I had to skip the chainsaw, regardless of category.
Please take a minute here to appreciate the beautiful and intricate actions of chaos in that first video. The elegant subtlety of the original trigger at 0:02. The realisation of impending doom at 0:04. The astounding 'hammer' of the falling beams less than half a second later harnessing the full power of gravity to bear on a single point. The delicate 'catch' at 0:05 where, like a prima ballerina, the wood twirls and appears to float in the air. After this the simple perfection of the lift as the wood, now filled with energy engages with both the ladder and the rope. And follows the 'lift', when the ladder defies gravity and launches skyward, taking our protagonist with it. Then there is the 'fall' - where all of the comedy and tragedy of life is brought to the fore in a single movement, a descent not only away from the limelight but actually completely out of the story. And finally, the 'piece de resistance' as the electric drill, until now just a sideshow, takes centre stage and finishes the performance with a flourish.
This isn't a fail, this is a theatrical performance in a seven second take. It is truly magnificent and we might wait years for another this good.

I used to work at an aerospace factory. One of the guys was working on an artillery piece in his spare time, using tools from the machine shop. Slightly smaller than the one in the vid. When it was finished, he decided it would be a good idea to test fire it out of the window on the top floor of the Tech Pubs office. The recoil took out about six drafting tables, blew the windows out and lifted the roof sheeting.
It was brilliant. Didn't do his career any harm either - he went on to be head of Technical Publications. 🤣
I found my new role model.

That gal at 5:45 falling off the fireplace hearth and landing on the paint bucket, damn that had to hurt, it takes some force to deform the rim of the paint can like that, she'll have a black and blue mark from that.
Also mildly impressed with the big guy using the two ladders as stilts, fall was inevitable but he still did OK!
It was the way she got scared of the brush handles so she lost her footing that made me just question her whole plan lol. Why not just wear shoes??

My biggest issue was her snotty toddler saying "mooOOOooom!" in a super annoyed way, like she was falling and being noisy on purpose! What a little shit lol. Sorry mom was noisy because she fell and hurt herself! No empathy in that kid

My buddies girlfriend died the exact same way from the paint can incident at the 5:45 mark. She died the day after the fall on top of the can from internal bleeding. Be careful!

As someone who has taken wood trades classes before. These are all pretty relevant and good examples of what not to do
Respect to the guy in the go-kart for wearing a full face motorcycle helmet. He knew there would be a bit of risk and prepared accordingly, so even if a car had hit him his brain would have probably been safe. Broken bones and scrapes heal easily enough, brain injury on the other hand can result in all kinds of awful symptoms and changes, which are too often permanent
This is why OSHA exists. Just remember "it won't kill you" doesn't mean you won't be spending the last 40 years of your life in permanent debilitating joint pain in a country where there is no healthcare unless you're a millionaire.

@@imalwaysright I believe they pumped the air out of the chamber (vacuum) and the chamber failed, so it violently imploded. After the implosion, you can see the vacuum pump in the background and that noise at the start was it running.
