    Game Description:
The Galaxy’s Last Line of Offence.
Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter.
URGENT BROADCAST - SUPER EARTH ARMED FORCES
    Freedom. Peace. Democracy.
Your Super Earth-born rights. The key pillars of our civilization.
    Of our very existence.
But the war rages on. And everything is once again under threat.
Join the greatest military force the galaxy has ever seen and make this a safe and free place to live.
    BECOME A LEGEND
You will be assembled into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions.
Watch each other’s back - friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.
    LOADOUTS
Rain down freedom from above, sneak through enemy territory, or grit your teeth and charge head-first into the jaws of combat.
How you deliver liberty is your choice; you’ll have access to a wide array of explosive firepower, life-saving armor and battle-changing stratagems… the jewel in every Helldiver’s arsenal.
    REQUISITION
Super Earth recognises your hard work with valuable Requisition. Use it to access different rewards that benefit you, your squad, your destroyer ship and our overall war effort.
    THREATS
Everything on every planet wants you dead. That’s what we’re dealing with.
Each enemy has distinct and unpredictable characteristics, tactics, and behavior - but they all fight ferociously and without fear or morality.
    THE GALACTIC WAR
Capturing enemy planets, defending against invasions, and completing missions will contribute to our overall effort.
This war will be won or lost depending on the actions of everyone involved.
We stand together, or we fall apart.

Something’s just satisfying seeing a good video game shotgun, especially against giant monsters/bugs.

It's always great to see the progression of play, especially so quickly. Part 1 just being "Why don't buttons button" to part 2 being helping new players figure out how to button. And of course chaos still ensues regardless, making it a great time.

As the 6 shotguns in the game go, the 3 Breakers are the 3 least accurate. Slugger (literally a better marksman rifle then the actual ones lol) > Break Action (only available as a pickup) > Punisher > Breaker > Breaker Incendiary > Breaker Spray and Pray (as you might expect by the name) in full.
Nothing really seems to suffer the video-gamey "falloff" stuff though. At least not in any range you'd actually be engaging inside of. The biggest point you will notice shotgun spread is trying to hit smaller weak points, where some or most of the pellets don't land precisely and richochet off armor instead (especially on bot heads)
    Prone > Crouching > Standing
    Not Moving > Moving
Also changing your aim around induces wobbling/spead. Which some guns have way more then others (this one stat actually is insane on the Counter Sniper Marksman rifle, basically making it unusable in live combat cause it just flails madly)
Arguably the best armor perk in the game also reduces recoil further while crouch/prone AND reduces explosion damage to you.

That one mission near the end was a butt-clencher for sure! But was real exciting to see you all pull it off... especially with the sheer comedy of that extraction.

They gave soldiers stimulants like meth to stay awake during long missions in WWII

@@Sorcerers_Apprentice And as far as I know, "go pills" (mostly amphetamines AFAIK?) to delay the need for sleep remained a thing with some militaries, including the USA, until at LEAST some point early in the forever wars (Afghanistan? I forgot exactly where.). I know the investigation about the training Canadian troops who were bombed by the allied American pilot (who specifically flew closer to ricocheting machine gun tracers he thought were ineffective ground fire, against orders, so that he could invoke his self-defence clause and attack) included a lot of media coverage about him being on government-issued stimulants at the time, at least here in Canada where it's extremely easy to sell the idea of methed-up over-aggressive trigger-happy Americans.
I think the stereotypical attitude over here was "whether it was the post-9/11 propaganda, the questionable hiring policies, the meth, or some combination, American soldiers were (at least sometimes) over-aggressive menaces that wanted to kill something so badly they didn't always check that something wasn't their allies".
