shuhua and soojin really did have a very wholesome relationship, they were really cute and funny with each other, they probably still do but we just don't get to see it

Soyeon is my bias and Shuhua is my wrecker, that's how it's been for 2 years now... but Shuhua has been hard wrecking me more and more, and I think she's touching the bias finish line. But I still bias Soyeon because she's just a genius and it's hard not to give your attention to a genius.

The Rise of (G)I-DLE from lovinsoojin is actually the most accurate and complete "guide" (it's a documentary) to watch. Although it's not updated to 2022, it REALLY IS a "must watch" to get to know them better. I recommend you to watch it if you want it ;)

When Soyeon made a new Song she is always singing the full song and then showing it her members and asks them if they like it. Also to show how she wants it to sound like so that’s it’s a bit easier for her members. What a Queen she is

On Yuqi's name: As you know, Korean has lots of borrowings from Chinese; so pretty much all Chinese characters have their Korean pronunciation. Yuqi -- or rather Yǔqí -- is the standard transliteration of her Mandarin name 雨琦 (rain jade), pronounced similar to 의치 (something like yuechee, but it's not really possible to represent it in English correctly). Why is "q" pronounced as "ch"? It just is. Probably has to do with the fact "ch" already represented a different consonant already, and "q" was loitering around uselessly. However, whenever she is not speaking Chinese (i.e. including when speaking English), she pronounces her name the Korean way - 우기 (woogie). Many people on RUclips think it is 유키 (yookie), but it is not. But for example Yuki of Purple Kiss (who is Japanese) does have that pronunciation.
Same happened with Tsuyu from Twice (why is she Chewy? because that's how Koreans pronounce her characters.)
On the other hand, Shuhua decided to import the pronunciation, not the characters. If she did what Yuqi and Tsuyu did, her name'd sound like Seohwa (서화), but she's Syuhwa (슈화), sounding very close to her name in her native language.

Thank you so much for reacting to my guide! Also, it's honestly perfectly fine if you say (G)I-DLE. The girls say the "G" sometimes too aha. I loved your reaction!
This was my first time making a guide so I will be addressing all the teeny mistakes/confusions:
    1. Soojin left GIDLE in August 2021. I-DLE's year long hiatus was from FEB 2021 to FEB 2022.
    2. Soyeon and Miyeon are the only two I-DLE members of K/DA, the others are American artists. (I rushed this and forgot to say Soyeon was K/DA 2/2)
    3. Minnie is of actual royal descent, it's not a fandom joke. Though it is very unbelievable so I get why you would've thought so lmfao.
    4. The song you recognized was indeed "villain dies."
    5. Yes, Soojin adored Marilyn Manroe! She was her role model and even her lock screen on her phone for a while.
    6. Soyeon was indeed on Produce 101, I recommend checking out her performances from the show, they're amazing, and she was still in high school back then!
    7. You're correct about that not typically being Soyeon's part in Lion. Minnie usually sings it, but Soyeon did a solo version of lion here.
    8. No, the one dancing with Soojin in her dance videos is Soojin's dance teacher.
    9. Yeah I get what you mean about the deep voiced version normally getting assigned the rapper role, Yuqi was actually training in cube to be a rapper until Soyeon came along. Soyeon was the one that made the calls from there on out, even getting special vocal teachers for each of the girls to make sure their unique qualities weren't trained out of them as is done in many companies unfortunately.
    10. Now this one isn't from my guide but we aren't too sure of living conditions now as they did move dorms after Soojin left. All we know (as far as I'm aware) is that Soyeon lives alone (hence her appearance on "I live alone").

I don't know if it would help you with understanding the members better or anything like that, but there's a couple clips from Miyeon's (and later the whole group's) interview on k-star next door with jonathan and those episodes are always super fun no matter the guests. If he's interviewed anyone you're interested in you should totally check it out (not asking for a reaction or anything, I just think the channel is funny and Jonathan is a great host)

With Miyeon being an ex-YG trainee, she was originally supposed to debut with BLACKPINK. The group was originally called “Pink Punk” and consisted of 9 members.
However, because the debut kept getting pushed back, Miyeon left YG because she wanted to debut quickly. Thus, she became part of CUBE entertainment and eventually joined IDLE

I'm onboard with you, watching along with these guides again!
The first guide's list of videos is a good one~ I-Dle have put out a lot of behind-the-scenes and promotional material.
Personally, I've watched what I can find, and I think there's a few that let you get to know the gals deeper:
One of the most recent was a show centered around drinking with the host, an ex-Super Junior idol Kim Heechul, called "Street Alcohol Fighter." They were on to promote 'NXDE' and go in-depth into the concept, meaning, and personal feelings while getting slightly tipsy. They don't hold ANYthing back. And they also introduce themselves so you can hear their names pronounced. (ENG subs available.)
'Secret Folder' is best watched after seeing their Queendom performances. It was literally their clap-back at haters for the things they said about their performances and talent. (ENG subs available.)
HIT VILLAGE variety show - they REALLY roast each other and show their closeness. (ENG subs available.)
" (G)I-DLE's tomboy promotions in a nutshell *wild* " by Alydle - gives you a lot of their chaotic energy, but warning: you will have to pause a lot to read the text.
"Learn Way [Season 1]" was a variety show starring Yuqi in Season 1 - if she is your favorite, you HAVE to watch, because she is a natural-born host. She will have her own show in the future for sure. (ENG subs available.)
The "I-Talk" series has a LOT of good behind the scenes moments that get clipped. The "Vlives" have a lot of good moments as well. The easiest way to digest these are the fan-made compilations, if you are trying to get the most bang for your buck.

