Hey there. Great review. I’m torn between this exact chair or the anda seat XL. I’m 6’ 3 and 250lbs. And these chairs are pricey so I want to make the best purchase I can. Please help. Anyone in the comments too feel free to answer
That metal-on-metal scraping noise indicates there’s something wrong with the ring bearing at the base of the chair. Basically, your chair has a broken part.
I just received a Secretlab Titan EVON Titan Leatherette in Black. The box was well padded, instructions were very clear, but what these reviews don’t mention is the formaldehyde like smell from the chair materials. I’m currently airing it out and hopefully the strong nauseating smell will disappear. Overall, the materials are sturdy, good framing, but the lumbar support looks lame. I’ll have to try it out for at least a week or two to determine if it justifies the $580 price tag. Good luck
Hi m c21! Now that you mentioned it, yes, the formaldehyde smell is indeed very strong. Though on the bright side, it means your chair was recently fresh of the assembly line >
With your dimensions, if you were to buy an armchair now, would you choose the Regular model or would you stay with the XL? I am asking because my dimensions are similar to yours and the weight is around 85 kg and I have to decide which one to choose. Have you tried to advertise loud operation of the chair mechanism under warranty?
Update for anyone wondering the same thing: Just upgraded to the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 Softweave and it is miles ahead of the Razer Iskur in terms of comfortability, breathability, sizing fit and looks. Highly recommended.
Hi Jackson! If I didn’t own one before, I would get this but in the PU leather version because of its ease to maintain and clean. But after having used both, I will chose the fabric version because of the comfort and staying slightly cooler when it’s hot. Hope this helps ^^
I usually turned on my AC whenever I’m gaming, should I buy softweave plus or the hybrid leatherrette? also which of the chair sizes allows you to sit cross legged?
Hi NinjaDarkovia! If you have the AC on, then the hybrid leatherette would be fine. As for sitting different positions, you can take a look at my Secretlab Titan Buying Guide video to compare the measurements and sitting positions. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/dUxfqn8DD8o/видео.html
@@GamersClinic cool, will definitely take a look on that! I heard for softweave, it’s harder or almost impossible to get rid of the stains? is that true?

I have the chair is too stiff for the backrest. Any suggestion? I did find the seat too stiff at first but after breaking it in, the seat became really comfy. Just the backrest. Does it just have a longer break-in period?
Hi Ivan! I didn't have any issues with the backrest (lumbar support) as those are just right for my preference. They do become a little bit softer over time, but I hope it doesn't get softer than this as it will no longer be able to provide the back support that I need.
Why doesn't anyone just grease the has lift..... I had the same problem happen to mine, first thing I did was pop some grease on it and move it up and down a few times, spun it around and all good.
Hi As Fedo! I use a thin carpet under my table and chair to protect the floor from getting scuffed up. But judging from my other chair with similar quality wheels (Noblechairs Hero) which she is using as her WFH office, the floor is still fine after almost a year. But just as a precaution, I would recommend a carpet or one of those clear plastic sheets from IKEA >
I just watched 3 other videos and none of those had "Closed caption" turned on... this feature is something I almost always keep OFF... I opened this video, and what do you know: CC was turned ON automatically... Was this set to turn on CC at all tiemes by the channel author?
Hi WhoCares! It's not an option that I know of that could force it to be turned on for viewers. Though, it sometimes turns on itself for me too on my mobile phone too...
Nice video! Do you think a 190cm skinny person would fit in the regular sized chair or do i need to pick the xl also? Am afraid it will be too wide for me
Hi Nigel! Perfect timing ^^ I just got the Size R version today and for my shoulder width and height of 187cm/6.1ft, I have to say the size R provides a slightly better fit. Though the height of the backrest XL version is taller and more comfortable for taking naps as the Size R is about 2 cms short. If you don't want the backrest feeling too wide, then I would say get the R. However, I also want to point out that on the Size R, the seat base is also shorter at about 50cms, so that is something to keep in mind as when you are sitting slouched in the chair, you "might" feel like there is not enough room for your buttocks >.
