    Update:
It's been over 30 days and Secretlab has yet to deliver to me the "barrier kit" that was supposed to resolve some of the noise issues.
I had to re-message them and after that they sent a package through DHL but asking me to pay Customs & Import Tax.
    Naturally, I refused the package.
This has prompted Secretlabs to refuse to send me the barrier kit unless I pay the import and Customs fees, claiming they will reimburse me afterwards. Given how Secretlabs treats their costumers and their rigid policies I'm more than reluctant to trust them and I have refused. Thus, I still have a defective product.
While the story is getting more and more ridiculous they did deliver the rest of the warranty components they deemed as defective.
    Update 2:
Secretlab has contacted me via a message in this comment section, insisting I pay the taxes and take possession of their "barrier kit".
I no longer have any interest in this product or in interacting with Secretlab and have put the chair up for sale on the used market. Hopefully I'll be able to sell it at a minimal loss and be done with this whole story.
Update 3 (approx. 4 months after the initial purchase)
Chair has developed another problem, it makes loud creaking noises coming from the lumbar support when you sit back in it unless you fully tension the lumbar.
Three people came and saw the chair but none wanted to buy it after testing it.
Update 4: Sold for 450euro. (Acquisition price was 530e)
Took around 5 months to sell but I still lost less than if I was to return it to Secretlabs.

Must say I find it amazingly stupid by a company to continue causing issues for you after a video clip like this one. What they should have done already from start is making sure you got all your issues sorted very quickly at no cost in combination with their excuses for the bad experience you had with their product.
That way, you would probably have had a totally different story to tell us and certainly a more positive one. Where the money they would have spent on making you a happy customer would have been a fraction compared to what they risk loosing in sales after people watch clips such as this one.
I honestly feel sorry for them they don't see this themselves. Which of course also goes for any other company with the same attitude. I guess it all comes down to what league you want to play in as a company, with the pro guys or with the less pro guys.

I ordered Titan Evo from Secretlab about week and half ago and then I found your video clip. I wasn't sure what to think about my order and was afraid of outcome. Must say I received the package in good condition (not like your one) and the chair itself does't have any of the issues you pointed out. Don't know now if I'm lucky or you are not if it comest to this product.
      Anyway...
I ordered two products form SL. This chair and their desk. I placed both orders the same time and I received chair only. Still waiting for the desk.
Contacted customer support regarding my second order and my experience with them is quite bad, so I must agree that is not serious having so low quaility of services for so expensive and so promoted products.

  • @Brandon-cs8gw

I bought a 2019 Omega Softweave back in 2019, several months before the pandemic, & after I quit my job. I sat in it for hours & hours for several years now, nothing wrong with it, but I made a mistake & bought a Titan 2020 during Black Friday. I was working my ass off that year because I was building my first custom setup & custom cooled rig after my shit experience with a prebuilt from Digital Storm. I've sat in this Titan for maybe a year at most, & it's literally been the worse experience of my life...
First of all after several months I discovered the backrest wasn't aligned with the seatrest, so that's probably why my right side of my back started killing me, if I sat in the chair for more than a few hours a day. I reported it to Secretlab, & omg I kid you not... These people act like their chairs are perfect. Your 5 year warranty means nothing to these people. They'll get you to show multiple photos & videos before okaying a replacment, & then they also try to get you to believe that there's nothing wrong with your chair
Apparently all of the defects are normal. It's ridiculous! I gave up, & then several months later the left PU armrest started splitting at the back for no reason. I barely put my elbow there. Anyway, I was like, yeah this chair isn't holding up & is defective, so I contacted them again. After pushing hard enough they sent me some replacement parts. The tilt mechanism was sent to me live-loaded without being fastened, & then the left armet pad was the wrong size. Figures!
I contacted them again saying I discovered why the backrest wasn't aligned. Secretlab made one side of the backrest fixed, so you can't move it once you slide it into the grooves for the tilt mechanism. It leaves about a 2 inch gap, & it won't move or budge unless I took an angle grinder & sawed off the welded joints on the right side of the chair, so I can have some movement to align the backrest with the seatrest on both sides. After pointing this out they sent me an entirely new left armrest & backrest for my chair
Well, I never bothered with it, so I tried selling the chair locally. After many lowball offers later, I went to try all of the parts to see if it would make much of a difference, & I even made several measurements to see if sawing off those joints would fix the issue. Nope... The new backrest is exactly the same, & after doing the math. It wouldn't make a difference because the seatrest isn't made properly. After taking off the old backrest, I made a whole new discovery!
The entire leather portion of the seatrest has given out. It flaps like a bitch now. I couldn't believe it! I could even pull it with my fingers. It's almost like whoever wrapped the leather didn't use enough fasteners to make sure that it wouldn't move. I couldn't sell the chair after the discovery. No way I'm selling that crap to someone else! I contacted Secretlab for a return request & refund. They declined my offer & we started the whole troubleshooting process over again...
I eventually went online to dig deep on where their US base is to see if I can call in to threaten for legal action against them. If I'm not mistaken. This past month they went completely in the dark. They removed their US based phone support, & their US warehouse is now a Red Stag fulfillment center. This is clear sign that they started dropshipping from a cheaper plant in China. Their 2020-2023 models are all junk compared to their older models
I hope more people watch this video & read all of the negative reviews because most of their reviews are bots. Avoid Secretlab like the plague. Overpriced chairs with lowend parts. Their softweave models are good, but that's it. Just the fabric. Their leather products are crap. Whatever happened in 2020 made this company start cutting costs & then increased their prices. Some people haven't even gotten their desks yet~

