    Solid and, relatable remarks.
TL;DR: I like my chair, share his complaints. Still recommend, tell them to F off with shilling for your extra two years on your warranty.
I got the 2022 model Titan, and at 6' 4" I opted for the regular size to save some extra cash. I was replacing a really nice Steelcase office chair that had officially run its course and was causing some significant back pain, especially after the gym. They recommended the XL size, and I went with my wallet and judgement.
I'm very much of the "buy once, cry once" mentality and did plenty of research and have my own gripes about Secretlab, chief among them is that in order to get your full, 5-year warranty you must shill your personally owned chair for them. I think that is a dirty practice and will do my part to share that element.
It panned out well to choose the regular size, despite my height. It is a VERY tall chair, and even with my natural tendency to sit textbook perfect, this chair is more than adequate. I can't imagine what I would have benefitted from an even TALLER chair, or deeper seat. Long legs and all, it fits me fine. The armrests do indeed rattle more than I'd like to accept from a chair at this pricepoint, and I appreciate him pointing out it is not related to the magmount toprests. That element is a marketing gimmick to sell their alternative for an extra $80, which feels like a gouge in my humble opinion. Side note for that: if you're like me and wear a mechanical watch, these magnetic mounts MAY screw with your watch's balance, if it isn't magnetic protected. The magnets holding the mounts and pillow for that matter are impressively strong. My wrist rests RIGHT on the magnets and I have been keeping mind of my time to see if it begins to affect the watch.
I have to have this chair at the peak of its height for my legs to feel naturally comfortable, notably due to my height. The armrest adjustments are very keen, and if you go below the chair you can even pull them in or out with the hardware. Speaking of hardware, the included toolkit was excellent, and I have nothing but compliments there. The bolts all seem to be stainless and have lockwashers and washers, so I haven't felt the need to throw on some loctite for good measure.
The seat is deep, to my taste. That is to say to fully rest your back to the backrest, your butt has to be pretty deep and the seat supports a good chunk of your thighs. The fabric option (which I opted for) is not as "soft" as I anticipated, given the trademarked title. It has a coarseness to it, but doesn't feel abrasive, maybe "rugged" would suit that term. Even with the fabric option, it retains heat, which I attribute to the density of the foam cushions. I run hot naturally, and my previous mesh back chair didn't hold any heat (obviously). I attribute this a testament to the density, and likely, longevity of the foam. Worth noting, as I opted for the fabric to keep cooler in the summer. It's Spring and it already runs warm.
I actually really like the gimmick of the magmounted pillow. It just works for ME. I don't rest on it when I'm actually gaming, but when I lounge in my chair, it it nice to not fight a band that involuntarily moves a neck pillow around.
It is indeed a firm chair, not remotely a cloud, but I do not mind. Even with my nonexistant white boy butt, it's fine to sit in for extended periods but I will again cite that I tend to hold good posture by nature.
The controls are all good, and very easily accessible from a seated position. The handle to move the backrest does however feel like the cheapest part of the chair, and you will note that everytime you use it.
Last but not least, the casters are phenomenal. They roll great on carpet and don't try to "guide" the chair when you roll. They go pretty understated. It's a feel thing and difficult to describe.
Overall, I do like mine and it's dang cozy. I'd recommend it to anyone eyeballing one, or a gaming chair. It gets a solid pass on my scale.

You still stand with the regular size?

    • @RolandsDad
      @RolandsDad 8 месяцев назад +2

@@ManBoogey1 I honestly still rock this chair, but now due to price not quality. It's a fairly comfortable chair with a lot I dislike now. It's clattery as hell. None of the adjustable armrest features are solid, they all wobble. It was a feature for them, not a bug. The detachable tops for the armrests are polyurethane and deteriorating, and this is with one year's use. They sell "better" ones, naturally, and at a premium.
The seat itself is rock solid, and I haven't had any issues such as discomfort, back pain, anything like that. It's a reasonably firm chair, but I've been okay with it. It still looks out of box new to me, but I also clean it regularly, and don't trash my stuff. The massive holds for me are the arm rests. They're trash, and I can't bear them for the price asked. Had I the money, I'd get another Steelcase and call it a day.