@@GamersClinic thanks alot for your answer, so the R size the backrest would easily be high enough being 190cm. I dont worry about the width that much since i’m very slim i was just worried that it wouldnt be tall enough forme
idk if you're still replying to comments on this vid but hows the chair holding up? I'm 5'9" and 280lbs so I'm considering getting this exact chair, have a dxracer now but its old and getting uncomfortable, it's also a bit restrictive with leg room so I'm thinking this XL chair would be perfect. I'm mostly just worried about the cushion wearing out, the chair I have now is pretty worn out after a few years.
Hi Texan! Mine is stlll holding up pretty well a little over a year now. Cushion is a tad-bit softer compared to when brand new, but it's still holding up well. Though personally, I think it is still a little too early to judge how long this chair will last in the long run (4-5 years), but I think with proper care, it should hold up 4-5 years without any major issues. With your weight and height, it should be no problem for the XL, and if you prefer having more room to shuffle around while seated, the XL will do great as it is a lot more roomy compared to my first DX Racer chair too 😉
@@GamersClinic Awesome, thanks for the reply, unfortunately I'm still on the fence, I see alot of hate for these chairs and alot of love for them and it's kinda odd. However I do like this dxracer chair so I'd imagine I'd like a secretlabs.
@@sks220 Glad that I could help. Take your time as this is not a cheap purchase. But no matter which one you choose, as long as you like it and satisfied with it, no need to worry about what others are saying; as long as the product is not defective or faulty to begin with 😆
@@GamersClinic Hey I got one more question for you and it's about the frame of the chair. The raised portions on the seat next to your thighs, do they have a metal frame in them or is it cushioned there too? One annoying thing about my dxracer is the raised portions have a metal frame and I'm not a fan of it.
@@sks220 I totally understand what you mean lol. Good news is the raised portions of the 2022 Titan Evo are soft without metal frames inside so you can place your legs or feet on them and they will not hurt ^^
Hey mate, I am not sure if you are still replying to comments but I was wondering if you would suggest this chair to someone who is 5.7 (172-173 cm), 200 LB (90 kg), shoulders 50cm? Looking at SecretLab's guide I am a perfect fit for the regular, but I often play and work cross-legged and I like having more room. Do you think it will be too big for my height?
Hi Teodor! The regular would fit you a bit tightly, but if you prefer having more room in the chair, I will recommend the XL (which is also the one I stuck with). I have also made another video on the channel where I measured and compared the dimensions and seat height of both XL and Regular side by side, which you can check out here for more specifics. ruclips.net/video/dUxfqn8DD8o/видео.html Hope it helps 😉
Hi Blazing Phoenix! Yes it does. If sitting in a proper posture with back against the backrest, it was still comfortable after 4-5 hours. Though it is not recommended to keep sitting, so maybe every 2-3 hours stand up and walk around a bit ^^
Hi spartankevin1! Sorry for the slow reply, but my lumbar depth is set at max protruding and almost lowest height setting. That's where is hits the spot for me >
Hi Jahmensky! I am not too sure on that. I have measured the dimensions of the chair in the video @5:00 which you could use as an estimate based on your measurements. Ideally, you will want a little wiggle room instead of a tight fit for the best comfort. Though, as the maximum load on the XL is 395lbs, which is the max load that Secretlab tested in their labs, I would not really recommend it as it might affect the longevity of the gas suspension and other parts of the chair. Instead maybe check out FantasyLabs as they design chairs with higher loading weight and larger dimensions for the bigger gamers ^^ Hope this helps >
I’ve heard a lot of things about how the noblechairs hero and secret labs titan evo being hard as a rock. Great to hear your chair’s all good once broken in! Is it the same for the noblechairs hero? I’m thinking of getting the hero since I prefer the flatter seats but if it’s too stiff it’ll just be a pain
From what I've heard is that the noblechairs chairs are very stiff. Once I was sitting on the noblechairs Epic from one of my friends, and even though I prefer to have not too soft chairs, it was too stiff for me (but everyone has different preferences). I am pretty happy with my Titan Evo 2022 so far. It's not perfect, but for me, it's good! Edit: No matter if you choose the noblechairs or the secretlab chair, I would just recommend the textile version over the leather version.