Back then I was torn between Secret Labs and Vertagear and ended up buying a Secret Labs Titan because of all the positive reviews and hype. Bought it in February 2018 for 379€ and it is one of my biggest regrets.
At first I didn't find the chair that comfortable and I still find myself reajdusting my sitting position every 30 mins because my back starts to hurt.
The worst part has been the "leather". It has peeled heavily on the front half of the seat, where the front half of your thighs rest, and is starting to peel where your back rests aswell.
The armrests are not soft at all, to the point where your arms start to become numb from the pressure on your elbow nerves.
Also the left armrest has developed a 15 cm gash on the rubber, on the inner side. The adjustment positions of the armrests are not equal between them, to the point where one of them sits slightly higher and forward than the other. The back does not sit symmetrically or perpendicularly on the base, and neither do the armrests.
That being said, the unboxing experience was normal for me, everything came well packed and the product did not have any noticeable flaws. The stitching is perfectly done throughout all the chair.
But apparently, after 5 years, not only has the price gone up, but after watching this video, it seems their QC has suffered significantly.
I would not recommend Secret Labs to anyone :/

I had an AKRacing gaming chair before, the PU leather started to peel after about 4 years. Beside that the chair was pretty okay, not the most comfortable chair but after using a few other non-gaming chairs definitely not the worst either.
I'm thinking to get back to a gaming-type brand because I liked the backrest tilt the AKRacing one had and most gaming chairs seem to have the same.
The biggest issue with the gaming-chairs I have though, is that the seating and the back cushioning is too firm/hard to my taste. I prefer a pillowy kind of seating and back rest.

I bought the Akracing max chair. It's meant for big/heavy people, but it works great as im only 5'8 and a half. You can adjust the width of the armrests where you attach them under the chair.
You get a nice wide and comfy, but firm enough seat (cushion doesnt sink to the metal). You can sit ergonomically, but with tje wider seat you can also sit cross legged if you're smaller like me.
It's the best chair I've ever owned, next to my Hermon Miller Aeron at work.
I prefer my Akracing max, just because I can lounge it (H Miller far better for work). I've sat in it for hours and hours either working or playing games.

I got the SecretLab Omega back in 2019, got the softweave. It was really good, a much better price than what they sell them for these days, and it will probably last me a very very long time. On the other hand, these new Titan EVO ones seem to me to be the product of a company having a name that's too popular. They can afford to skimp out on quality because people are buying their products anyway. Its like any big name like Supreme or Apple, their name is what they sell now, not the quality products. Most people can see that a supreme t-shirt is too expensive for what it is, and same with iPhones. These chairs are the same deal. They are nice, they are pretty and quite comfortable. But do they need that price tag? no not really. And do they need to care when one gets shipped out in the state that yours is in? no because people will buy them anyway.
So thanks for making this video. Hopefully it can help towards bringing some change.

