First of all, I was very happy with how fast this item was delivered. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxYR69rUVDfF56JHQRldV2uJeXaPA9LTZW It came a day before the listed delivery date, which was super great! I was able to assemble it myself with no difficult and I am not an engineer or a put-it-together expert. The chair is super comfortable, I play video games for roughly 3-4 hours at a time and it does not make my back hurt or neck hurt. The Reclining function actually surprised me because it goes very low, you could fall asleep on it ( and in fact i have while laying on it with a foot rest for my legs). The red is a bold choice and I usually stay away but I love how the red and black contrast looks on this type of material. The wheels on this chair are very very quiet, I have wood vinyl in my apartment and there is absolutely no noise. OVERALL, I WOULD RECOMMEND or BUY IT AGAIN !
So glad I found this video. I'm checking on different websites trying to find a gaming chair and it's hard to tell which one's better than the other and which one I should choose, considering things like my budget, the reviews people post and the fact that it will be my first gaming chair ever. I'm sure this will help me. I might make an assembling video giving suggestions, if anything I'll make sure to give you credits. Thanks. 😊👍
great technical points made thanks for the clarity. the concept of metals, aluminium actually being really strong, graphite usage and keeping the dollar spent parallel to your weight are all great highlights.
that whole weight thing makes so much sense now. i have always bought chairs in the 100-150 range. not gaming Just chairs. and three of them all have broken . I am 220 . Recently took the plunge and got the secret labs titan. I can instantly tell this thing is built like a tank. i wish I thought about this ages ago.

The cold cure foam is hard for a reason and that is to 1. last longer under load & 2. give better support. The company claims it will get softer after awhile but don't expect it to be like couch sitting. A possible reason for your neck and back pain is the posture correction process your body is going through. This will pass. Also I find that when u want to sit up straight and game/work. I own a GT racing chair. In fact mine is also red. It's identical to the one in this video. It's ok. Nothing to write home about. The only difference I see between mine and the one in this video is that mine has a fold out foot rest that hides away under the seat. My chair doesn't make any noise at all. My arm rests only adjust up and down. My lumbar pillow/cushion has a build in vibrator & heat. The one thing this guy doesn't mention is the biggest problem of all with these chairs. That problem is tipping over backwards. They are NOT balanced correctly!! So watch out you don't tip over on your head when reclined.
You missed companies like Dowinx: they use a foam for the seat but also they have pocketed springs to aid in the comfort and spring hold up a ton longer than just foam.
Sadly our hobby has been hijacked by predatory marketing (as everything). Sadly anything marked "gaming" is usually junk. Personally after the RapidX chair I bought I'll be going with a ergo office chair or perhaps sell a kidney and get the MonsterTech Flight Sim chair.... Great video!!