@@Prxsumo hey :) I'm 5'9 (1.75 m) and have the regular. I think this is the best size for my height. So I would probably say that the regular or the small might be the best for you (there is someone who compared both chairs, he's called "Ahnestly"). Btw, because I think it's important to mention: If you have problems to touch the ground with your feet, buy a footrest
Just grab some silicone spray, spray the areas making noises. Let the magical healing spray work its magic for a few seconds...and POOF! Noises and squeaks are gone...
hi, for the distance between the armrests, did the measurements you cited include the width of the armrests as well? or is it solely the distance between the innermost sides of both armrests?
I think you bought a chair that was too big for you I bought the regular size I am 5'8 ish 195 lbs I never had issues with back pain I sit on it for 5-6 hours a day I just got it last week I also don't have issues with noises when I turn my chair but we'll see what happens within a few months
Hi ousio! Yes it is a bit too big for me, but after having switched to the regular size, I kinda missed the extra space for taking naps and sitting improperly hehe. As for the noise, if it becomes a big problem, send Secretlab an email and they will most likely help you resolve the issue or send you a new one ^^
Mine spins on its own. If I have my feet up, the chair starts spinning to one side randomly. Does the same thing when not sitting on the chair too. Most frustrating thing. Wish I didn’t buy.
I think after a year, my brain somehow tuned out the noise 😂 it’s comfort outweighed the noise for me (though I have to admit, at first it did annoy me like crazy)
The noises it makes is concerning, I have a $100 chair from Office Max that like 10 years old and still chugging along, yea can tell it has some wear to it but it not falling apart and doesn't make any noise.
Thank you for putting out this video! I purchased my Secretlab chair back in December and went with the PLU leather. You've gained my subscription! How is your chair holding up? I've been experiencing an issue where my the screws underneath my arm rests and my seat start to become loose after a day or 2 of using it. I wanted to know if all of you had the same issue too!
Hi G! My chair is still holding up quite well in terms of screws staying in, and the only problem I have (so far) is the noise when turning around in the chair. I think as screws falling out and becoming loose should be covered by their warranty as it is part of the chair's "construction". Maybe send their support an email and hopefully they will send you replacement screws/armrest ^^
@@BigBear-- Thank you! I actually applied some but I don't know if I didn't apply enough because it did not stay in. Should I take out my remaining screws and reapply another layer?
@@NintendoNerdKim depending on screw size a drop or two per screw directly on the threads should do it. Make sure you're torqueing them down properly, and that you're not accidently wiping off any of the Locktite before you get them threaded in. If Locktite BLUE doesn't do it, there's always Locktite RED. But be careful with Locktite RED as it requires about 250 LBs of torque to break them loose again once it sets. If its a small screw that you don't think could handle 250+ lbs of torque if you need to remove, you can also apply heat with a blow torch to the screw to loosen the Locktite RED. You could try BLUE again before trying the RED. However if these are screws that you plan on adjusting a lot, or removing for transport often, I would avoid RED. Another less common method is you can try to put one wrap of thread sealing Plumber's Tape on the screw, just make sure you wrap in the correct direction for screwing it back in. If none of these methods work, or you cant get the screws torqued down properly, you might have defective threads or worn them out. In which case you might want to contact Secret Labs support to send you replacement parts. Good luck!
Even on such chairs prople dont sit properly and then complain that it is uncomfortable. Common rest your back on backrest and sit straight then you will feel the difference
I've been looking for some review for this chair, was planning to get one. But now that I hear that it squeeks and makes noises. Well I already have quite comfortable chair that makes noises everytime I get up/sit down so I guess I'll have to stick a while longer until I find something that will be silent, sturdy and comfy.. for YEARS. But I have slight suspicion that in this day and age... where so called "economics" are oiling the gears of industry... might be a fantasy that will never be fulfilled.