The seat was hard on my ass and for the price even then, it wasn't really worth it. IMO. Learned my lesson quickly man. Gaming Chair doesn't equate to Quality. Short (long time) story: Bought my Titan Evo 2022 Softweave last year in June. Assembly was easy, nice quality i guess. It smelled like a chemical factory for weeks and i wasn't able to use it in my room. I got headaches from it so i placed it in a nearby room to rest.
I heated it with a hairdryer every day after the smell didn't went away. After that it went better every day till no smell left. Now nearly a year into it...
I got bladder pain syndrome, oversensitivity, numbness in my tailbone, restless leg syndrome symptomes (tingling in my legs) sometimes... for MONTHS. I went from Doc to Doc. Nothing found, no bacteria. Till someone mentioned per coincidence if i sit a lot. I told that i do, that i got a new chair. Well... guess what. This garbage concrete chair seems to have my nerves compressed.
Now i have a nice way to neuroligists, chiropractor and others to fix what this chair did over months.
And before someone asks: I can reproduce the symptomes now i know were it came from by changing how i sat on it, what pillow i used and also had no symptomes when sleeping and got better when i was walking around and was staying (I can sleep well, not like with a real infection.)
Sitting made and makes it worse on the other side.
It happened over a period of a few months (~3-4 months). I got a pillow and even that didn't help much. I went through "hell" with the pain, the always persistent need to pee with an empty bladder because all the nerves were and still are completely fucked. The lumbar support is a joke. I needed to press my butt back to feel SOMEthing about it. No matter how much i adjust it.
And it is HARD as hell. I don't weight much. About 65kg and that weight is way to low for that "cussion" they use it seems. Not much "pillow" substance on my rear as well what made it even worse.
I read it needs to "sit in", so i believed them. Without knowing that i hurt myself for longtime... i was naive and stupid because of the marketing and everyone said these are awesome chairs.
I wanted to believe it and maybe also pushed away the thought that i bought a bad product.
They are NOT good. They are a danger to health for some people in my opinion. I guess lower weight people are wrong with that chair.
This went so far that i'm not able to fullfill my job anymore properly because that pain comes and goes till my nerves are healed again. Thanks Secretlabs.
Yes of course... it is also my fault. I know that... as i said. I was naive and stupid... it is a lesson i had to learn the literal hard way.
I regret that decision so much... months not knowing what was going on, one walk to a doc to another. Just to get told that my chair fu****ed up my nerves down there so much that i got these hell of a ride of symptomes.
It won't happen to everyone but it did in my case. Some others told about numbness in their theighs, also tailbone, buttcheeks and other similar problems. Even backpain despite it should work against it.

I really regret it that i sold it. I may get one of them again, but just with a headrest now. And sell that piece of garbage from Secret Labs that gave me months of pain, Doc appointments, depressions even because i didn't knew what was going on. Screw them.

I have had absolutely no quality issues so far with my SecretLabs chair. It is 3 years old and still looks like new. My issue with the chair is that since purchasing it and spending long periods of time in it I have developed an issue called “sit bone pain”.
The problem with this chair is that it like many other gaming chairs are modelled after race car seats. The actual seat leans back and is not flat and it can not be tilted forward like most office chairs. This position over long term causes excessive stress on the largest ligaments of your body joining the legs to the sit bones due to your hips or sit bones being in a lower position than your knees. This medical issue is widespread, you can look it up on RUclips but I never suffered from this issue until I bought this expensive chair. So far I have found no solution and may have to replace the chair.

