buying a Four Seasons sunroom. I have a quick question... how secure is the door? I plan on getting double french doors. Is the frame strong enough for me to install steel security doors ob the outside of the french doors? Thanks.

      Four Seasons is as good as it gets for sunrooms, so you should be good, just make sure they put properly installed utility mullions on either side of the door.
      Thanks for reaching out and I wish you the best on your new room,
      Alec

      @@EverydayPatio it looks like you cut back the eaves for the install. Is that typical?

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  3 года назад

      @@tigpix Hey Vanessa, it's quite common to cut back eaves, when installing a new patio/ or patio cover. It helps give you extra height for the patio cover.
      Thanks for the comment and we hope you have a good rest of your day,

    Roof looks like it will not hold up well with a lot of snow.

    • @EverydayPatio
      @EverydayPatio  7 месяцев назад

      It is a 4 inch roof, so it is rated for snow load, there also is a 6 inch roof option. More importantly, I would account for more pitch. In CA we only do 1/4 to 1/2 of pitch per ft. The more pitch you add, the more load the roof can properly support.
