G-Idle run the gamut of pop genres. One song to the next sounds very different, which is one of my favorite tropes about them. If I listen to a Twice song, I can instantly catch on to it being a Twice song. Same for Blackpink, or other mainstream artists. I-Dle is a mixed bag. The best part is, they excel at whatever genre they take on. One of my favorite songs from them is a B-Side called "Put it Straight" which has a somber, haunting melody. But the 'nightmare version' of Put it Straight from Queendom is what really put them on the radar for a lot of Kpop listeners who had never heard of them. They followed up with 'Lion' and cemented themselves as a powerhouse group not to be forgotten. I highly recommend hearing hte original version 'Put It Straight', then watching the Queendom performance of 'Put It Straight (nightmare ver)'
To be honest, I prefer this kind of presentation to all the complex production videos that usually characterise a K-pop performance. This way, we can better focus on the ladies themselves, their beautiful vocals, and the way they interact as a group. As a choreography practice, it clearly demonstrates how super-fit they all are, and how hard they've all worked to get there...

Surprise Mrs Coach with the clip of Loco Featuring Minnie "Not Ok" - i suggest the Official Live version as I don't think she appears in the MV (she is, I just checked but I still prefer the official live). It's a great track and Minnie is amazing. Also Yuqi's solo tracks 'Giant' and 'Bonnie & Clyde' are well worth adding to your list.
Funny that you mentioned HyunA. They did perform Bubble Pop with HyunA during CUBE Concert. HyunA was still in Cube that time and (G)I-DLE joined HyunA during the bridge section of the song. You should check it out.

(G)I-dle is my fave group and has my 3rd, 4th, 5th favorite girls, lol. Miyeon, Minnnie, Yuqi all three could be my bias but Miyeon was who I picked first so I am trying to stick to that. Look up princess in the dictionary and there's probably a picture of her. If you want some second gen Big Bang, SNSD, Kara, BEG, so much more to see. I still think of myself as barely scratching the surface of the massive rabbit hole that kpop is.
Well,...interesting choice for so early in the (g)i-dle journey. Remember that Soyeon, who is the leader and who wrote this song, almost always has a message (or two). In My Bag, Soyeon sings that there are 'red five diamonds in my [Soyeon's] bag.' Then, each of the four members has a verse, and each of those verses is about the member who is singing it. (Coach, when you say that Miyeon really is a princess, Soyeon knows that too, and Yuqi's reference to a 'rumble' is to her own deep vocal range!) Sooo, it's fairly clear that each of the members is presented as a valuable gem in Soyeon's bag, each having different strengths and characteristics that she, as writer, producer and leader, can employ in crafting and performing their songs. But who is the fifth red diamond? lol Have fun.
Well, we initially felt the 5 diamonds were the 5 members, but if she is not including herself, then she must be referring to Soojin, we'd think. We liked how this one was structured.

@@CoachCastTV That entire album is full of references to Soojin. These ladies were very hurt by Cube, which is why they took a year-long break from performing. 'I Never Die' was their big comeback after Soojin was tossed. I am still a little bit surprised that the members did not all just walk out of the company altogether. But, well, the foreign members would have been shipped back home post-haste and Soyeon and Miyeon would never find work in the Korean Entertainment field again if they tried that. They would have been Black-listed and NOBODY would hire them, no matter how AMAZING they are, simply because they will have messed with Cube Entertainment. Cube is one of the bigger companies that has become too big for it's own breaches, thinking far too highly of itself. Really too bad that 'money talks' because that is exactly how they have gotten away with pulling their crap and still exist as a company. I know I have gone into detail about that before so I will not repeat that entire giant rant here.
G- Idle, Aespa, New jeans did a live performance at the biggest award in asia. MAMA 2023 performing their most recent new song Queencard. Those stages put way more $ and the stages are a lot whole lot bigger than America live stages. Its basically a huge stadium with multiple stages. Since I watch almost all of american award show at the end of the year too so I know. America award shows tend to use smaller event arena/ halls. I was expecting either Aespa or G-dile to win a grand prize like song of the year 2023 or album of the year but it didn't :(. However; New jeans - a kpop girl group came out 1 year ago are now just as big as blackpink, won two grand prizes in two biggest korea award show. MAMA 2023 and MMA 2023. Song of the year and artist of the year 2023. It has been over 10 years no female group has won 2 grand prizes in one award show until now. BTS has been wining it all recent years.

So some cool news, (G)I-DLE was in LA on Friday on the Jingle Ball tour, and since they had a little free time, Yuqi - who is a *HUGE* LeBron James fan, got to attend the LA Lakers game.against the Rockets on Saturday! Yuqi's wish come true - she always wanted to see the Lakers and Lebron play in person, and the Lakers organization was very sweet and put out a tweet welcoming Yuqi to the game - "Welcome to the #LakeShow, Yuqi 💜💛" with a very nice big picture of Yuqi in the seats all decked out in her Lakers gear. Yuqi absolutely loves basketball and especially Lebron, so this was a banner night for her, she said she's been dreaming of this night for ten years now. So congrats to Yuqi (you pronounced her name perfectly incidentally) for living her basketball dream!
Don't forget " Senorita " by (G)I-Idle Coach, though I'm sure you'll get to it since you've both agreed that they are one if not your favorite kpop girl group. I noticed it the most in (G) Idle's song " Hwaa " Although their speaking voices are so different, i found their vocal tones were quite similar. I almost think that's why YG ended up dropping Miyeon from Blackpink, her and Jisoo had similar sounds and since Jisoo had trained the longest with Jennie,Lisa and Rose', she was chosen. (G)I-dle is my fave group and has my 3rd, 4th, 5th favorite girls, lol. Miyeon, Minnnie, Yuqi all three could be my bias but Miyeon was who I picked first so I am trying to stick to that. Look up princess in the dictionary and there's probably a picture of her.
If you want some second gen Big Bang, SNSD, Kara, BEG, so much more to see. I still think of myself as barely scratching the surface of the massive rabbit hole that kpop is.

