I think it's crazy how everybody compares a full backed chair with a headrest and adjustable support pillow to a half backed office chair. They're entirely different classes of 'lounge chair' vs 'office chair'
@@jenga2017 While for some people thats true, thats not completely the case. Many people have only one chair that they use for 8+ hours per day and just want to know what the best chair they can get for their money. A lot of people buy the Secretlab as their main chair because its all they know and see it a lot online due to their aggressive marketing and branding and assume its the most comfortable chair full stop. Theyre not looking at whats the best for lounging vs best for office work. They just need a chair they can sit in all day.
As someone who is genuinely considering buying one of these chairs, but hasn't because of the price, this is seriously a fantastic video. You're one of the few people I've seen do a review where you talk about the seat comfort. I'm tired of chairs having too firm of a seat, and I didn't know if this chair would be soft of hard, hearing that it's harder than most chairs in this genre, makes me seriously reconsider my potential choice, especially for the like $700 CAD that it is. Everything else seems awesome about the chair, but as someone who sits for like 10+ hours a day easily, I need something that won't be hurting my butt. Do you happen to know any other chair that is as good as this brand seems, but also has a better seat? Something softer and whatnot. I love the reclining features of this chair, I've had chairs that simply couldn't recline or adjust nearly as much as I needed or wanted, and it's a serious struggle to find a good and seriously SOLID quality chair that won't start wearing and tearing or break a few months to a year into owning it. It's a lot of money to invest in something I don't know, any tips, advice, recommendations would be seriously appreciated.
Hi there! Appreciate the kind words. It depends on the type of chair you're looking for. As far as these racing style gaming chairs go, there's not that many options better than the Secretlab. The new Fractal Refine chair is similar to a racing chair, but still has a relatively firm seat (but not rock hard like the Secretlab). But if you're open to a regular ergonomic office chair then there's plenty of better options. The Haworth Soji, the chair I mentioned towards the end of the video, is probably the best chair you're gonna get for a similar price to the Secretlab. Haworth is one of the most reputable office chair brands out there and you have a 12 year warranty with that. The seat is firm, but not hard, which is what you want. You don't want a seat to be soft if you're gonna be sitting in it for long hours because it's bad for your back long term.
@@sleeksetups Yeah that's true, and I do sit for long periods of time. How rock hard is the Titan Evo? Like, I've heard it compared to a Wooden chair, is that accurate, or is there some give to it? The reason I want this chair is because of the reclining features as well; not a lot of good and comfy chairs offer this level of reclining and adjustability.
@@MistahSoul It definitely has some give to it. Calling it rock hard or comparable to a wooden chair is a bit of an exaggeration. Its just a lot firmer than most chairs.
I have 3 of them. 2 Evo's and 1 2020 model. Just get a seat cushion and you're good. for me, yea the chairs were hard it first but it does get better. It is "Softer firm" once broken in....if that makes sense.
@@Jc50gt I totally get it, mine just arrived, It's not terrible honestly. It's firmer than I would've liked, but the more I sit on it, the more I enjoy it.

i have had my WOW alliance chair since 2021 and i will put against any chair on the market...yes it has its issues but over all it has been the best chair for a large set person like myself.
so that chair actually still functions after two years, thats already good for me. Most of the gaming chairs did not survive two years before something didn´t work or the seat was so messed up that you could see the foam (in that specific case it was both) for me. I always only spend around 150€ on the gaming chairs and really thinking about getting the secret lab because I want something that does not break within a year, while using it a few hours every day.
I just received this chair today and I will say the seat is a little too hard for me, the chair design and build quality is great, but the seat is just a little too firm. Has it gotten softer for you over this two year span?
@@Walt._123 Honestly, if you don't like it now then it's probably not going to get significantly more comfortable over time. The only thing to consider is that there might be a bit of an adjustment period like any new chair. That said, I still think there are more comfortable options in this price range.