Well after researching (mattresses was where I learned this). Memory foam comes in different densities! You can have low density memory foam, medium or high density foam! The thing is, we have no freaking way of knowing what the hell its really made of AKA how long it will last us. All we can do is hope to get lucky by the 3rd gaming chair we buy to find a solid brand. One tip...if you're in the $179 to $249 range...start with the base material. Look for the base/legs to be made from metal like steel, aluminum or reinforced nylon at the least. Then, one piece steel frames. If they have those two...its likely their claim of high density foam will be real.
Dude...in the 2 weeks I've slaved over probably 30 brands of chair dimensions, features and reviews, I never knew about the different foams. Seems it's well worth it if you can afford the cold cured cos it'll last much longer. If not, you gotta go with high density. Knew my mind to find there are chairs in the $199 range that use high density foam AND have steel bases.
1:23 ... _steel which has a density that's three times that of Nylon._ Steel of course is far more dense than Nylon, about 7 times as dense. Really informative, I was checking out some gaming chairs because they look more comfortable than the office desk chairs I've seen, I just need something that would feel comfortable when sitting down for hours
I was considering the secret lab titan and the chairs from herman miller. I'm the type of guy who buys everything i'm considering between (especially for long lasting items) and then keep the one I like based on my actual use and sell off the rest. All I can say is, the HM Aeron is far superior in every possible way to the "gaming chair". It's not even a contest. But it also was about 3 times the price. It's weird because I don't feel like I overpaid for the Aeron, but I felt like I overpaid for the Secret Lab Titan.
@@moltenbullet Because the Aeron looks, feels and is built like the price you paid for. You also get a 12 year warranty that covers any issue that might come up. Hell the used Aeron's at the 500 mark are better than a gaming chair.
This is more about comfort being mentioned as quality overall. I had a sub $200 chair and it fell apart. First the GAS Cylinder after not even a fee months failed and I did buy a replacement for it, next the cheap thin metal bottom showed its true colors, poor weldment. It happens that I know what a good weld is, this was not even close to it so I ended up tossing the chair. While it was worthless I took it apart, made also pictures and found that the wooden base of the seat had mold, yikes. I am an plus average tall guy so over six two so did order the third more expensive chair you showed. I know quality when I see it and I should have listened to my inner voice. Like you pointed out the 5-star base gives away the quality, it is as you mentioned in your video... Mind you the customer support of this vendor was excellent, of course I had documented everything with pics and videos, not very flattering for vendor, they did refunded me the money after 9 months of use so kudos there. The High-end 'expensive-err' chairs seem to be popular and with the " Covid-19 " there are a lot of delays with shipping but that is a different topic Thanks for the video but it would it would (in my case) also be a point to mention the quality of materials used. Cheap, thin steel, poor weld versus thicker steel and other quality Frame-style , the bases for tilting system, is the only thing I missed in your video with a close-up and or snap shots of the inner of the chairs. And you were how many years into Gaming chairs ?
i honestly love my gtracing chair lmao got it for 120. i’ve been sleeping a lot better after my sessions on the computer coming from another stupid ass chair with like no support.
I bought a gaming chair for £146 it's got a metal base, 4d arm rest and can tilt back far it does have a show off brand name printed on it but it's crazy good for the price
If an XL chair is identical to the regular sized chair, just scaled up, but thicker structure for an extra 100-150lbs capacity, and the price difference is way outta proportion, I could see that as discriminatory. But unfortunately, economy of scale doesn't work that way. And they have to factor in stronger/more durable materials for dynamic weight (shifting your body around).
Love the video man. I'm a taller guy and yes to have good comfort you have to go $400 and up. You will regret in the long run going cheap. always regret going cheap
all these reviews always miss the gas lift section under the seat, ive had numerous seats from office to gaming in 18 monthsand they have all broke on the welding on the bracket were the gas lift inserts into, brought a updated version and never with v shaped bracket and not had a problem, i'm 6 ft 1 and about 15 stone, paid £150 from currys pc world for an adx gaming chair, love it, best chair I've purchased.
Will say. Don't buy one from staples. You'll need a new one in less than a year. But, I will say one good thing about it. Is that the arm rests can be folded up.
You miss 1 important point, the frame below the seat, that is the part that always broken and can't be fix unless you have a welding machine, even you can fix it your foam is gone or not in original shape anymore, i broken 4 cheap gaming chair, it hard to look at the metal because the foam have block what you want to see, The welding and how thick the frame, now i choose branded and award winning chair, like SecretLab
just get an ergo chair, most "gaming" branded products are just dumb in general. besides looking cool they mostly provide nothing more that will actually benefit for the end-user
I'm a bigger guy and I fought the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on a "gaming" chair for quite a while. During that time I purchased numerous inexpensive/cheaper options, only for them all to be rickety and unreliable junk, especially for many of their price points. About a year and a half ago I finally caved and ordered a Secret Lab Titan XL 2020 and I cannot express just how invaluable that extra couple hundred dollars has been. It's a night and day difference in all aspects. As they say... Buy cheap, buy twice.
Dude what are you talking about ? I just bought a secret lab chair and that shit is FAR from comfortable! It’s so damn stiff, Instantly regretted buying it. Bought it for my gf and if she doesn’t like it I’ll return it. I have a 150 dollar emerge chair I bought from staples and it’s night and day difference from secret lab.
@@avdo005 Well, I'm talking about my opinion based on my experience, which just so happens to be the general consensus. You're obviously talking about your experience, which is fine... No need to question someone else's opinion It's perfectly ok to have your own. I've had my Titan XL for just about 2 years at this point... I'm sitting in it right now and it's still the best all around computer chair I've ever owned.
Thanks for this video work. You come across as very knowledgeable and learned. I didn't hear any comments about padded armrests - and I'm not seeing them as an option much. I'm a programmer and my executive chair (low cost) has worn out too fast just as you describe (squeaky, foam got flat over time etc). I'm trying to find that ideal answer - again, thanks.
Thanks! Most armrests are made of either plastic or polyurethane. The later is softer, but basically still feels like hardened rubber. You can always just get a separate armrest pad that goes on top of the armrests for added comfort: ergonomictrends.com/best-desk-armrests-and-elbow-pads/
I acknowledge the fact that it is comfortable but if you're sitting for long hours I don't recommend you to buy this since it doesn't absorb sweat and it gets heated quickly. This is a clear disadvantage of leather.
Glad i found this video. we just ordered my gf a secret labs titan chair. and next month i will order mine. with being 6'6 300 bills i need a comfy chair for big guys. i got a z line design chair on sale last year at Nebraska furniture mart more my office. while more comfy than the office chair work provided it is still not made for big people and the arm coverings keep pealing off. so build design is sub par . had i seen this review last year it would have saved me 200 dollars.
Long term review of the GT Racer series R here. Don't buy the R. The padding near my hips degraded and the metal frame digs into my hips. Now I sit on a pillow on my expensive chair and it isn't as good.
I got the AKRacing 300 dollar chair on offerup for 50 dollars. perfectly working condition, with some cat hair, honestly i would really recommend it if yall dont have the money to spend.
I had a DXRacer Gaming chair lasted me just over 5 years. The thing that broke was the tilt control. The chair couldn't hold its position anymore. It just tilted side to side back and forth. But the up and down still worked, the back tilt still worked, all the upholstery was rip free, the cushions are still comfortable. But I had no way of fixing that tilt problem. So the whole chair ended up broken. And the seller no longer operates in Canada. So no way to get replacement parts.
Thank you for the review. I need to search further as I do not want a chair with that bonded leather, or whatever leather that decides to start disintegrating over time and getting everywhere. It's a mess!
I gave up on this... that cheat PU is on nearly all of them, and definitely impossible not to find on the cheap ones. I just don't understand why! So frustrating. Anyway, in the end, I've ordered a lower-end one (all I can afford) and I've bought a car seat cover to put over it! The car seat cover won't look fabulous, but I have a limited budget. And cats.
Oh yeah for sure. The other way can occasionally be true too - a budget chair that is high quality. I'm about to review one that fits that bill next :)
Well that's an easy assessment for me. I'm light. I don't stream so creakiness doesn't matter to me. I remove armrests completely because of my peripherals. No reason to go over $200 on a chair.
I have the GTR racing chair which cost me $150 on sale (usually $200) and honestly it feels perfect for me. But then again I’m lightweight at 5’8 116 pounds.
what should I look for in a gaming chair if I want to reduce the sound of my tactile transducer hooked up to it? kind of annoying that I can hear the bass instead of just feeling it
I am 6.0 tall and weigh about 135-140 , bought a chair for 150 , only the fake leather peels off which is annoying , it starts to give color to lighter clothes.
Hello Sir! Appreciate your video, i found it very direct and honest. Could you please compare KILLABEE 8204 and KCREAM 8515- Red. Is Killabee worth 50$ more considering the steel base? Thank you!
For those in the comments; if you can afford a secretlab titan chair i'd highly recommend. Im 6ft and just shy of 300lbs, and the secretlab TitanXL has been so amazing. Its very heavy, and the material is super top knotch. Customer service is above and beyond, and they offer many things after purchases; for example they extended my 3 year warranty to 5 years - just for posting a picture of it online and after I purchased the magnus desk from secretlab, they emailed me offering free desk bumpers for my desk! Just wanted to leave my opinion and thoughts for those in the comments who are looking for a new chair ; and/or a big person.
i owned the inland mach which i got because i thought it'd be better than the gt racing on amazon, only to find they seem to be made at the same plant just branded differently. the wings on the seat dig into my legs n it hurts after sitting longer than 30 or 40 minutes. on the plus side it has a 5 year warranty. but i had to add a cushion
For me it's always about the budget you have, of course 90% of the time the more expensive one is better than the cheaper one. But why force yourself to buy an expensive thing if it's really out of your budget.
if the chair doesn't fit in your budget, i'd rather get a 100$ office chair that does its work than a 140$ gaming chair that breaks after a few months and destroy your spine
@@mitchmcturtle6890 lmao I have a gaming chair, i just doesn't have a cheap one. You are the one that should do a research, office chairs, especially when they are around 100$, are healthier and stronger than a cheap gaming chair
Dont buy any type of racing gaming chairs. Proper office chairs cost the same when used and they are much more durable. I bought mine used 10 years ago and it still works like a charm.
The GTRacing is total crap. Mine didn't last two years. I had to get them to send replacement parts twice. The back rest part is not welded very well at all. Both broke. The hydraulic made it about 8 months.
Ah good thing we’re addressing the maneuverability of the chairs cause I wanted to take my chair to the nearest supermarket. So the metal base just won’t cut it for me. I need extreme maneuvering capability to zig zag tightly around those old people.
Thanks! I don't know how many you've had the chance to try, but I'm looking for recommendations for chairs under $200 for an average body type. I've been looking at the Respawn brand. Definitely not committed exclusively to the "racing style" chairs.
For under the $200 range, the gtracing and homall chairs are as good as they get. They're not the greatest but for average body size should last a good while. Also see our guide here: ergonomictrends.com/best-ergonomic-gaming-chairs-under-200/
Suggest eventually getting an ergonomic office chair. Gaming chairs are kind of the cancer to the chair industry basically destroying posture for looks.