Well said ^^ Though the chair's build quality (along with the Noblechair Hero) are both very well built chairs that lasted me until today compared to the chairs I've used from DXRacer and AKracing before. The only issue I've had so far is the squeaky noise, and let's hope it stays at that.😆

You're either fat as hell or built as hell. I'm the same height at 200 pounds and I thought I was big.
Is the seat a foam with a wooden floor and metal support?
Just find out where the noise is coming from and spray a little bit of WD-40 grease on it. I had to do that to my old chair and then it stopped making noises completely.
will a few spritzes of WD-40 fix the squeaking issue?
Hi Keith! I tried spraying from the outside, but it doesn’t work. After searching a bit, it seems like I have to open/take apart the tilt unit and lubricate the inside bits -_-“
@@GamersClinic Did it help or not?
Hey there. Great review. I’m torn between this exact chair or the anda seat XL. I’m 6’ 3 and 250lbs. And these chairs are pricey so I want to make the best purchase I can. Please help. Anyone in the comments too feel free to answer
I have never got any pain from my Aeron Chair.
what you guys thing this chair or the razer iskur
Would you stick with this chair or the Iskur? I have issues with back pain and have been thinking of getting Titan Evo or Iskur
lubricating the chair with some wd40 does not fix the creaking?
i cant decide between the noble hero tx and the titan evo 2022 softwave, anyone had the chance to try both by any chance?
With your dimensions, if you were to buy an armchair now, would you choose the Regular model or would you stay with the XL? I am asking because my dimensions are similar to yours and the weight is around 85 kg and I have to decide which one to choose.
Have you tried to advertise loud operation of the chair mechanism under warranty?
someone else commented that they had the same noise problems and secretlab sent them a new chair. so i believe its covered under warrenty
Is there a way to lower the armrests? I play guitar and would like to lower for that reason
I have a Razer Iskur as well and feel that it is too small for me. In your opinion, would the Titan 2022 be a solid upgrade from the Iskur?
Update for anyone wondering the same thing: Just upgraded to the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 Softweave and it is miles ahead of the Razer Iskur in terms of comfortability, breathability, sizing fit and looks. Highly recommended.
Hi Krit! Sorry for the slow reply, but I also ended up using the Titan Evo 2022 everyday now lol
I've got the leather titan and I can't sit in it for to long my back does be in the bits!
Best review!!
If you didn't own any gaming chair. Would you still get this chair and would it still be in the tweed fabric version?
Hi Jackson! If I didn’t own one before, I would get this but in the PU leather version because of its ease to maintain and clean. But after having used both, I will chose the fabric version because of the comfort and staying slightly cooler when it’s hot. Hope this helps ^^
hello, would you recommend it to a very big and heavy person? If, for example, Oliver Miller asked you, would you say yes or recommend another chair?
@@iAMNinjaDarkovia Depending on the type of stains and if it was rubbed into the fiber. If not, you could clean it, but it will be quite tiresome and time consuming >
Great Review, i was thinking of buying Razer Iskur, Secretlab Evo 2022, Anda Kaiser 3 .. I'm 70kg 174cm which is good? Help me decide
The Beats of the chair companies.
Hi Stardust! That’s one way to put it lol!
@@GamersClinic Lmao, I'm glad someone finally gets it lol.
I am planning to get one of this. What about the floor under the chair? did the wheels leave any marks after being used for so long?
Hi As Fedo! I use a thin carpet under my table and chair to protect the floor from getting scuffed up. But judging from my other chair with similar quality wheels (Noblechairs Hero) which she is using as her WFH office, the floor is still fine after almost a year. But just as a precaution, I would recommend a carpet or one of those clear plastic sheets from IKEA >
great vid!
Hi AG! Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed it and hope you will like the other videos on the channel as well 😀
You can probably use wd40 to make the chair stop squeaking. All things that moves mechanically needs new lubricant over time
Literally can't believe this is the only post saying this...
@@joeyperrucci1360 ikr WD40 is a life saver - Couldn't recommend it more.

