Back by popular demand! The special 40th anniversary edition of The Star Wars™ Home Arcade Game features artwork from the original arcade machine that flows seamlessly from the cabinet to the included riser. The just over 5’ tall machine (with riser) comes with a lit molded coin door, light up marquee, full-color 17” display and dual speakers. These features, combined with the real-feel flight yoke and control buttons allow for endless hours of gaming! The Star Wars™ Home Arcade Game is easy to assemble. (Force Powers not required)
The Star Wars™ Home Arcade Game features the original Atari arcade versions of the classic games based on Star Wars, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi!
Star Wars is a first-person rail shooter video game designed by Mike Hally[5] and released in arcades in 1983 by Atari, Inc.[6] It uses 3D color vector graphics to simulate the assault on the Death Star from the 1977 film Star Wars. Developed during the Golden Age of Arcade Games, Star Wars has been included on lists of the greatest video games of all time.
The game features synthesized voices to emulate the actors from the film. The player engages in a dogfight with Darth Vader and enemy TIE fighters in outer space near the Death Star. After the TIE fighter waves, when flying towards the Death Star, the yellow grid lines on the Death Star spell out either "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU".
In the second phase, the player must fly across the surface of the Death Star to reach its equatorial trench.
In the third phase, the player must navigate the trench until finally firing a proton torpedo for a direct hit on the exhaust port target. If the player is successful, the Death Star explodes and the player is awarded a bonus shield.
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is the sequel to the vector graphics Star Wars arcade game. It was released by Atari Games in 1985 as a conversion kit for the original game. As in Star Wars, the player takes the role of Luke Skywalker in a set of battle sequences in a first-person perspective. The game features the Battle of Hoth and the subsequent escape of the Millennium Falcon through an asteroid field. The game is the third Star Wars arcade title from Atari; the raster game Return of the Jedi came out the previous year. Home ports were released by Domark for the Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, Commodore 64, and Amiga.
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is a 1984 arcade game by Atari, Inc. and the follow-up to 1983's Star Wars arcade game. The game, which was the second arcade release by Atari based on the Star Wars franchise, uses raster graphics rather than the vector graphics used in the first and third arcade games. Several home ports were released by Domark for the Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Atari ST,[1] Commodore 64,[2] and Amiga[3] in 1988. The game is included as an unlockable extra on Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike for GameCube. The player pilots a speeder bike to the Ewok village. The next stage involves piloting the Millennium Falcon to destroy a reactor. Another speeder bike stage follows. The final stage involves piloting both an AT-ST and the Millennium Falcon in rapid succession in a fight against a Star Destroyer.
I remember the sit down cabinet for Star Wars at the local fair in the U.K. Amazing game.
I haven't seen those Star Wars games 35 or so years and as you started playing them, I remembered exactly how to play them. It makes me think of the good times I had with my late brother when we would play at an arcade in Casselberry,FL called The Fun Machine. Thanks, Chris👍
Sorry for your loss. I had lots of fun at the Arcades with friends and family that have pasted away so I feel what you mean...May memories of those times with your Brother keep you warm and comforted Bro.
@@wraith20072007 Thank you
Beautiful…Thank You for detail in putting it together…Congratulations ❣️❣️❣️
Congrats on the pickup - the perfect addition to your collection.
I think so too!
Your Mortal Kombat Arcade needs a riser. I love the Star Wars Arcade 1Up cab. I wish it came with Star Wars Trilogy which I feel is the best Star Wars Game. Thanks for the great video.
Wow I didn't know that there are acctual Arcade Kits around .I just knew the about used real Accade Mashines you can buy . Cool Stuff.
ah thats awesome! i want to get the Ninja Turtles arcade one lol
I've seen that you can download a file onto an SD card and upload the TMNT games and more into the 4 player cabinets (all the 4 player cabinets are the same aside from graphics).
When the warranty is up on my Simpsons 4 player cabinet I plan on doing just that so I can have those games and not need extra machines.
That tron just lights up like crazy ..you gotta get a black light and lets side art show off .. nice!!
WOW!!! It's a cool collection!
Pretty neat. Video games sure have come a long way.
I have the original release of the Arcade1up and my biggest complaint is the discrepancy between the volume of the startup video and menu and the games themselves. Going from the games back to the menu is always so jarring and I have to turn the volume down before starting the unit or going back to the menu. This is clearly a software issue and I was hoping they’d have fixed it on this reissue
For the full experience you need the cockpit version.
Looks like a fun game- nice arcade you have there.
We must have all the same hobbies :) I only got one of these before I discovered the end of my wife's tolerance, but I use Retro Pie for the rest of the arcade games!
I ordered one and so I was wondering how big the box was. Looks doable. Thanks.
Nice build .. I was very impressed with the new coin slot. How great would it be to have that open so you can store some stuff inside the cab (its like an empty warehouse in there I have my back detach with velcro for that). I would also as a big player of the game appreciate a pause button on the cab .. because I will not pee in a jar like they did in the day, and sometimes you have to turn it off mid game to save your marriage. Anyway cool build .. loved the little details.