I have chronic back pain at 24 years old from years of bad posture. Got the titan Evo 2022 a few months ago and although it didn’t “fix” my back pain, it certainly isn’t making it worse and I can definitely tolerate long gaming sessions better than I used to in my previous chair. I 100% agree that it’s quite firm and sometimes the seat begins to hurt if I’m playing for a particularly long time. The back rest is a bit firm as well and occasionally I have to reduce the lumbar support a little bit. Besides that I’m happy with my purchase and I can just tell that it’s going to maintain its quality for years

For what it's worth, I have the 2020 Omega fabric chair and I've been using it for the better part of a year now with daily use. My sessions range anywhere from 2 to 14 hours. The chair is definitely firm, but I use the lumbar and neck support pillows, and they help immensely to prevent discomfort. There's no rips in the fabric, no signs of wear, and it's retained it's shape the entire time. The legs are metal and the armrests are a condensed foam with metal frames and levers for adjustments. The SecretLab chairs are definitely built to last, which I'd hope so, because mine ran me almost $400USD. I also don't have back spasms with the chair, partly due to the fact that slouching in the chair is very uncomfortable, so I found myself actually sitting properly over time.

I've had the exact same 2022 as in the video since just before new year. The firmness takes some getting used to, but I started to like it. It's firm enough that you don't sag away in the chair, yet still not hard enough to be a pain in the butt (ha). The magnetic armrests aren't for long-term exchange when they're worn, but they're for upgrading and swapping them with new materials. The technogel for example, and maybe they'd introduce more.

I previously owned a Secret Lab Gaming chair for about 2 years and I would use it quite often. At first I noticed it was extremely firm which I wasn't a fan of. I later found out that from the company that the chair would have a break in period and that it would take some time to get the chair adjusted to my body. It never did in my opinion because even after two years of use, I could only sit in the chair for maybe two hours. After that I would start to have severe back pain. I do have a bad back but that Secret Lab chair would always cause me discomfort after use. I recently sold my chair and I am in the market for a Steelcase Leap V2. My only complaint is that the hard seat has broken down and my butt hurts after just few hours. Looking at seat pads now... but for $500 it shouldn't do that. The pillow does not fall at all for me. The problem is I HAD to get XL to support my weight, so its a little bit tall, not bad though. The PU leather is holding up VERY well and I tend to be rough on seating surfaces in the past. I bought one of these cause I see everyone using them and raving about them. It's the most uncomfortable thing I ever sat on. It's like seating on the bleachers, my butt falls a sleep in 5 mins. The back offers no lower back support and pushes the upper back forward causing a lot of pain and pressure in lower back, this makes your neck and head to far away to lean back. Your looking up at the ceiling under your glasses. I wasted 400 dollars, it cost more then half the price to send back. It says it's for people my size but the chair is so high my feet barely touch the ground and it's at the lowest it goes, I wish I could attach the photo so you could see it next to my old chair I wanted to replace and how much taller it is. The back is really tall and straight the bottom is very flat and square, feels like the back wants you to sit one way and the bottom wants you to sit another way. I thought it was gonna be like buying a seat from a truck but it's nothing like a truck seat. You have been warned. I'm stuck with this paper weight. The 2020 is one of the taller gaming chairs out there. I also use the roller blade style wheels to protect my floor (and they're SILENT) which also adds almost 3/4" which doesn't sound like a lot but depending on your desk height it makes a big difference. I built my desk so I was able to customize its height but definitely be aware of the height of the chair.

I got the respawn gaming recliner chair, and it's by far the best chair I have ever had in my life and it's much better than these other crap chairs. One the arms are recliner style and even cup holders, two it has a good foot rest position to stretch legs out and just lay back. It's comfortable leather style, has a good lumbar head rest (i am 5 foot 7). I bought this couchmaster thing on amazon to go with the chair, it has like a table with built in usb ports and you can put your keyboard and mouse on it, has these large arm rests that sit on top of the arm rests of the chair, the board lays across. I got it made honestly, check out the respawn recliner, only complain is it gets hot easy cause of the leather, and it sits lower with no height adjustment on the chair, just a complete tilt to lay back and foot rest tilt.

Perhaps it was already stated in the comments, but the point of the hot swappable arm rests are not just for easy replacement, but for easy upgrade to new premium arm rests that are on the Secretlab
site. I wonder how long until after market additions such as a cup holder will take advantage of that feature? Maybe it already has happened? Or modding more easily to reskin the upholstery tom something even more customized. Or to hot swap to restraint hardware when you want your person in question to be restrained in comfort and style. The possibilities are limited only to your imagination.