I got a titan evo too and the chair arm leather has fallen apart literally 4 times now, on both arms each time. They've replaced them every time without question despite them saying this sort of thing is wear and tear and not covered. It's a constant problem even with the newest models, and their no questions replacement seems to suggest they know it, it's probably why they have magnetic arm rests now. Also the cloth version at least is hard as a rock, a genuinely terrible chair. If you can afford a secretlabs chair you can afford a reasonably high end office chair, which will be a hundred times more comfortable because an office chair being comfortable literally increases performance, companies have a vested interest in making those chairs good.

    Hello,
I have a question about the lumbar support on the XL and the regular model and it's possibility to adjust it. 🙂
I am relatively tall (6'4 / 193 cm), I could easily take the Titan Evo XL, but I would prefer the "regular", because I have very narrow shoulders and the armrests on the XL are too far apart for me.
    I measured.
How far up can the lumbar support be raised on the regular in comparison to the XL?
How many inches / cm can I raise to lumbar support higher on the XL, compared to the regular?
Do you understand what I mean?
I would appreciate a qualified answer.
    Greetings,
    Johannes

I still don't know what to think of these chairs. I've heard good things and I've heard bad things. Honestly, minus the whole tilting mechanism being wonky, I probably would have never noticed the stitching and the lumps. As long as the chair is comfortable and didn't murder my back, like my POS office depot chair, I would probably be happy. I'm still considering this chair, though my other current options are the Secretlab Titan Evo, Razer Iskur v2, or spend almost 2 grand on a herman miller embody. I've heard you get what you pay for and like the Secretlab chairs, I've seen almost nothing but good things about each of those chair, but the closer you look into anything, even the chair that costs 2 grand, the more you find people that say that the product was not as good as they hoped. I think the return policy has me more worried than the actual quality of the product itself, and I live in the US. I think if it would cost me that much to return it, I'd probably just try to sell it off of craigslist or something or just suffer with it.

Hopefully you havent bought one yet.
I recently bought one and I've never been more disappointed in my life... The chair is super wonky all around, armrests are uneven and impossible to align, you also have to take them apart and tighten the screws inside on a regular basis.
My tilting mechanism also broke after 2 weeks(im not a very large person so it wasnt a weight issue), replaced it and the "new" one i got is making so much noise that i've ended up just keeping the chair locked in an upright position.
The backrest is also uneven, it tilts more on the right side than the left so its terrible for your back.
These are just a few of all the issues I've had with secretlab.
I promise you that you can find a MUCH better chair at any store that has "office chairs".
99% of these "racer/gaming-chairs" are a huge scam.

The PU arm rest pads will fail and they will tell you this:
"It appears that the armrest cover has worn over time with use. Wear and tear of parts is generally not covered under our warranty terms as the degree and speed of occurrence is highly subjected to environment, usage methods and aftercare provided, amongst other factors."
PU foam impregnated components were used in dashes and arm rests in cars during the 1960's to the 1990's and this is how the material works. It fails, it doesn't hold up to heat and repetitive stress. The people as SecretLab know this and have implicitly admitted as such by offering an interesting design in the Cloudswap arm rests. So you can continue to use PU and just throw the pad away every couple years or you can get the plush arm rests which have a different covering material. I took the arm pad assembly apart and the design is solid, it's just the materials that isn't great, but the truth is when it comes to furniture, materials typically are cheap.

5 Years ago, I bought a "Big and Tall" Serta office chair for about 300 dollars US, delivered. I am a short, fat old man who plays hours of games every week. My chair is my cats favorite claw sharpening toy. It's leather, and after all this time all I ever did to it other than casual maintenance ( tightening bolts, wiping off cat drool) is add a seat cushion. Lets face it chair is rated up to 500 pounds but a 280 pound man sitting in it for 5 years will destroy any cushion. MY sons all do the "Gaming chair" buying, and have both gone through several while my Serta rocks on. That's about a 4 hour rating if you're..say, 6 1 and 200lbs. Honestly I can get office chairs for less that have 8 or 12 hour ratings (400lb or 500lb 6' 1"+ height).