Buy a mesh offic chair with adjustable head rest, tilt, back/lumbar support it’s much more comfortable
A lot of the price difference is related to size and weight tolerance
Save your money, i have bought many of these chairs and they are uncomfortable and overpriced, they also easily break
I wish my room was big enough for a couch but gaming chair is the closest thing I can get
@@tonystark559 no a Office Chair is much much Better.
@@duderobi I bought a cheap chair on amazon lol it's really good
@@tonystark559 how much ?
@@jesusfierro6355 160 I think it's got a leg rest. But when I get a job ill invest in a quality one right now I need to go cheap lol
I have the clasic red genesis nitro 330, no fancy tricks but you can lean back a bit, but the best thing you don't sweat like a pig in it on summer
The High-end 'expensive-err' chairs seem to be popular and with the " Covid-19 " there are a lot of delays with shipping but that is a different topic
Thanks for the video but it would it would (in my case) also be a point to mention the quality of materials used.
This channel is massively underrated. You're so thorough with your reviews! Much appreciated.
Thanks so much for the encouragement!
"gaming" chair is a scam market just get a good office chair
I bought a gaming chair for £146 it's got a metal base, 4d arm rest and can tilt back far it does have a show off brand name printed on it but it's crazy good for the price
@Bashiro tbh it doesn't say the brand in the chair but id recommend and ergonomic chair
It seems discrimitory that chair making companies make it so heavy people have to spend more to be comfortable.
I got a GTRACING chair for about $175, and it's quieter than the one you got for $300.
Thank you for this video, man. I’m a bigger guy and I’ve always been a little weary of purchasing a gaming chair, but I think I definitely will now.
Lmao my desk from staples got random bolts falling out on the daily😭
You miss 1 important point, the frame below the seat, that is the part that always broken and can't be fix unless you have a welding machine, even you can fix it your foam is gone or not in original shape anymore, i broken 4 cheap gaming chair, it hard to look at the metal because the foam have block what you want to see, The welding and how thick the frame, now i choose branded and award winning chair, like SecretLab
just get an ergo chair, most "gaming" branded products are just dumb in general. besides looking cool they mostly provide nothing more that will actually benefit for the end-user
Komene Mesh Office Chair is better than the ergo tbh more comfy
@@searrell The Komene *is* an ergo chair, so I don't understand why you say it's better than an ergo chair?
@@STR33TSofJUST1C3 ergo chair is a brand off chairs and ergonomic chairs are a type of chairs there's a difference my guy
@@searrell Oh, you were referring to the Autonomous Ergochair?