In addition to that, there's hardly any cushioning to the back, so it feels like I'm just sitting my back up against a board. The seat cushion broke in enough over time as to not be overly uncomfortable, but at this point I wouldn't buy another Secretlab chair until they improve the padding dramatically.

I've owned a 2022 SoftWeave one for a few months now. Didn't want to spend the money for a proper office chair nor did I want to buy something low quality. I think this chair strikes a good compromise. I plan on sticking with it for another 5-7 years assuming it holds up.
The chair has a lot of gimmicks as pointed out in the video, the whole magnet thing is entirely pointless. Also, I use the cushion as lumbar pillow, and no it's not magnetized at that level but it makes the chair more comfortable for me.
A lot of users have complained about squeaking and creaking. No sounds here but I'm a light dude so who knows. The chair is also very stiff, I personally don't mind that but some may find that bothersome. My main issue is the racing-seat design with sides that aren't comfortable to lean on.
Overall, I also recommend getting the previous model since the price point is the main reason for buying this chair and not opting for an office or used office chair instead.

I've had a Secretlab 2020 Omega chair with the softweave fabric since Nov of 2020 and it has been really good. I like the fact that the seat cushion is really firm and find it comfortable. I even bought my dad one of the chairs for his birthday recently
But I do wish that my armrests pads were either the Titan's magnetic type or the updated Omega ones that can be removed by undoing a screw and popping the pad off. One of my armrests had become very loose and just recently it actually came off the upright support. The pad and mechanism were secured to the plastic portion of upright by four screws and the heads are underneath the pad. Unfortunately, the armrest pad I have appears to be bonded to the mechanism and there is no apparent access to the heads of the screws to reattach the armrest.
I am currently in contact with Secretlab to see what I and they will do about it. I suspect it will mean replacement of the entire arm, less the mounting plate to the bottom of the chair.

One thing you didn't mention is the packaging... "Luxury" packaging costs money, which is then passed along to the consumer. Do I really need a 2.75x3' color printed, laminated assembly guide that I'll use once, then throw right in the garbage? Except that that garbage man ain't gonna haul that away, I'll have to pack this up in the Sandmobile and cart it to the office on Tuesday and chuck it all in their dumpster. What fun!
Seriously though, I don't mind paying a premium price for a premium product that will purportedly last me for years - but the packaging alone has got to cost at least $20 in materials, not including the labor, call it $60 after end-user markup. It makes no difference to me what it ships in, and provided it gets in here intact, and just as soon forgo the fancy wrapping (that will be discarded anyway).
    Just my two cents.🐽

I bought Omega chair a year ago, I'm 165cm (5,4 feet), 60kg. I used to use my ex boyfriends chair when at his place which was bigger one, titan. His chair was super comfortable so I bought mine. And I'm super disappointed, chair is stiff, and doesn't put my back in the right position. My back and neck hurt. I keep on throwing away and trying to use again the pillows and it's not helping. The one for the neck is way too stiff, and too big, It doesn't give support, just pushes my head away from the chair. The other is better but without the neck one doesn't make sense to use it. Finally, I use the lumbar one with my private travelling pillow for neck.
Also, worth to mention, putting this chair together was a nightmare and I cried when doing it. My dad had to do it for me and even for him it was hard. I would have bought their plushie or travel pillow but a) I shouldn't need it in the first place b) price is way too high. In polish zł I paid for this chair 2000zł, my net salary is 3900... So I worked for two weeks to buy a chair that makes my back hurt anyway lol. Next time I'll just buy a chair at ikea it will probably be more comfortable judging from how comfortable their strandmon is for example.