Not discouraging your claim, but I just received the jjk titan evo 2022 edition. The only thing I didn't like was the box and I don't blame them for it but rather fedex, but besides the box mine came in great condition, stitching was nice amd on point and the chair I'd say was rather comfortable atleast to me. I think it just comes down to what kind of chair you'd like... like secret labs tend to be more firm but it's also not to firm. I feel like it's a genuinely nice chair and to me it felt very high quality compared to other brands. Arms rests were nice and comfortable aswell and I had no issues with the quality. Besides the box my only other complaint was just building it since it took about and hour. So all in all I genuinely do recommend the chair. To those who want a firm yet comfortable chair.

I already had SecretLab Titan EVO 2022. I would have to send it back. The reason for this was that the seat padding was cut too thin. You sit down and just feel the hardness of the seat. Namely the metal parts below. I mean, if there was something like plastic or wood to support the entire surface of the seat from below and the upholstery width at least plus 1 or 2 cm, I would keep it. Otherwise, only half of the seat is well padded. And where you actually sit you can feel the hardness of the metal. This is bad. I would say that the S version that I tried only fits people up to 65 kg. Because of the very thin padding.

A lot of chairs I see out there from Amazon, Office Depot, Sams to the big Companys like Steelcase, Herman Miller, Knoll, Sit-On-It, Hayworth, etc...many go by looks ignoring the other crucial parts...which is what and how the chair frame is built...composite, plywood bottom, etc...and the Chair Control which s the foundation. I've seen plenty Amazing Looking Chairs with some cheesy $80 Dollar Chair Control. And chairs with Plywood Bottoms...be careful as the wood will react over time and "could" start creaking or breaking.....another area you really need to be sure of...Warranty, parts covered and labor. Steelcase and other Big Names have like a 12yr Warranty that almost covers majority of the chair and about everything can be fixed/replaced....Base, casters, Cyliner, Arm Caps, Chair, Control, etc...

Buy an ergonomic ("office") chair instead of popularising the gaming chars - you only have one spine and you should take care of it accordingly.

I'd never recommend gaming chairs. They're all produced by the same few manufacturers with the same low quality materials with wildly varying prices. If you spend alot of time at your desk I'd recommend a 24/7 grade office chair. Back when I was younger I bought a gaming chair because, quite frankly, I didn't know better and it was a terrible experience having that thing. After it fell apart(faulty welding) I replaced it with another gaming chair, hoping it was just a fluke and that one had a misaligned arm. Combined they lasted me 4 years and before that I was using a much more comfy chair so I pursued that option and boy am I glad I did.
The gaming chairs I bought were 300-400$ and were poorly made, crap materials and the cushions flattened in the first 6 months of having them, absolute dogshit. The chair I have now I spent about 480$ and it's fantastic, the quality is just night and day compared to the gaming chairs.
Now I'm not your dad, if you want to get a gaming chair by all means, it's your money to spend and your life to live but I just really wouldn't recommend doing so.

This is a common opinion through the industry. Sadly, it usually comes from people that have played around with cheap rubbish 200-300usd amazon gaming chairs.
Premium gaming chairs can be great. Been using them for years.
You do get more ergo features with office chairs for a lower price however. You can hit ikea and get a good chair for 200. You can't get a good gaming chair for that amount.

I'm 6'4" and got an extra large. The extra large is designed for TALL & LARGE people, not tall people. Arms are too far apart and I swim in the seat. Don't go by their size recommendations if you are a tall person.

I purchased the Titan Chair 2020 Edition three years ago, and so far, I have experienced no issues whatsoever, including no tearing. I have been sitting in the chair for at least 10 hours every day.

I don't recommend any "leather" chair. Both I've had the seat just disintegrates in a year or two. Even with a Purple cushion on it, spreading my weight.

I'm not sure how gaming chairs are different from office chairs. In both cases, you sit down at a computer desk. I'd recommend Herman Miller, Steelcase or Haworth office chairs. They are pricy, but some can be had for 500 dollars. They come with 10 and 15 years of warranty and the quality is perfection. But best part (I own a steelcase) is that it takes care of my health, with propper posture and great adjustments. The best I'd recommend is Steelcase Amia. Even if you buy these chairs used, the quality is far above what you find in gaming chairs, as they are built for 24/7 use.