Hello bro, better this one or razer iskur ?
Oralxeat 800 XL ou Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 ?
im very big im 400lbs i dont know if ill fit or if the sides will make it so its 2 tight
How does this compare to the Anda Kaiser 3 XL? I know the Anda is a bit cheaper (and imo looks nicer)
At what height do you use your chair? I am also 6'2" and I find even the lowest setting a little too high for me. Thanks!
Hi Greymane! Normally I use my chair at around 47.5cm (18.7 inches) measured from the floor as my table is about 80cms.
@@GamersClinic Thank you for the prompt reply and also detailed description :)
Btw this noise that chzir is making because is out of that oily thing on moving parts so just go and get some WD-40
Do I need to install the arm rest? I'm pretty wide and I don't want them digging into me
The chairs wide it won’t dig into you
I honestly just put WD40 on the base and my squeaking stopped and hasn’t returned it’s been a few months now as well

I have also made another video on the channel where I measured and compared the dimensions and seat height of both XL and Regular side by side, which you can check out here for more specifics.
ruclips.net/video/dUxfqn8DD8o/видео.html
Hope it helps 😉
Does it still feel comfortable to sit in even after sitting in it for hours?
Hi Blazing Phoenix! Yes it does. If sitting in a proper posture with back against the backrest, it was still comfortable after 4-5 hours. Though it is not recommended to keep sitting, so maybe every 2-3 hours stand up and walk around a bit ^^
Hi I was wondering what your lumbar height and lumbar depht is set at? And also great vid as well!
Hi spartankevin1! Sorry for the slow reply, but my lumbar depth is set at max protruding and almost lowest height setting. That's where is hits the spot for me >
Hey im 400lbs 6’2ft i was wondering if you think the XL would be too small for me ! For shoulder and leg space !! ???
Too big
@@BrotkastedichSeIbst hey what size did you get I'm 5'6 would the xl be to big
@@Prxsumo hey :) I'm 5'9 (1.75 m) and have the regular. I think this is the best size for my height. So I would probably say that the regular or the small might be the best for you (there is someone who compared both chairs, he's called "Ahnestly").
Btw, because I think it's important to mention: If you have problems to touch the ground with your feet, buy a footrest
@@BrotkastedichSeIbst why do you recommend textile over the leather?
I ended up RMA my hero, was 2 hard and I'm like 100kg.
Just grab some silicone spray, spray the areas making noises. Let the magical healing spray work its magic for a few seconds...and POOF! Noises and squeaks are gone...
Which one did you like more? Secretlab or Noblechairs?
Hi Nuno! The Secretlab for comfort, but Noblechairs for their "annoyance-free" quality and durability
how much weight dose it holds up.
For the XL version, it could support up to 180kgs (395 lbs). Small and regular size up to 130 kgs (285 lbs)
hi, for the distance between the armrests, did the measurements you cited include the width of the armrests as well? or is it solely the distance between the innermost sides of both armrests?
Sir what is the width of your shoulders?
A nearly 600 bucks chair, that creaks loudly.
And you like it...
I think after a year, my brain somehow tuned out the noise 😂 it’s comfort outweighed the noise for me (though I have to admit, at first it did annoy me like crazy)
Wd40 and it's fixed not a big deal.
The noises it makes is concerning, I have a $100 chair from Office Max that like 10 years old and still chugging along, yea can tell it has some wear to it but it not falling apart and doesn't make any noise.

Why are you sweating so much?
I think I just washed my hands or washed something before shooting that footage 😅
Just take them out and apply some Locktite BLUE to the screw threads, you'll be fine...
Good luck!
@@BigBear-- the inner mechanic in me (car guy here) screamed in my head "LOCTITE THAT HOE!!" lol

Well said ^^
Though the chair's build quality (along with the Noblechair Hero) are both very well built chairs that lasted me until today compared to the chairs I've used from DXRacer and AKracing before. The only issue I've had so far is the squeaky noise, and let's hope it stays at that.😆