SL is secretly bad. I bought a regular SL PU chair in late 2018 and have had nothing but problems with it. The spring mechanism that returns the chair from recline just flat out broke on day 2, and have had to manually assist it. One of the bolts that mounts the chair frame to the seat snapped in half. The arm rests deteriorated around the edges. The PU leather started flaking and peeling after the first year. The lumbar adjustment max setting is equivalent to adding a thin blanket behind your lower back. The seat cushion was too firm, like sitting on wood, and still is after 4 years. The seat height was too high. I'm 6' and even at the lowest setting, my feet don't touch the ground during a slight recline, which causes circulation issues. (I assume this is why the new 2022 models were lowered). These are all common failures and complaints I've seen on many forums.
Someone might ask, well why didn't you just return it? Good question, and that leads to their Customer service and warranty. I don't know what their policy is now, but in 2018 they had a no return, no money back policy. Purchasing was an act of faith, based on their reviews. They did warranty their chair from defects, but dealing with their warranty claims is like playing a game of email ping pong against a pro that has nothing better to do. Eventually you write the whole thing off as a $400 loss.
Speaking of reviews...don't believe the hype! After purchasing the chair they spammed me with emails, asking for a review and promising discounts or credit towards future SL products. By this time I had enough of their BS and so I left an honest review, 2/5 stars listing all the complaints almost verbatim to the above. By the end of the day, the comment was removed from their website. Later I found an advertisement on Facebook and I wrote the same exact review in the comments section, again they removed it. I'm 100% convinced that the reason they have such great reviews is because they cherry pick and remove bad reviews. That's not to say that people don't enjoy their chairs, I'm sure there are some that do, but the overall picture of customer satisfaction is a fabricated lie. Oh, and they never gave me the store credit for the review.
Since then, I've had opportunities to try some high end chairs like Herman Miller embody and Steelcase Leap V2. I ended up pulling the trigger on the Steelcase and have never been happier. As TATV points out, these are 4X the cost of a SL chair. They also come with lifetime warranties and their customer service actually cares. I know it's not an option for everyone, but I look at it as a long term investment, for both your equipment and your health, versus a short term investment of $400 that you have to keep paying out every 2 years. TATV is right in their review, that these are hybrid chairs, more for show than they are ergonomics, comfort, durability and customer care.
Hopes this helps someone in their decision process, or maybe confirms someone else's experience.

Some of my notes after having one (without too much explanation):
    1) assembly is not that easy (not hard either)
    2) one of the worst armrests on the market - literally everything about them
    3) lumbar support is so hard, it actually hurts my back more; also it is too high; it should be called "high back" support, not "low back" support; probably that's why Secretlab are selling a separate low back support :)
    4) seat is super hard
    5) the chair is very heavy and doesn't roll around easy, so if you move a lot - sorryyyy :/

I have a question about the lumbar support on the XL and the regular model and it's possibility to adjust it. 🙂
I am relatively tall (6'4 / 193 cm), I could easily take the Titan Evo XL, but I would prefer the "regular", because I have very narrow shoulders and the armrests on the XL are too far apart for me.
    I measured.
How far up can the lumbar support be raised on the regular in comparison to the XL?
How many inches / cm can I raise to lumbar support higher on the XL, compared to the regular?
Do you understand what I mean?
I would appreciate a qualified answer.

IMPORTANT FOR ALERGICS AND ASTMATICS !!! I ordered the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 in Softweave design and size XL. I won't discuss the quality of the chair itself in my post, but there is one important fact that may surprise many people. After assembling it, I noticed that the chair smells a bit new, which is nothing untraditional. Unfortunately, after a day of sitting in a room that I often ventilate, I found myself dizzy, with a very congealed neck and difficulty breathing. When it was repeated the next day, it was clear that it was from the fumes from the chair. I don't treat for allergies and asthma, but I'm generally bothered by synthetic aromas from fabric softeners. In the morning after entering the room, the smell was really enormous, so I let the chair air out on the balcony overnight. Even after 14 days, unfortunately, I didn't air it out, but the smell subsided a bit. So I tried to test it again, but after three days of work, it made me so sick that I was literally hallucinating. Like quite desperate when you buy a $16,000 chair and can't sit on it. The next week, it was windy outside, so I sat at home with the window open on both sides, and I could do that. Anyway, for the night, I still leave the chair outside. Now, after about 6 weeks, it looks like the fabrics have aired out a lot, but I prefer to ventilate constantly during the day.
So that's my story. Whether the volatile substances are released from the upholstery, foam or some kind of glue, I have no idea. Even the pillow itself smells, and there shouldn't be glue. What's insidious is that it's actually not a particularly strong smell, but after a few hours in an unventilated room, it will probably be a strong attack on the organism, quite fatal for some allergy sufferers.
Although many of you may not be allergic to the volatile substance, it can still be harmful in the long term. I remember the first Chinese cars that were imported into Europe, and it smelled like hell before they learned to use more economical chemistry.
So I recommend to everyone, if they have the option, to let the chair air out in the long term, which in my experience is at least 6 weeks. If you sleep in the room, then think twice. Although nothing may happen, the immunity definitely gets kicked, which can manifest itself elsewhere.
A note outside my "junkie" problem. I considered for a long time whether to take L or XL, because I have 186cm/82kg, I fit into both categories. Because I was afraid it would be too small for me, so I took a bigger one. Unfortunately, I couldn't test it anywhere. Anyway, XL seems too much for my parameters. Even though I have the chair at the bottom, I can barely reach the ground. The seat cushion is large/long and it puts a little pressure under my knees on my calves. I put the armrests close together from the bottom of the chair and even at the top I have them in the narrowest position ... and they are still quite far away. The magnetic cushion is an interesting gadget, but for my taste it has a small range and I don't like either of the extreme positions. I often bump into it and it falls off completely. It would be ideal to combine it with rubber, which I will probably do by self-production eventually. So it follows that the size L would be better for my parameters, but I'm just guessing, because I haven't tested it. So perhaps my observations will help someone. In general I want to say that the chair is festive, the materials are decent and I fit very well, except for the dimensions. I really appreciate the hardness of the chair, ergonomically excellent for me. If you're used to soft, it might bother you, but for long sessions it's medically ideal. I personally have a chair to work on, so I can hold it for 6 to 8 hours. I won't evaluate the rocking mechanism, I don't use it much, but I think it's just right for my 82kg at maximum resistance, which implies that the larger weights will probably be disappointed.

