Still a wee bit leaky but that doesn't appear to be holding them (loco and crew) back. Must say I was surprised though. Expected a Jube since last we saw of 35018 she was still leaking but had completed her test run. Cracking filming work!
I must say Liam, it's strange that a loco in this state is deemed suitable for main line running these days....Great coverage as always, and the new camera is producing great results....Bob
Nice vid here Liam. I wasn't that far away from ya at Wrenbury as I was on the 2nd bridge out of the station. Looking great with ya new camcorder. Best Wishes. Richard
Lovely crisp video, thanks Liam. The last sequence was definitely the best, although the first was a bit of a cliff-hanger - very well rescued! Very well done also with a new camera - I know the feeling, having just moved to a Panasonic VXF990 (still looking for editing software to output in 4k on a Windows PC). Kind regards, Bob K.
Only if needed, there will be certain areas when it will take it's weight, or if the train is in danger of holding up other traffic they will use the diesel to get the overall train up to line speed asap. In this video, the only notable assistance was in the first scene on the busy West Coast Mainline.
The only noticeable assistance was on the WCML in the first clip as they had just come off the slow line. The two other scenes had minimal assistance, most likely just taking it's own weight.
Great to see another M N Class back on the lines, Very nicely filmed. Thank you .

Good run to say it has the equivalent of load 16 on the tender.
Really wonderful video.
Great stuff Liam , shame the leak is still there but a solid run with that load . Glad you managed to get out for it 😉
Nice, British India Line is now touring the country alongside Clan Line, i feel like a double-header is in order. :)
You've got no chance, as both owners/society of both locos couldn't be further apart, in non distance terms !
That'd be nice but as noted above unlikely. Better chance of Theresa May bringing back BR!

This train came through Basingstoke yesterday 9th July 2019, same configuration as in video
Very, very lucky those two Freightliner 66s were light engines!
Sister locomotive 35006 was at Broadway today
Nice shots! Agree about the steam leaks. Maybe it's the first Bullied Crosti convertion?
Why do they have a diesel engine at the end?
Nice one
Is that a class 47 at the back of that steam train
Does the diesel loco on the back contribute to the driving of the train?

Good stuff Liam. How did you find the VXF1? Looking to add to our VXF990, and deciding between that and the Sony AX700
Too early to say, looks very good so far, yet to test it out at night !
Bloody sheds, eh? Nice video all the same. 👍🏻
Noticable that the diesel was providing a lot of assistance....I suspect the train wouldn't have it otherwise.
The 47 didn't seem to be providing any significant assistance anywhere, I think it was mainly just there for train heating
AndreiTupolev I disagree...listen to the exhaust note of that diesel as it passes, it is working quite hard.
struck2soon Bear in mind that it has 13 coaches, I think it's understandable if it is

It cant be working that hard because the radiator fins are closed not open, so even in the first clip its doing nothing.
