fun fact about snakes: it’s very stressful for them to shed their skin, so they go into hiding when they do it. megan being in a glass box while shedding her skin is very symbolic to her pain and struggle, AND her growth.

This was such an amazing debut from her as an independent artist and I hope she continues to move upward. A painful, but beautiful story that she told. I been a fan of hers for a while and I am so ready for her strong comeback to music

in snakes they would need to be alone in a safe space, but i feel like megan used the imagery to highlight how alone she was when as a social species, this was a vulnerable time in her life where she NEEDED that support from others, but didnt get it. so she was *forced* to be like a snake, dealing with it by herself yet not even allowed to be truly alone and safe with all those eyes on her.

As far as the song, I fw it heavy. I love double entendres as much as everybody else, but something about introspective and blunt lyrics can really sell a song for me and this song really pulled it tf off. Esp with whoever made the choices on video direction. In the first verse, standing up and yelling at the snake then the immediate switch to the dark room when she says “At night, I’m sitting in a dark room thinking”. Second verse, peeling her skin while talking about what she’s dealing with. Third/verse outro, “back outside and back in motion” with the choreography. Traumazine did not get the proper recognition due to ppl hating on her and her own label sabotaging, but that was a solid album. If this next albums production is on this level, I’m gonna be hooked.