My 2018 Secret Labs Omega is by far the best $300 i've spent in a while. After years of using it it is still just as comfortible and has no tears or fading. The quality is top notch but I dont know if mine was made in a different era of the company or not. Dark Grey that came with head/lumbar pillow(i use my own pillow for upright support). Assembly is somwhat challenging (esp. if you have 1 arm and leg like me XD) but once its assembled, laying down all the way back spinning around was such an amazing feeling.

I remember my teenager years / 20's - I could sit/sleep anywhere, in any position and not care. Consider it a caution that when you get older - this will not be the case.
Considering how much time you spend sitting in that chair gaming, watching tv/movies, doing homework / work; why sit in a $50 busted chair with a spare pillow on it because the foam died years ago, or some fold out wooden chair from a thrift store?

I got the Arozzi Primo Woven Fabric gaming chair.
Arozzi Primo also have built in lumbar support.
And it's built very similar to secret lab's Titan 2020 model.
Arozzi is a Swedish company and I believe Secret lab is a Singapore company.
But a good office chair has more settings and better ergonomy.
So truth is that even secret lab and Arozzi can not compare to good office chairs.
    But they are closer.

    I have a 2020 version, that i have been using since mid-ish 2022.
    Pros:
I am a very large person (6’6 and 240lb) so I tend to wear down the hydraulic thing pretty fast, so having one made specifically for someone like me is very nice, although it does cost a bit more.
Soft weave is much nicer than all the “fake” leather materials I have tried.
A lot more customizable than other budget chairs I’ve used.
    Cons:
Price of course, I bought mine on sale and the price was still twice that of the second most expensive one.
Very heavy, so when I just moved last month it was a pain to deal with lol.
Overall I would say it has been worth it for me, as I can easily see myself still using this chair in 3-5 years, so by then I would have probably paid the same for that one chair as I would have buying 3 chairs in total over the secret labs chairs lifespan.

I'm replacing my 2020 as we speak. Absolutely not going Secretlab again. I've had 3 warranty claims, and if I stuck with this one, I'd have to do another replacement on both armrests. The carbon fiber looking strip on the seat has broken and chipped. The leather is worn. This chair has been a piece of crap from a durability standpoint.

I tested a secret lab chair, idk what one it was but it felt very hard and stiff. I rather have a more to the softer side then to stiff. So would you recomend a 2022 but maybe medium size or the 2020? Id be happy for a reply.

I just received a Secretlab Titan EVON Titan Leatherette in Black.
The box was well padded, instructions were very clear, but what these reviews don’t mention is the formaldehyde like smell from the chair materials. I’m currently airing it out and hopefully the strong nauseating smell will disappear. Overall, the materials are sturdy, good framing, but the lumbar support looks lame. I’ll have to try it out for at least a week or two to determine if it justifies the $580 price tag. Good luck

Gaming chairs are a complete waste of money and it's no surprise at all why people buy it, because 99% of ppl have never used high end office chairs long term.
It's easy to rebuke high end office chairs because of their non-gamer aesthetics and high price, but unlike racing seats those chairs are designed by ergonomic experts.
I used to think Herman Miller chairs were overpriced and gimmicky, that was until I sat in the Mirra 2 and I learned just how wrong I was.