Wait until it starts affecting your lower legs and back. I was all happy when I first got my Titan Evo, even though, yes, the seat is hard and uncomfortable, but figured it would break in. It does soften...a little. Three years later, I have to use some sort of seat cushion or butt donut to even sit in the thing. Something about the front lip of the seat also seems to restrict blood flow to my lower legs and maybe has caused nerve damage, I don't know. It gradually started in the second year and took a while for me to really realize what was happening. The adjustable lumbar inside the chair back is a squeaky mess whenever I move around or shift. I had to buy some memory foam arm rest covers because they feel a little hard after a while. The only positives after three years, for me personally, the pneumatic cylinder is still solid without any leakage or slippage. The chair still "feels" solid, if that even matters. None of it matters to me. I hate this chair. In no way does it feel ergonomic. It feels like an expensive gaming chair. If that's what you're looking for, then enjoy.
I bought my dark knight 2021 edition back in march 2021 before they upgraded to the better material. I'm looking to either get me a softweave or the monster hunter rathalos.. im thinking the softweave will be more comfy compared to another leather. Now nothing is really wrong with mine other than the cushion kinda feeling flat after the 4 years of severe use! but it still looks new. The chairs are worth it.
My 2020 secretlab titan is extremely stiff. I don’t think it’s genuinely designed to be used for sustained gaming or sitting in general. The build quality however is excellent. Looks the same as it did 5 years ago
So, thing is I'm on the bigger side (tdlr, I'm at least 300lbs from medical reasons that are being worked on). I can comp for back support and stuff if I need to but how many other options are there for people in my case? My setup is gonna be pink/green in pastels and I want to try to keep to that without spending as much if possible
Avoid this chair like the plague. Mine squeaks and moves when locked and the rollerblade casters destroyed themselves with10 months. The support just doesn't want to try fixing or replacing anything. No refunds and no replacements so the warranty means nothing.

I ended up buying this chair after watching those kinds of videos. After a year of use, it’s immediately clear that the quality isn’t there, especially with the armrests tearing apart even without heavy use. Don’t trust this guy when he tells you it’s a quality chair.
The Haworth Soji doesn't have headrest, how can you ignore that fundamental fact? If you plan to spend a lot of hours per day, a headrest is essential.

Turns out your neck and shoulders are pretty good at supporting your head. Go figure
@@sleeksetups This is kinda the problem with so-called ergonomic chairs. The manufacturers of these chairs have designed them for sitting upright at a desk typing on a keyboard like working in an office. That is a different use case entirely from people that want to use these chairs for gaming/lounging/laying back/slouching, etc. I have a Steelcase Leap now and it is in fact fantastic if I want to be in an upright, working position. However, if I want to recline back, put my feet up on an ottoman, slouch or recline, it's really terrible. It actually makes my back hurt if I want to put my feet up for any length of time. I think this is mainly because the Steecase has no tilt adjustment. It cannot rock back. For me the full size back plus headrest is an absolute necessity. So, what to do now, if the SecretLab sucks, and the Steelcase is uncomfortable for me to slouch/recline in, then what am I to do?
i got the titan XL softweave for 606€ thats around 650-680$ dollar... and my cushion already flattened out after 2 months, im 6'2 - 220 pounds so way below the max weight for the XL... would not recommend the chair... its insane, the build quality is nice but the cushions are just poor.. and this amount of money and 2 months in and already flat as a pancake and i have a metal bar under my assbone should not happen at all!
I had one for a couple years now, I wish I got leather instead of fabric. I also got an XL which was a mistake. I though it had to do with height. I'm a little over 6 ft so I got it thinking it would be a little higher where they have the back support but no its just wide as hell. So I find myself sitting crisscross in it and just over time the oils from my feet bleed into the fabric so I wash it every few weeks really noticeable on the light color fabrics.
So I'm after a comfy chair, as I've got a herniated disk, l5/s1 and I'm really unsure if this will be a good match with the comfort...do you have any back issues and has it helped at all?
First of all just to preface, I'm not a doctor, so don't take any recommendations as medical advice :). But second of all, if you're looking for something to help with back support, then this chair definitely isn't it due to the basically flat backrest. I do suffer from lower back pain, which is what go me into ergonomic office chairs in the first place. I'd much prefer something like the Steelcase Leap over any gaming chair.
