The girls themselves introduce themselves as (G)I-dle and I-dle interchangeably so I wouldn’t worry about what you call them.
I think the consensus is I-dle in corea, g-i-dle when they are abroad and talk in english

When Soyeon raps the chorus "red 5 diamonds in my bag" every Neverlanders know who the 5th red diamond is.😢 the reference is to Soojin. She's sorely missed. Her comback recently was brilliant.
You picked the right video for "My Bag". Soyeon isn't just the leader and center... she also writes and produces the majority of (G)I-dles songs... all except one song on "Killing Voice".

For My Bag, this is definitely THE go-to video. And you can also check the lyrics cuz they absolutely flex in this song. It’s an anthem.
For personal context, my top-tier groups are Mamamoo and (g)i-dle. Period. Soyeon, in short, is a genius who, believe it or not, had to overcome numerous obstacles and prejudice to get where she (and the group) are today. As a group overview, I would divide the group's story into 'with Soojin' and 'after Soojin.' A (g)i-dle journey could simply start at the beginning (Latata) and go forward, which is a long journey. Or you could start with 'Lion,' a with-Soojin song where Soyeon first establishes her identity as 'lion queen,' then go forward to the first post-Soojin MV, Tomboy, to get a fast perspective. I am Yuqi bias, but I have to agree with the other commenter. Minnie is the cutest off stage, her and Wheein from Mamamoo must be the only adults I dont mind hearing their whiny noises.

I recommend a K-pop band called Onewe. It's the Mamamoo Brother group. This is a band that came out under the same project as Oneus. Currently, two people are in military service, but they will become a whole group early next year!

i honestly thing that if you’re gonna compare soyeon to anyone hongjoong is a good one considering they’re both leaders who are main rappers and also work heavily behind the scenes as well as have a huge presence on stage. glad you liked them! they’re one of the first kpop groups and the first girl group i got into so i’ve got a soft spot for them :)
if you haven’t heard any of their newest stuff like their recent english album then definitely listen to that. another good song is allergy, a bside from their latest korean comeback “i feel” where queencard is off of. it’s got a music video that goes in hand with queencard so maybe watching them both would be best.

Hi from Ireland enjoyable reaction, g idle definitely one if my favourite along with babymetal, am sure you will get loads of suggestions, I see xnude mentioned, it's great but make sure you do tomboy, and lion, amongst many more if course, lots of songs have a great message in them, allergy, queencard etc

0:22 Yes, "idle" or "gee idle" are both acceptable, though the former is more aligned with what they themselves originally wanted. But either is fine.
4:09 Shu-ya, no. 4:11 Shu-hwa, yes. 4:16 Shu-wa, acceptable, as "h" is very often skipped between vowels in Korean. You can't imagine how hard I laughed when you called her the "most sweet, cute". She is straight up savage. For example, a lot of idols will silently overlook mean comments. Some, like NewJeans Minji a couple of days ago, will gently rebuke the fandom (and report the offender). Shuhua will straight up yell at them, calling them trash. No reservations.
6:40 I don't think you picked wrong, but... my recommendation is Put It Straight, nightmare version (from Queendom). I'm not a RUclipsr and some people said it's MNet and they might be trigger-happy, but there are reactions to it, so I don't know what to tell you. Even if you decide not to upload it, please watch it; you can definitely safely upload the halloween version (which is a dance practice). The song started out as a sad B-side ballad about a woman suspecting her partner doesn't love her any more, and is begging alternately to hear that she's wrong, because she still loves them, and that she's right, so she can move on. But for Queendom Soyeon rearranged the song completely, adding rage and madness to the mix. The acting on the Queendom stage is superb, and it still remains the best, most impactful stage of anything I have ever seen. Not just from (G)I-DLE, not just from K-pop. Ever. The Halloween version is great but doesn't reach the Queendom version for me, though it has fun costumes and you can see the choreo clearly. And I also recommend hearing the original B-side beforehand, so you can hear the difference, and see the lyrics. But if you only watch one, Queendom is the one.
The Queendom performance of Lion is also great. MV-wise, I think Lion and Oh My God are the most stunning videos in their discography. And if you're there for Soyeon's badassery, I recommend Soyeon ft Bibi & Youngji - Is This Bad B****** Number.