Well,...interesting choice for so early in the (g)i-dle journey. Remember that Soyeon, who is the leader and who wrote this song, almost always has a message (or two). In My Bag, Soyeon sings that there are 'red five diamonds in my [Soyeon's] bag.' Then, each of the four members has a verse, and each of those verses is about the member who is singing it. (Coach, when you say that Miyeon really is a princess, Soyeon knows that too, and Yuqi's reference to a 'rumble' is to her own deep vocal range!) Sooo, it's fairly clear that each of the members is presented as a valuable gem in Soyeon's bag, each having different strengths and characteristics that she, as writer, producer and leader, can employ in crafting and performing their songs. But who is the fifth red diamond? lol Have fun.
Well, we initially felt the 5 diamonds were the 5 members, but if she is not including herself, then she must be referring to Soojin, we'd think. We liked how this one was structured.

@@CoachCastTV That entire album is full of references to Soojin. These ladies were very hurt by Cube, which is why they took a year-long break from performing. 'I Never Die' was their big comeback after Soojin was tossed.
I am still a little bit surprised that the members did not all just walk out of the company altogether. But, well, the foreign members would have been shipped back home post-haste and Soyeon and Miyeon would never find work in the Korean Entertainment field again if they tried that. They would have been Black-listed and NOBODY would hire them, no matter how AMAZING they are, simply because they will have messed with Cube Entertainment.
Cube is one of the bigger companies that has become too big for it's own breaches, thinking far too highly of itself. Really too bad that 'money talks' because that is exactly how they have gotten away with pulling their crap and still exist as a company. I know I have gone into detail about that before so I will not repeat that entire giant rant here.

G- Idle, Aespa, New jeans did a live performance at the biggest award in asia. MAMA 2023 performing their most recent new song Queencard. Those stages put way more $ and the stages are a lot whole lot bigger than America live stages. Its basically a huge stadium with multiple stages. Since I watch almost all of american award show at the end of the year too so I know. America award shows tend to use smaller event arena/ halls. I was expecting either Aespa or G-dile to win a grand prize like song of the year 2023 or album of the year but it didn't :(. However; New jeans - a kpop girl group came out 1 year ago are now just as big as blackpink, won two grand prizes in two biggest korea award show. MAMA 2023 and MMA 2023. Song of the year and artist of the year 2023. It has been over 10 years no female group has won 2 grand prizes in one award show until now. BTS has been wining it all recent years.

It has to be said. Soyeon is one of the geniuses in kpop. Together with monster names like G-Dragon and Lee Chanhyuk. She wries and produces all their hit in order to fit the other memebers optimally. She is creating the image and directing everyting. She is one of few kpop stars that have influence even over the CEO of their company. Amazing. So some cool news, (G)I-DLE was in LA on Friday on the Jingle Ball tour, and since they had a little free time, Yuqi - who is a *HUGE* LeBron James fan, got to attend the LA Lakers game.against the Rockets on Saturday! Yuqi's wish come true - she always wanted to see the Lakers and Lebron play in person, and the Lakers organization was very sweet and put out a tweet welcoming Yuqi to the game - "Welcome to the #LakeShow, Yuqi 💜💛" with a very nice big picture of Yuqi in the seats all decked out in her Lakers gear. Yuqi absolutely loves basketball and especially Lebron, so this was a banner night for her, she said she's been dreaming of this night for ten years now. So congrats to Yuqi (you pronounced her name perfectly incidentally) for living her basketball dream!

@@CoachCastTV sounds great, btw, if your curious, listen carefully to Miyeon's tone of voice and you might notice it's very similar to Jisoo of Blackpink. I noticed it the most in (G) Idle's song " Hwaa " Although their speaking voices are so different, i found their vocal tones were quite similar. I almost think that's why YG ended up dropping Miyeon from Blackpink, her and Jisoo had similar sounds and since Jisoo had trained the longest with Jennie,Lisa and Rose', she was chosen. I'm so glad Miyeon was chosen for (G)I-dle , though not as famous as Blackpink , they are equally as talented.

Besides the big girl group you already reacted to Blackpink, G-idle, red velvet, mamamoo. You only have a few more super Giant girl group left that is still active in this generation :) Aespa, Twice, New jeans, Ive - the giant seller of 1million album + sales in a short period of time. @@CoachCastTV true kpop group are over saturated than western artist. They have so many over hundreds and hundreds. A new group can pop up in a daily basis, but super giant groups , there isn’t much. Its doable for u 😂. The one that most people mention on your comments is like under 5-6 groups that are million + album seller. If you notice live award stages why its like x3 time bigger than american stages. I assume they have so many artist so they have 3 difference stages within a giant stage to prepare the next stage performance right away without delay