This is so helpful! Thank you for sharing!
helpful video thanks! you could also buy a plush seat cushion, and it'll still be cheaper than a high end chair
I'm sitting in it right now and it's still the best all around computer chair I've ever owned.
just bought a secretlab titan! super excited to get that
Some people buy racing car seats and adapt them instead.
Thumbs up bro,, I totally agree with you especially regarding the weight point
Just reviewed the secretlab Titan here: ergonomictrends.com/secretlabs-titan-gaming-chair-review/ it's a superb chair
@@ergonomictrends8446 what about the respawn 110 vs the Gt
Thanks a lot for the explanation. Now I know what to choose
I ❤️ the anda seat its easily the best chair I've bought for my high an size almost 6ft 4.
Best video I have seen on gaming chairs, thank you.
Couldn't I oil the cheaper chair to prevent squeaking?
I have the Andaseat Dark Demon that's very similar to the Andaseat chair in your video.
the chair only needs to support a human sitting down and standing up, not a wild rhino, what we need reinforced graphite bases for?
LMAO man said wild rhino haha
Long term review of the GT Racer series R here. Don't buy the R. The padding near my hips degraded and the metal frame digs into my hips. Now I sit on a pillow on my expensive chair and it isn't as good.
This was super helpful! Thanks!
I got the AKRacing 300 dollar chair on offerup for 50 dollars. perfectly working condition, with some cat hair, honestly i would really recommend it if yall dont have the money to spend.
i have a gaming chair here which doesn't have any 5 star base but its just pure steels and some spring.
5 years is a good life span
Really good video. Short, informative and to the point. Thanks for the info!
And cats.
Great video I needed this but keep in mind sometimes chairs are expensive and still use junk
Oh yeah for sure. The other way can occasionally be true too - a budget chair that is high quality. I'm about to review one that fits that bill next :)
@@ergonomictrends8446 at that point, better to look for actual "office chairs" function first, fashion later.
Thank you!
I unlocked a new fear a couple of weeks ago, gas spring chairs that can explode and kill you, don’t know what to buy now.

Great video, straight to the point.
Nice review, thanks. What would be the Rolls Royce of gaming chairs?
Dx racer and secret lab imo
Thank you this was very helpful!

Hey I got a gtracung chair for 60 bucks, I made off well. I got it last night and put it together.

Sweet video man thanks.