Actually, "Jee-Idol" is fine to say. The "( )I-DLE" was for the Tomboy promotions (because the song is based on "It's neither man nor woman" so the G was excluded in the promotion ). If you look at anything past that - every stop on the world tour, every promotion for the I Love album, etc - they call themselves "Jee-Idol" all the time. It is just fine calling them G-IDLE or I-DLE. This has been an argument with Neverland for the longest time. It's fine to call them "Jee-Idol" or "Idol". Personally I prefer calling them "Jee-Idol". It's only the tightly-wound Neverland that demand there is only one way to pronounce the group name. In short, don't worry, you can pronounce it either way, and don't feel pressured which ever way you choose to pronounce their name.
The first guide isn't the greatest as it jumps around too much and for as long as it is, it doesn't explain many things properly. But if you have any questions, just ask, there will be a lot of Neverland who will come to your channel and be happy to answer your questions!
Wondering if you could react to HANN (ALONE). Soyeon wrote (1) HANN (ALONE), (2) HANN (Alone In Winter), and (3) HWAA as a trilogy. HANN (ALONE) has a music video and was released in 2018. (Hann - alone in winter only has a lyrics video). (If you're wondering why the other two (released on the "I-BURN" album) took so long to release, Cube didn't think HWAA was any good and rejected HWAA, the girls had to re-submit it for approval a few times before Cube accepted it. HWAA went on to win 10 music show awards. But you'll love HANN, you can see how HANN and HWAA tie together as you watch.)
The whistle in HANN (ALONE) is done by Minnie.
Thank you for the time you put into this reaction, and looking forward to more (G)I-DLE content soon!

I fully disagree with your first paragraph, as far back as I can remember they introduced themselves as "I-Dle", they OFFICIALLY dropped the (G) during the Tomboy promotion in their songs (this is why at the end of the MV their name is crossed out by Soyeon and only says 'I-Dle') Here's a clip of them promoting Latata on radio ruclips.net/video/4IdYBCSbZcI/видео.html 38 seconds in they introduce themselves.
The only reason they had the (G) added in the first place is because Cube Entertainment insisted they add it, afraid their name would get misconstrued on it's own. Obviously, they are well-known enough now people don't confuse "I-Dle" with a generic "Idol" group.

    • @coolandtrending
      @coolandtrending Год назад +1

You must not watch much of their content, cuz ever since their debut, they introduce themselves to all English-speaking audiences as "Jee Idol". And every stop on the world tour aside of Korea, at the beginning and at the end, they say, "We are Jee-Idol". The only place they introduce themselves as anything other than that is in Korea and Japan. Yes, your clip is not in English. But to all English speaking audiences, all the time, watch how they introduce themselves. It is "Jee Idol", not "Idol". If they introduce themselves as "Jee Idol", it is completely fine for us to call them that too. And it's with Spanish audiences too, and Indonesia and many other countries, they introduce themselves there as "Jee Idol" also. You're welcome to disagree if you want to, but facts are facts. Watch any promotion, clip or any stop on the world tour. It's been this way since the beginning right up until now, and for the "I_LOVE" album, you'll also notice the "G" is back in the name. It was only taken out for Tomboy promotions.

Pretty sure you know this by now, but Nxde wasn't just inspired by Marilyn Monroe, Soojin was also the inspiration since the album "I Love" was directly released after Soojin's departure. Soojin's main inspiration was Marilyn Monroe and all the girls new that so safe to say that "Marilyn" was the inspiration when we all know that Soojin was. The animated character in the Nxde MV is also a Soojin reference as you can see that she has the "eye mole" as Soojin does. Pretty much the entire album has dedication and references for Soojin. Shuhua, she chose to have less lines due to not feeling confident in her Korean. As Soojin taught her more (Yes, Soojin is the one who taught her Korean the most. You'd think Yuqi since they both speak Chinese,) Shuhua felt more confident and took on more lines in songs actually starting with "Uh oh." Queendom also helped Shuhua since she was the center for "Lion." As of now with 5 members, Shuhua obtained most of Soojin's lines in their OT6 songs and a lot of people including (G)I-Dle themselves consider Shuhua to be "Soojin 2." (They also referenced it in "Never ending Neverland ep. 2 pt. 1)

I'd love to see queendom/kingdom stuff! I've watched every season multiple times, theyre so good and it always pushes the groups to be at the top of their games and really brings out the best in them! By the finale theyre almost always giving some of the best performances of their careers, and they usually end up making (imo) some of the best songs of their careers for the finale.
    Its so great.
The thing of them "in the rain" (8:50) is Waterbomb festival, which finally came back this year after a covid hiatus. everyone is encouraged to bring water guns and blast the artists performing, its always a really fun time.

While waiting for the queendom 2 episodes (1 per week), i take my time to watch the 1st one, that i only know Mamamoo at the time, that's how i discovered I-dle, and after Dreamcatcher, that i like almost every song and Mamamoo, is prob the group i like more songs. There many good B-sides to listen.
Oh, it's my 1st time watching a guide too :D
About K/DA, many people that like the songs doesn't know the members, cuz they promote the 4 members as characters of the game in the MV, and because League Of Legends is a game with really alot of players, the title song MV has much more views than i-dle "biggest" MV.