Nice! I see they have Defender. I wish they also had Stargate Defender. I spent a lot of quarters in that machine when I was younger.
I had no idea you could buy these
The AT-AT level was never available back in the day.
Fly down that Tight Tunnel and shoot your weapon into the hole.. Use plenty of Force!
Arcade1up did a good job with the design of the wooden cabinet and the retro aspect. What is absolutely incomprehensible, however, is why these age-old vector graphics games are in this €700 device. Do you want to torture children with it? Also, you can't really enjoy retro when there are now super cool 3D Star Wars games. Why wasn't at least the System Modul-3 games adapted? They could have added those nostalgia vector games as a bonus after all.
If other people enjoy this game for nostalgia and fun factor what’s the big deal? If you don’t like it that’s fine but I’ve set this game up for a local school and kid’s and adults enjoyed. This Star Wars arcade was one of the most popular arcades I set up along with Outrun and the simpsons. trying to figure out where your negative post is coming from.
Return of the Jedi is a very difficult game and I mean VERY difficult.
Pretty kool
Best time of your life.
I prefer 90s arcade graphics over 80s!
I have the Packman with four games installed. This is pretty cool, got to check this out.
They are a good bit of fun.
I'll wrap up my collection with Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee eventually and hopefully they make a Road Rash / Hang On cabinet with a handlebar for a motorcycle game some day.
@@hpiguy They have Duck Hunter? That was one of my along with my Son's favorites, I also want to see if they have Super Metroid...I was addicted to that one, I did beat that on Nintendo version I believe, it was a fun , fun game. Thanks for the review really interesting. thanks for posting and sharing and all your hard work and time in posting your video reviews it's greatly appreciated Chris.
I have spent real money playing the real console. This is a really nice clone of that.
Buen video
You don’t have to turn it off to select another game. Hold all four buttons down and it will take you back to the main game select menu 👍🏻
Correct
@@hpiguy in the video you turn it off to get back to the main menu. Was just making you aware 🙂
Because I wanted to speed things along and couldn't hold all four while filming.
Thanks man!
Great video! Does the yolk and fire buttons feel like the original Star Wars arcade machine? I had the original and nothing else compares. I am keen to buy this one as has all 3 games.
I haven't touched one of the originals since the 80s so I can't compare, sorry.
Arcade one
Was disappointed that you didn't respray it in black primer then highlighted things using a silver Sharpie
I did brush Future all over the screen though! LOL
Your yoke seems a little misaligned to the left. Mine was the same. I contacted customer service and they sent me a new control panel and yoke. 👍
My cousin has what may be the first production Pole Position sit down version. It has as low a serial number and my cousin bought it at an estate sale, he said it appeared to have never a coin through the slot.
"Prepare to Qualify"
I can remember it like it was yesterday.
Pretty cool set up you have there. I actually owned one of the original SW arcade games, I sold it a few years back, now I wish I had kept it. My dad and I used to work for ATARI Games Corp (coin-op division) back in the 90's. My dad also worked for them way back in the 70's (the hay days) so we have decades of history there. The stories I could tell you... My collection of arcade games has shrunk over the years but I still have an original Asteroids, Tempest, Pac-Man, Frogger, BATMAN, Primal Rage, SF RUSH and several others. These 1/8 cabs are great for folks who want something like this but without the heft and size of the real things. The cool thing is those "new" games are still just running the original ROM's from the originals, so game play is the same. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend. -David
Nice!
I gotta say I was prepared to hate the new cabs (I have the star wars one). The reliability of the cab by taking the ssi + MSI + microprocessors + ROMS + god knows what via large decrepit cab boards (those things are monsters) to one small palm sized board is just unbelievable .. no thermal issues. When you go to vintage arcades to play old school games star wars is frequently waiting for some fix. Also the Big ugly CRT being shelved for that 17 inch lcd .. wanted to hate it .. its BETTER. The bigger harder to maintain screen was hard on the eyes and very pixelated. Finally the control a lot of people complained about the yoke being plastic .. I certainly feel the gears are an upgrade (the x axis does NOT have gears just a direct drive potentiometer) compared to the spindly nylon jobs from 83.
Line Drawings = Vector Graphics.
It's not online!! Who would have guessed?! it's a 40 year old game ffs!!
Arcade1Up will have many of their retro games include online access so that you can compare scores and have leaderboards across the world.
Of course the original game would not have had that, but people want to know if these cabinets can compare scores online.
That Ridge Racer cabinet is obscenely good looking, I need that.
Actually, ever consider scratch building an arcade cabinet?
There was an ice cream parlour in Birmingham UK that had the Star Wars game. My friends and I would catch the bus at lunch time, play two or three games and be back in time for the register at 2PM! Happy memories
Hey Chris, nice fish man!
FUN!