@@sleeksetups Hey thank you so much replying. Was going to get one of the Arcane gaming chairs as loved the Jinx one but if it's going to be painful for my back, not the best then! Will check out the steelcase leap. Thanks so much!
yeah both chairs you have linked look like they suck, I just re bought my secret lab evo after 5 years from the titan, if you 6'3 240lbs these are the most comfortable...
It's been 2 years but your white chair is still like new and not dirty,😮 has the fabric smelled for 2 years?😮 I'm confused about choosing a chair material for my first secret lab, whether leatherette or softweave ? I work at home often without clothes or bare chest and there is no air conditioning in my room and I also sweat easily. Do you have any suggestions?😮
NEVER BUY these chairs! I had one for almost 2 years and let me tell you the cushion that you sit on is hard as rock (even after what secret labs told me would soften up over time) The back of the chair is just a straight up rubbish design, you have to use the supplied lumbar cushion, and that cushion is as soft as air and is more or less pointless. Yes these charis look good but if you are going to game for hours on end, this is not the chair for you.
100% agreed. I've been seating on one of these secretlab chairs for about 3-4 years. There's really nothing special in terms of comfort. Kindda regret splurging on it. Additionally the locking mechanism went defective after 3-4 years using it. Now my chair is constantly in rocking mode. They are asking about $100 to get it fixed. I think I'll be leaving them and going with other more ergonomic brands.
Thanks for this review, Dan. Was considering the Ekko edition but I like a soft seat for my ass. 😂 Thing is, I'm 6 ft tall and would like a chair that I can rest my head against. I presume a Hayworth Soji won't have a back that big? Thanks.
Lol I see Arcane got you too 😂 Yea the soji doesn't have a high-back or a headrest option. Headrests aren't necessary for ergonomic positioning so most of the higher-end office chair brands don't include them. But a lot of people like having the option for lounging
@sleeksetups Very nearly, aye. 😂 Okay, that's good to know. I'll take a look into the Soji. Are there any chairs you might recommend with a high back and soft, comfortable seat for prolonged sessions? Office or gaming, no matter which. Thanks again!

What colorway is this?
softweave fabric plus Arctic White
@ thanks!
You never removed the tag?
Nope, I leave a little allen wrench tool in the pouch just in case
yeah both chairs you have linked look like they suck, I just re bought my secret lab evo after 5 years from the titan, if you 6'3 240lbs these are the most comfortable...
Hope you like it
It's been 2 years but your white chair is still like new and not dirty,😮
has the fabric smelled for 2 years?😮
I'm confused about choosing a chair material for my first secret lab, whether leatherette or softweave ?
I work at home often without clothes or bare chest and there is no air conditioning in my room and I also sweat easily.
Do you have any suggestions?😮
NEVER BUY these chairs! I had one for almost 2 years and let me tell you the cushion that you sit on is hard as rock (even after what secret labs told me would soften up over time)
The back of the chair is just a straight up rubbish design, you have to use the supplied lumbar cushion, and that cushion is as soft as air and is more or less pointless.
I think I'll be leaving them and going with other more ergonomic brands.
as a big boy I can't find a chair that works with my bottom... everything hurts my tush 😭
i wonder how a donut design would work on a gaming chair, would look goofy as hell but probably comfortable
@@sleeksetups I've the same question as @scehr. I just need a comfortable seat (with the mentioned S-curve) for prolonged sessions with a headrest. Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
this chair is amazing if you use it only for 30 minutes after that is torture .
93 subs and they sent u one for free?!
They sent me this chair from a different brand I used to own :)
🚩PLEASE dont waste your money..had this chair for a year, biggest regret. Way overhyped, and u might as well put a towel on the floor to get the feeling of this chair😂..that being said, any buyers?looks like new 😅
Sounds like my kind of chair. I sleep on an extra firm mattress, so this'll be great I think. Thanks! 🎉
Best chair on the market.
@MillencolinSweetMuz would you like to purchase another..u could have 2 best chairs in the market 🤷♂️
Js bought one yesterday
@@jjafk37please tell me an honest review how is the chair ?
Blacl ops 6 builds
it is not totally worth, it's really uncomfortable. Worst purchase I've ever made.
I’ve used a noblechair for the last 5 years and THAT is hard 🥲😂
But on the bright side it still looks perfect so, can’t fault the quality. Just the comfort lol.
